Thank goodness March is finally over. What's happening this week? Our district officially starts "distance learning" today. DD1 has a daily meeting at 9 Monday through Thursday. Then a couple of assignments she needs to submit.
My classrooms daily meeting is at 11:30. But then throughout the week, I have a few other meetings plus 1 on 1 zooms with kiddos that have IEPs. I'm a little nervous as to how it's going to work out with Haley running around. 😬

I'm struggling. Work is really hard. I had a case that died last week. I also called next of kin on another one and she had no idea her son was even in the hospital. I'm not the one that should be breaking that kind of news. I teared up a little last night thinking about getting back to it this week. There are so many coming in at this point that I end up doing case investigations even on days I'm not scheduled to do them.

Oh, PennyCandy. That’s terrible. I’m sorry that you had to do that. Thank you for the work you’re doing.

We’re just trying to make it through another week. I know we’re lucky in all of this right now so I’m trying to keep reminding myself this when things get tough.

PennyCandy , I am so sorry. I can't imagine having to break the news to people. And that poor mom who did not realize her son was in the hospital.

PennyCandy, that’s awful and what an emotional load for you to carry as well. My sister is an women’s health NP (but works in a clinic) and has some patients who have been positive but all mild cases.

Yesterday was much more manageable and I'm not taking cases today thankfully.

We are in our second week of distant learning. So far it’s not bad but I can’t imagine having to do this with older children. I’m sad that my DS most likely won’t have a pre-k graduation.

Starting the day off with over 170 cases between 10 people and more will come throughout the day. So much for manageable. ???

My meetings so far have been good. I want to get a zoom background so no one knows where I am. Yesterday, I was sitting in my garage while the girls played. I know that I am not alone as when we meet with other staff there is always a person who has their child with them.

I'm not on case investigations today so it's quiet and I decided to take tomorrow off. Hopefully I will be recharged by Monday. I got my CPAP yesterday and within an hour last night tore it off. It's going to take a while to get adjusted to it. My dad has been having health problems for a while now. They thought he had a stroke, but it turns out it was myasthenia gravis. He started treatment this week and says he is already seeing improvement so that's good. He sounds like he is handling the news pretty well.
