Yes danib we still have 72-pound, very tall 7-year-old DD use the diono as a 5-point in DH’s car because we wouldn’t be able to reach down to buckle. But that should work fine for your DS right? DD uses a booster in other vehicles but understands she has to use a 5-point for 3 across.

Yeah if it comes down to it I'll have to try him with the harness again and just let him know it's temporary. Not like we'll be going many places anyway, since we'll get the van once everything reopens in a few months. How tall is your DD? DS isn't heavy, but he is a total beanstalk.

danib yes I'm sure it will be fine if temporary. My DD is both tall and heavy. I think she's about 50 inches tall (just a foot shorter than me!).

danib from what I can tell, the height limit on our Diono seats is 57" for forward-facing, non-booster mode, so you should be good!

Sooooo we were waiting to buy a van until the last minute, due to mortgage purposes and debt-ratio. And now the car dealerships are closed 😳 Things are gonna get tricky if baby comes before everything starts to get back to normal. Uh oh. I hope they’re able to reopen or at least do appt sales. We too are waiting to buy our van until probably late May. As far as I know car dealerships are still open here. I’ve got my fingers crossed that they will have some great incentives with all of this going on.

Most of the ones I’ve seen are 50lbs for the harness. That’s why we went with a regular high back booster for DD1 when I had to get new seats after the car accident.

willow I’m so excited for you to have your babies. I know it’s kind of a scary unknown with the health climate right now but they will bring so much joy to everyone. I, personally, pretty much stay home 24/7 for the first month with new babies anyways so I’m hoping it won’t be too hard this time around. I just feel bad about family and friends not being able to visit and see the new baby.

I need to go back and read, I just wanted to pop in and let y’all know that Buy Buy Baby has 20% off a ton of stuff right now, and you can stack their/BB&B regular 20% off coupons on top of that. I just got our Chicco travel system for $230 total, normally like $350.

In regards to the booster buckle problem, they do sell buckle extenders which I’m sure you can find on amazon. My car will not fit 3 across with our current seats, they’re too wide, but DH has an 03 Yukon we can use if we are unable to get the van before baby comes. I really don’t want to do that though because it’s not in the best shape and it’s huge.

trtlcrzy thanks for pointing that out! I think you're right that the weight limit for the harness is slightly lower than where DD is right now (65 pounds). Which is one reason we don't plan for it to be a long-term solution. She will actually have to move to the front seat in that car once we have 4 kids, which apparently is legal for an 8-year-old in California if there are 3 younger kids that need car seats in the backseat. But I am comfortable with her being slightly above the weight limit now for short distances in our non-primary car (usually a block when DH picks up from school), and would be temporarily comfortable with it if I were danib and there were some extenuating circumstance for not getting a planned vehicle yet!

Diono has much higher weight limits than most other seats. Ours has a harnessed weight limit of 80lbs. sdlaura

Weeks/Due Date - 29 weeks tomorrow/June 13
The Good - I’m feeling good. I haven’t been working which is weird but it’s been nice not having to get up so early. I’ve been going on walks every day and this morning decided to throw in some jogging, which was kinda sad because I’m so out of shape, lol.
The Bad - nothing really as far as my pregnancy goes. Except the fear of what the world will be like in June. I just hope my hospital will still allow SO in with me at that time.
Milestones/Appointments - appt and GD test on 4/3
To Do List - as I said above I got the travel system today so there’s one more checked off. I feel pretty read as of now, as far as things we need. The only other big purchase is the crib, but we have the bassinet he’ll be sleeping in for the first few months.

danib we have a super small vehicle too and I spent hours looking up the smallest car seats. I’m still nervous it won’t all fit but we can’t afford another vehicle right now so I understand the stress well. I’m sorry! The key fit 30 is really small. It’s the one we’re getting. That's what we're getting too.

I had my regular appointment yesterday and am measuring 2 weeks ahead. I've never measured ahead (and my two other kids were 8 lb and 8.5 lb at birth). I'm trying to decide if I'm having a giant or something else. The doctor didn't seem concerned, so that's a plus.
It also makes me feel better for feeling so gigantic already.

DS1 consistently measured 2 weeks ahead. He was 8lbs1oz at 38 weeks. This bub is measuring about a week and a half ahead so far, so I'm expecting similar. Edit: he wasn't 2 weeks ahead at my dating scan or anatomy scan, I mean consistently once I got into the 3rd trimester.

Thanks for the tip on the Buy Buy Baby sale, wasabi. I went ahead and bought a new pack n play with all the napper/changing table attachments for when the baby is in our room. Stacking the coupon on top of the sale was like $11 cheaper with tax than buying on Amazon, but every little bit helps!

If there is something you are looking for, see if you can find it on Babylist. They will list where you can buy the item and how much it is at each store if its sold through various vendors.

I also found the breastfeeding pillow I wanted, and some clothes so I did some $$ damage today.

I think it’s by ergo, it’s a curved one that is better shaped to cradle baby from what I can tell so far.

I know here, we are shaking our heads because the Dodge dealership has remained open because they have said they consider themselves an essential service...I get it for emergency service on a vehicle to keep it operating but so that the sales guys (and GM) can continue to make commissions seems a little ridiculous when the rest of the world has shut down. But you might be able to get a van through them (but then you'd be stuck with a Dodge haha! no offense if you like Dodge, i've just not had good experiences with that brand). We know people at the Toyota/Lexus dealership and they did close down. So definitely other dealerships have closed here too.

I love my boppy but it’s very flimsy after being used with my other 2 girls so I plan to get a new one this time. I have a my Brest friend from DD2, but it isn’t my favorite. It’s very stiff and if she falls asleep nursing it’s actually attached to me so it doesn’t fall out of my lap (nor can I just fling it to the side) when I stand up to lay baby down like the boppy does.
