Hi! Congrats to all you ladies here! My name is Liz. I'm 40 years old and am currently a SAHM to my almost 2 year old daughter, Chasity. I just got my first BFP on July 4th, after TTC for almost a year. This is my second pregnancy and hopefully will be my second child. My first doctor's visit to confirm this pregnancy is this Monday, July 10th. So excited! I look forward to getting to know you all here, and I pray we all have sticky babies!

Thank you for the warm welcome! polson , elsiemae , nuggetrn , orangehibiscus , alwayscheese, babybean I hope I get to stay here with you all. I have celiac disease which has been known to cause miscarriages and stillbirths. I have been completely gluten free (except for accidental contamination/exposure to wheat) since 2012 though, so risks are down to a minimum. Thankfully, I had an easy pregnancy with my first child and I pray this one goes well too.

elizabeth congrats on your success being gluten free!! I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months here with us!! I was tested for celiac earlier this year year due to my loss history and other symptoms. It was pretty nerve racking but thankfully I didn't end up being diagnosed. I am seriously impressed with your ability to stay gluten free. I did not have that much confidence in myself as I was thinking of the possibility. Although I am sure it has gotten easier for you over the years (I hope?)

nuggetrn, so sorry for your loss. No matter the reason, it still does not lessen the pain. I hope you found some answers. I was relieved to finally have an answer to why I was so sick for over 15 years. As soon as I found out wheat was the culprit, I have not had any temptation to eat wheat/gluten. Sure, I miss some things... BUT I fear wheat now, it is everywhere and in way too many things... Very easy to have cross contamination or exposure. I am thankful, through diet, I am able for the most part to prevent getting sick like that again. I have zero tolerance for wheat. Most people do not fully understand, and think I am a "special snowflake." That is why I try not to make a big deal about it. When in doubt, I just don't eat.

And I can definitely see how being so sick made the transition much easier. I didn't see any symptoms myself until the GI pointed some things out. My real red flags were recurrent loss as that is a big thing with undiagnosed Celiac. The doctor just put those things together and figured I should be tested. I think the only thing I currently have to explain my losses is the PCOS, maybe weak ovulation and poor implantation? With the help of an RE and some meds I am hopeful my 5th pregnancy will stick!
