Morning!
I work again this afternoon. It’s MH’s birthday and it’s a little gloomy out after the storm we got overnight. I made a cake and M is about decorate. He wants crawfish tonight, so I’ll pick that up on my way home later.

Lol. I had no idea. My long-ago hair stylist is married to a Navy diver who played minor league ball before enlisting. He ended up on one of the military baseball teams and traveled around the world to play. I always thought that was a pretty good gig! It'd be a dream gig. One of the former martial artists from my dojang, who is an amazingly talented 4th degree black belt, is off at college now. He's in ROTC and when he came back for the summer I tried to guide him a little bit about military career choices. I encouraged him to look into the TKD team because he'd be treated like a prince and have a much nicer start to his career. Unfortunately he's at that young and not-yet-jaded on life phase and does not want to be defined by TKD and instead wants to join the infantry. He will regret that decision in a few years I'm sure. Ha! Yes, my hairstylist was able to go to a lot of cool places to see her H play. But yeah, enjoy that first tour in Djibouti... |

Hi hi. Good heavens, my kids are all up on me. I've done zero work. We are about to have a zoom with the receptionist at n'd daycare. She's so sweet and emailed after a class zoom and said she missed us and would love to catch up. To be 23 years old living with roommates.. we also had her conference last night at 9:30 pm, which was lovely with a glass of wine.
K's school sent out a survey about opening back up to get opinions. Sounds like they are requiring 4 to 1 ratio, 8 kids total per class and split schedules. Possibly June 1. We won't be sending anyone anywhere until all 3 kids have somewhere to go though.

Good lord. I got an email about upcoming tryouts for Army eSports. They are looking for new talent to have a edge in their competitive teams. I knew the Army had sports teams, but I read further and missed the "e" part. It's for video game teams--multiple. There's actually different teams for various gaming platforms for shit like Call of Duty and Rainbow 6 Siege. Tax dollars at work yo. Unfortunately they don't have a Mario Kart or old school Zelda team so I'm out. Since sports have been suspended my DH has really gotten into eSports. It’s so nerdy and I love to tease him about it. |

B's friend's family stopped by again on bikes, so nice to have contact with the outside world. It would probably be weird to be like, "You are our lifeline!" but that is basically how I feel right now, lol.

I have a cat question....specifically a long haired cat question... wedding @klongoria and any other cat people... We had a long haired cat show up at our house a few days ago. It’s super sweet, no microchip, doesn’t belong to any of our neighbors. So we are feeding it and I guess keeping it. But it’s hair has a few matted spots. Not horrible. But I feel like I should do something. Should I : A) try brushing it out (already tried some but can more I’d recommended) B) cut the matted part out C) leave it the hell alone |

lfig, aw, a birthday kitty. I cut the mats out. Partially because they drive me crazy, but also they tend to get bigger. Then I brush afterwards. I've never had any issues with being careful not to hurt my cats, but it's best to make it a 2-person job. Whoever is best at keeping it calm and hold it and pet it while the other one cuts out the mats.

DH made homemade funnel cakes. They were better than the boardwalk. I’m going to need at least 30 days notice before the end of this quarantine to deal with the pounds I am gaining.
