B was up early but C let us sleep til 7:30 🙌🏻 They found their baskets and are engrossed. DH made breakfast and we’re going to tune in for the live-stream of our church’s service at 11 with mimosas.

Morning! L is in his room reading (Mella is yellow so he can play quietly but can’t leave his room) while E is still sleeping. Cinnamon rolls are in the oven. Dexter has gone potty and eaten breakfast so he’s ready for his basket. Just 7 more minutes then I wake up C and E.

We don’t really do a basket. Just a couple of toys. C never believed in the Easter Bunny so it’s made it easy. I left his toys out last night and he is happy. We are going to do our Easter egg hunt in a few minutes and then an egg and spoon race with our dyed eggs since none of us like hard boiled eggs.

Zoom dinner at 2 with the in laws. 2 is the ideal time for a nap. Hopefully I can squeeze one in after. I’m already tired and want to sleep as much as I can before powering through another week of work and homeschooling.

Happy Easter! DH informed me this morning when I was getting ready for work that the girls woke up at 3am for an hour thinking it was morning and that the bunny came. I didn’t set the baskets out until right before I left for work. DH sent me some pics and videos and it sounds like they enjoyed their baskets. It started snowing overnight so the drive in to work was very slushy. It’s still snowing, they’re predicting 2-4 inches but who knows when this will stop. So egg hunting will be an inside activity this afternoon.

At our wedding, just before it started, the groomsmen and my H were passing around a flask. The priest walked in and one of the groomsmen tried to hide it. The priest said “enough of that!”. Then grabbed it and took a swig 😂.

Hi! We had a lovely family breakfast, had an Easter egg hunt at the play area around the corner with my parents (from a distance of course) & spend most of the afternoon delivering Easter eggs to various family member which was nice. I had stuff in the house to make a ceasar salad, but wasn’t in the mood, so we ordered sushi instead!

Happy Easter, friends! L slept in so we made H an N watch a show in our bed so we could sleep a little longer before going down to find baskets. Woke up to snow and it’s still snowing. Boo. Then we had drive in church service and now we’re home drinking champagne and Dh has a ham on the smoker. We have video chats with both our families this afternoon then we’ll probably put on comfy clothes and watch movies in the basement the rest of the day.

The girls had fun with Easter crafts and treats this morning. MH made a big brunch and sent me to rest (he's a saint really). Later we'll do an egg hunt outside.

We had an egg hunt, ate a bigger breakfast, hunted for eggs again, and now the kids are entertained with their gifts.
Uno flip is so fun, but really requires attention!
A little bit of the everything bagel seasoning on deviled eggs is excellent.
I’m going to give the kids some time on their iPads while I finish up dinner.
I have a thought to make a gin and tonic but fear one drink will make me too tired to function so I may wait til dessert.
It’s a weird holiday. There are these great moments of celebration, but because it’s just us at home (and that isn’t typical of this holiday for us) I’m doing normal things like checking the mail (thanks for the nail strips, mwhip!) and doing a load of laundry!

Zoom dinner was actually good. My BILs family had trouble setting it up so we could see everyone so we really only saw my nieces a little but could hear them.

Sadly DHs uncle passed away today around noon. He had stage 4 cancer and we were told at the holidays 1-3 mos so it was expected but really sucks timing wise. My FIL was crying when he told us. It was so sad. FIL is the oldest of 9 in a very close knit family so not being physically there makes this so much worse.

Happy Easter. The kids were up early so by 9, baskets, egg hunt, breakfast and baking were complete. The weather is nice so we hung in the driveway for a good part of the day. DD had her mats out and was tumbling which was good because she used to practice for hours even when she had practice and she hasn’t been interested at all. DH is making Easter dinner now (ham, potatoes, green beans, Mac n cheese, deviled eggs) then we have cookies we baked this morning and a pudding pie.

We’ve been on spring break the past week so tomorrow is back to distance learning. We are launching phase 2, where we actually have set times with each class and have to teach new material.

Hi! Happy Easter!

Feels weird, especially because the weather isn’t great here and I’m sitting now watching live weathercast because of tornadoes. There is a big one south of us, but thankfully none near us.

Boys slept in this morning. I was glad because I woke up at 8am to put the baskets and eggs out. I was able to have coffee and watch a virtual service before they got up. I threw M for a loop because I didn’t sit the baskets on the kitchen table, so he didn’t see them right away. He ventured back into the living room and saw them in front of the doors leading to the patio. They were excited.

Happy Easter! It's very un-holiday like around here, aside from baskets and an egg hunt. No special meals, pretty much normal activities, and AF showed up this afternoon so now I'm a bit crampy and tired. I'm also a bit relieved because I was so annoyed at everyone earlier today and now I'm feeling far better, haha.

This week is Colin's spring break and I'm glad he's getting a break but we've also finally hit a stride as far as figuring out how to best tackle his school work. Hopefully he'll get right back on track next week.

Happy Easter! I found N downstairs on the couch looking at the baskets at 7am, who knows how long she had been there😂. We did a pancakes that looked like bunny tails and feet and then did an egg hunt. Mh finished assembling the playhouse and it's adorable. We have a ham in the oven and will make mashed potatoes later and probably FaceTime the ILs...somehow I always end up doing all the talking on these things, mh sucks at it and always faces the camera out and doesn't carry the conversation 🙄

Cadence woke up at 7. Mh and I went back to bed after she went through her basket. Mh had woken up at 6 to hide the eggs in the backyard. While he was out there a huge storm swept through so he has to stop. It led to me having to explain a bag of eggs sitting at our kitchen table. Girl lives the Easter Bunny, though, so she's pretty sure he left them there for her dad to hide because she had said he wished he could hide them for her. 🤷

I made deviled eggs. Cadence got pissed that I "ruined" her pretty eggs.

She is now in the tub and I'm really looking forward to bedtime. I'm so tired.

I'm sorry wedding, definitely a bit harder than usual to lose a loved one right now. My friend's grandfather passed away this week and her mom and mom's siblings could be there but obviously none of the cousins or other extended family. I know she missed having the big family gathering to say goodbye.
