Morning!
I get to leave the house today b/c I have an appt on base to renew my military ID. Have to have a photo taken so I’m doing my hair and makeup for the occasion. Pretty exciting stuff 😏
Otherwise, just Flamingo’s School of Hard Knocks for B, and probably starting to pack up my china.

Fridays ate catch up days for the girls and Maddie has a few assignments to do.
They've both trashing the house lately so the battle to get them to clean up shall commence. They've been good at occupying themselves but it's all over the place--the guest bedroom, the closet under the stairs, the front porch, the garage. They've been exploring every nook and cranny.

I'm working from home today. H woke up once last night and came in our room at 6:10. Apparently he was pretty loud and woke up M, so they both came in our room. MH was pissed for some reason. I told him I'd buy an okay to wake clock but I don't have high hopes of that actually working. We shall see.

You can choose different color nightlights and different sounds. When it’s okay to wake up but not ok to leave the room it’s yellow and it turns green when it’s ok. I like that it goes to sleep when it’s his bedtime so I can say look mello (what he calls it) is asleep and you should too. He goes to bed but doesn’t necessarily go to sleep. |

I’m already ready for this day to be over. I would love to say I get to relax this weekend but I won’t. I still need to take down Easter decorations and do a good cleaning of my living room and dining room.

My kid came to my bed at like 4. Said she couldn't sleep and needed the tablet. Wut? Uh, no. She then jabbed me in the back and head for an hour. Then she went and got the kitten who crawled all over my head. I told her to his and her ass back to her room, no tablet. She went and got the tablet at some point because now it's blaring. I'm not happy.

Oh and YMCA cancelled their first 3 weeks of camp. There goes my plan B option, on to plan C, oh that's right, I don't have one. 🤦
So, looks like I'll go to work for a week, then work at home for a week, then go back to the office. 🤷
At this point, who even cares. I'm over all of it. I guess at least I won't be having to pin the kid down to do schoolwork.

Season 2 of Dead to Me is out today. I've been binging Killing Eve so I'm trying to decide whether to continue or stop and watch Dead to Me. Decisions, decisions.

Morning. We’re wrecking our brain with all the upcoming changes in schedules, this is going to be very challenging. High school boards are losing it, high schools are allowed to open June first, but the rules stay intact, so at least 6ft between people etc. How in the world is that even possible?! Teachers can’t split themselves into 3 and teach each class three times... I’m so glad it is not up to me to figure this out.
I told my coworkers today about the pregnancy and they were all very happy, most don’t know that I had a miscarriage and made some unintentional remarks that struck a nerve. It’s weird.

I think week 2 or 3 of quarantine I cleared out some bins and stuffed a lot of the toys in there to go outside so my house didn’t constantly look like a unkept toy store. It’s been so much better. Also have not done anything for school spirit days...whoops. Ours are just Fridays but by the end of the week my brain is fried and I don't feel like digging thru email to find the principal's email with the theme.
We are also in season 3 of Killing Eve; we did finish Ozark so can I sit at the cool kids' table now?
My mom just sent a video of the Blue Angels flying directly over their neighborhood as part of their FL tour. B now wants to fly one, of course.

Are you girls doing end of the year teacher gifts? For DD’s teachers I’ve bought mason jars, that I’ll fill with homemade granola, I’ll attach the recipe and a sweet note. Ds’ teacher had a rough time these last few months, so I want to do a little bit special, but not creepy invasive. Thoughts?
ETA gifts are not really the norm over here, but my mom always did, so I’m carrying on the tradition. If people do something it is usually something very small (around $5). I don’t mind spending a bit more.

nam2013 I usually do gift cards with a note for year-end. B's teacher is supposedly stopping by our house to give us a scrapbook the asst. teacher's been making for each child, I'll give them then I guess. If that falls thru for any reason I'll probably send e-gift cards.

I'm calling out sick from momming today. My diet has been atrocious lately and my stomach has been really irritated the past couple of days and now I have a migraine, probably from dehydration. So I am working from bed in the dark but logging out early. I'm so glad Pete is home today to manage C's day.

nam2013, no. Normally I do little stuff periodically throughout the year for the teachers and staff (bring in Starbucks, buy snacks for the class, flowers, etc). I'm doing nada this year. I might have the girls make a picture or something that I'll email to them the last week. Trying to coordinate giving an actual physical gift would be too much of a pain.
