Kicking myself that we got rid of the OXO travel training potty. Though even 2 years ago DD1 was too big for it. The bags had an absorbent pad in it and were pretty great. my mom used a bag lined xlarge coffee can with an open diaper in the bottom for a while....

so Arizona is staying home? based on state of the roads and fullness of parking lots Arizona is just not moving MORE yet Either that or they weren't really staying home to begin with so there's not much change? yes that's what I meant. they aren't moving any more this week or two compared to last month cause theyve always been moving. never stopped BUT everything opens back up on the 15th (not everything but almost) so they are gonna go places even more As I sit here contemplating going to see my mom. She's 2.5 hours away and I haven't actually seen her since last august. She was not "up to" visitors at thanksgiving, christmas or new years. We were going up to crash her house [even without permission] on spring break. until we weren't.

The Mountain West areas of that map are really interesting to me. Are people moving around more because restrictions were lifted or because it's nicer weather and recreation options are opening up?

The Mountain West areas of that map are really interesting to me. Are people moving around more because restrictions were lifted or because it's nicer weather and recreation options are opening up? Idaho reportedly had large numbers of people openly defying any kind of stay at home order, at least in parts of the state. Montana actually lifted many orders in at least some parts of the state. There are children in Montana that went to school this week! They just kept their numbers really under control and were able to start easing restrictions earlier.

Does anyone know if they are massively ramping up availability of the flu shot this year? It seems like we have annual shortages and I'd expect more people to prioritize it this fall.

Wisconsin Supreme Court...what are you doing. Wisco is just fucked at this point despite the governor's best efforts. I saw that at least 75 protestors have tested positive. If it was just them, I would probably cackle but who even knows how many others they infected and now medical people have to care for their stupid asses.

Someone explain to me wtf is happening in Michigan As Coronavirus Restrictions Lift, Millions in U.S. Are Leaving Home Again nyti.ms/2zB0KHbIf I'm reading it correctly, that's about a 10-12% increase from 0 at the height of the stay at home order. So, I'm chalking it up to the 10-12% of gun-toting nutjobs that are refusing to adhere to the continued order. Most of us are still sane.

I just saw an a video that was so hard to watch of a WOC being fucking arrested in the subway in front of her child for not wearing a mask. I am just....at a loss for words and disgusted with the NYPD right now.

I shared this on GD but sharing here too.
My governor just finished up a press conference as our SIP was set to expire on Friday. She is keeping many of our orders in place but opening up all retail at 25% occupancy. Malls, gyms, salons, and movie theaters will all remain closed. Places of worship can open at 10% occupancy and non-essential workplaces can open at 25% as well. Certain counties are excluded completely from opening things to try to get their numbers under control.
Masks will also be mandated as of Saturday. I think it's a great start considering our numbers haven't been going down and today's death total tied our deadliest day so far.

I'm really glad that WI will have a different Justice soon. That is unbelievable. If stay home orders are all dependent on local governments making decisions, it's going to be a mess.

Soooooo, I wouldnβt put it past McCarthy but I also know King is a liar. He knows that a major talking point for his challengers is how he has no power without committees. So if he can convince people he will have his seats back before the primary he can pull out a victory. Heβs the fucking scummiest of scumbags and I have a lot of private thoughts on things I wish would happen to him.

I am just....at a loss for words and disgusted with the NYPD right now. This is such bullshit because (1) nobody should be arrested for not wearing a mask, you don't deprive someone of their liberty for such a minor infraction, and maybe she couldn't get a GD mask, and (2) we know a white woman wouldn't have been arrested

And manufacturing was allowed to start back up this week but I don't think that's part of the map. Also assholes be assholing π€·

Does he realize that planners, systems engineers, and sociologists specifically study those things? PDQ, but my H used to model throughput in airports to help maximize flow of people through commercial areas and help people flow more smoothly through checkpoints. I bet people are even using the same modeling program he used to answer these questions.

I learned in our press conference that my state has the second highest percentage of children covid cases. And it's doubled in two weeks. That definitely gives me pause. My sister was debating sending my niece and nephew to summer camp and while I would love a break I'm telling her not to.
I hadn't realized how bad it was for children here and it is definitely giving me pause.
Our school district also emailed us a survey this afternoon for how we would prefer the fall semester to go. Traditional school, combo of both, or distance learning only. It's hard to answer right now because I don't know what things will look like in August. I can't imagine how stressful this is for the ones actually having to make the decision for everyone.

Someone explain to me wtf is happening in Michigan As Coronavirus Restrictions Lift, Millions in U.S. Are Leaving Home Again nyti.ms/2zB0KHbI just wanted to mention in regards to the rural states of western Minnesota, Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho "moving more": these states are rural. So people need to travel longer distances for basic needs like food, medicine, doctors, etc. Alot of these people make one trip a month for necessities. (I grew up with this lifestyle) People may have stayed home as much as possible but now are venturing out for these trips. Also people in these areas travel long distances for work. I'm not sure if Michigan falls under this category too.
