Last night we went to a local brewery's new location and had some really tasty food and saw some friends. Nugget ate half an order of fries and ranch all by herself.
our US Soccer group is running a watch party in the city this afternoon for a Us Men's national team match so we're heading in for that and then going out afterward to a surprise going away dinner for a close friend in the group who's moving to Germany. It'll be a long afternoon/evening wrangling a toddler, but I'm looking forward to seeing our friends and watching the game. Hopefully she'll let me wear her for part of it.

Oh, and Nugget decided this was the only appropriate place to eat her granola bar this afternoon.

I'm baseball gamed out. D had two yesterday morning, one at 8am this morning and just finished his last one about an hour ago. Now we're having a lazy afternoon watching kids shows on Netflix. Maybe we'll get up to have dinner in a few hours.

We went hiking this morning and I had a hair appt in the afternoon. Went to SIL's house for company and a wonderful smoked salmon dinner. And decided on a whim to have our niece over for a sleepover (her first time sleeping here). It's a quarter til 9 and the big girls are still up reading while A has finally (I think) passed out. And MH left me hanging by going to bed at 8:30. Thanks, babe.
So now I'm stuck awake by myself waiting for a 5 & 7 yr old to go to sleep.

J is working this weekend, so M and I headed to the mountains to visit my mom for the weekend after I left work yesterday. We went to the farmers market and the botanical gardens this morning, and after lunch out we all had naps. I slept over two hours-- it was glorious! My mom and I always have a great time together.

MH and J are out of town until tomorrow, so it's been a girls' weekend here. Last night I started reading Everything We Keep and couldn't stop so I stayed up until almost 2 finishing it. Today M and I slept in, then went to Target and came home to portion and freeze 50lbs of sour cherries. I bought her a exersaucer for the house (we have one from J in the bonus room above the garage) and she loved playing with that all afternoon. Now I'm drinking a shandy and watching Bridesmaids on tv. Trying to resist reading the sequel of the book I read last night because it will be good reading for the airport/flight on Thursday. But I don't know if I can make it until then.

Yesterday we slept in and then went to our town's pool/water park. It was a ton of fun but exhausting.
DH works this weekend, and had to go oot unexpectedly because his coworker can't figure out how to do his job. I have some choice words for said coworker, and for the guy who thought it was a great idea to replace his perfectly capable predecessor with this clown.
I've been working on cleaning that rental house. The kitchen is mostly done, as is the hall bath. DH is trying to talk Grandpa into replacing the scary master shower, so I'm waiting to find out the verdict on that. In the meantime there is a ton of wood paneling to polish. Church tomorrow, so I may save the rest of the cleaning for next week.

We've had a crappy weekend. L had his vaccines last Wednesday and had a fever, lethargy, and no appetite until last night. So we've been worrying and watching him. This morning he's not been his usual self at all, and he still won't eat anything. He's drinking a little but I'm still worried about him. I didn't expect him to have issues for days like this.
We're going to go for a walk around a nearby lake soon and hopefully he'll perk up a bit.

We've been having a nice family weekend as a completion to our vacation. The farmers market went way better than expected after we had a torrential downpour about 30 minutes after it started. Today the weather is pretty much perfection and I finally mowed the lawn after breakfast. Then M and I went out and picked currants to put into a cobbler. DH is cooking up a huge pot of pasta sauce so that we have lots of lunches ready to go. This week and next week M will have swim lessons at 5:30pm, so we need to have easy dinners.

Well the girls finally fell asleep at 9:30 last night and slept til 6. We made chocolate chip muffins in the morning and ended up deciding to go to the DC Zoo today since the weather was so perfect. Everyone had a good time. Then S there together a delicious savory meatball pasta dish for dinner. Just waiting on the tired girls to fall asleep.
Oh, and I'm cuddling with the dog on the floor because she's not allowed on the furniture. And sometimes you need dog cuddles.

Whew. It was a long weekend. Normal Saturday, followed by a busy Sunday - picking blueberries at work (I brought the whole fam, harvest a few pints for work and H/M ate their fair share...), then home and just hanging out when...
I get a call from my step cousin! "OR, are you okay?!" Yes, why? "Because the memorial service is about to start." But... I thought it was at 1pm! "No, it's at 11am. Now."
YIKES. I threw on a skirt and black shirt and flats and drove 1/25hours away as fast as possible. Luckily, I wasn't bringing kids/husband and I didn't miss much. The deceased is my aunt-by-marriage's father who was 97. It was truly a celebration of life.
Came home to A and FIL at a pub/bar in town with the kids, listening to live music. Except M is a mess and H is anxious because it's too loud. I ended up bringing the kids home and FIL/A brought home burgers for takeout. We ate, sat around watching the chickens for awhile, and then kids went to bed.

We had a pretty busy weekend too.
Saturday some friends came for lunch and to meet T. In the evening, R1 took R2, FIL and some other friends to the local race track. The boys had a blast and didn't get back until almost 10. I had a leisurely evening with T and MIL and went to bed early.
Yesterday we took a family outing to the farmers market to get our CSA box. There is a local nano brewery that R1 likes in the same plaza. They also now serve BBQ so we stayed for lunch. T slept the whole time. I was totally wiped out and took a nap afterwards.
Then FIL left for the airport and other friends brought dinner over.
T is giving me a 4 hour stretch of sleep at night right now so I'm really happy with that. I guess it makes up for being attached to me all day long.
