Y’all why is it 89 degrees today? I am glad for the warmer weather, but damn near 90 the first real week of spring?? M just asked if he could put water in the blow up pool and I might let him. It will be back in the 70s next week. Jealous. The boys wont stop asking when my neighbors pool will open lol.

I spent so much time in FaceTime/on the phone with relatives today. We never talk this much. It was nice.

Fftc:I learned through Josie’s school work today that a pony is not in fact a baby horse. How have I gone this long without knowing this?

It comes up every now and then in the UO as someone confesses they didn't realize ponies weren't baby horses. That's where I found out. Have you seen that "Kids are about to learn to carry the 1" meme that's been floating with all the homeschooling now? I had that moment with Maddie the other day. Her worksheet said to "regroup if necessary" and I had no clue what that meant. She learned to carry the one.

chrisy01 I've got no shame in my game. I'd play those prayer videos as I went about my business doing other things around the house. That's how I do a lot of my pointless check-the-box work trainings. Start playing and set in the background.

In addition to just being hard for someone's mental state and needing that light at the end of the tunnel, I think you need a middle ground for closures. I think doing them in too small of increments and continually adding would get old. But doing too much at once I think you'll lose people. Instead of trying to keep kids on track for the eventual return to school, I could see a lot of parents just saying "screw it, it's summer" if they knew the kids weren't going back already.

lfig I’m a day late but re:S’ spitting/dribbling, X does this and my guess is also sensory. If I can quickly get his attention to another sensory activity either oral (eating applesauce with a toothbrush, weird yes, but recommended by his OT) or something else involving water (a bowl of water and cars he can “wash”) then he’s pretty easily distracted. I know this is practically impossible while trying to work, though. Just what’s helped us get him to move onto something else. Good luck.

I read something written by an NBA player in Miami; his point was to take this thing seriously so we can get back to ‘normal’ as quickly as possible. He talked about all the kids for whom school is a sanctuary, where they get fed, escape tough homes or neighborhoods for a bit each day, etc. As 🤯🤪 as mine can make me, those are the kids I really worry about being out of school...not the ones with two gainfully employed parents at home trying to homeschool, but the kids coming from broken homes where there may not be supervision and/or enough to eat right now.

The confirmed cases in my city jumped from 52 yesterday to 92 today. I’m never leaving home again.
Also, just I we fell into somewhat a manageable routine, they are extending our work day an hour. I know I still have it better than most but I can only ignore my 2 year old for so long.

Once you know sex, Male is a colt, female is a filly. Same for ponies. And there are are miniature horses and miniature ponies.

School closure was just extended until 4/27. I’m not mad about it, was just waiting for that to happen.
I’m very annoyed with Pete. He’s still running errands casually like yesterday he went to Target just to grab some ice cream! Today he asked me if he could get Atticus early to take him to Target to pick out a birthday present for Poppy.
NO YOU MAY NOT.
Maybe you’ve heard about a global pandemic? Are you trying to get us killed?!

I just want it to decided because I am a planner and not knowing is not doing me any justice. I wouldn’t want to just keep pushing it back. And right now, the date they have set is exactly 1 month before we would get out for the summer, so why not just decide it now so I can get my head on straight and know what the next 4 months hold for me. See also: life in general. I wish we had a crystal ball that could tell us when normal life would resume.

jewels How is your H today? You all ok? He’s had a fever all day. Chills etc. but still says his chest is ok. Hasn’t eaten anything but a handful of crackers all day. I’m hopeful he sweats it out and is a touch better tomorrow. Thank you for asking

And me and the boy’s are ok. I’m just terrified I’m gonna get sick too and have to figure out how to care for the kids. He literally didn’t get out of bed all day except to pee. So I’m praying the rest of us stay healthy.
