Sorry I'm a blue bird. Any recs on what to order for our backyard? I don't think we have a big enough footprint for a swing set. Maybe a climber and or playhouse? J went out and said it was lonely after 5 min yesterday... Do you have two trees that'd work for a slack line? C got the Ninja warrior slack line for his bday. We haven't put it out yet but it looks fun. ETA: Hearth Song has really cool outdoor stuff too fyi!

tallb, People like that EZ panda thing (it’s on amazon) but it might skew younger and maybe just for indoors ?

MH is on his way down to visit his dad with the kids now. I'm not thrilled. At least he gets it and said this will be the last time for a while. His dad isn't really changing behaviors from the way it sounds. I'm glad he's supportive and agrees with me though.
He's been helping a lot and making efforts to keep things clean around that house. I appreciate it.

Hi. I’m currently in the yard with the kids. We got our money’s worth with the swing set just the last 5 days. The morning was rough with both of us working and kids doing work/running wild. DD’s teacher is teaching live everyday at 9:30 so DD can’t be my usual childcare provider. T’s best friend lives behind us so they have been playing games like “who can climb up their slide faster.” She keeps saying “I wish I could come over.”

MH is hosting virtual happy hour in a few minutes. Everyone I turn in my house, someone is on a video call of some sort. I have to be careful when walking around in a towel after I shower.

We did our first school at home and it went well. Jackson wanted more work so we practiced writing his name and some math on a dry erase board.

I bet in a few years we will be able to test who has immunity to get a full picture of how widespread it really was.

Morning. SSDD here. It’s raining so I don’t know if we will be able to go outside this afternoon. I’m planning to take the girls to the school to pick up free lunches, might as well. It’s grab and go so we don’t have to stick around or anything. wedding did you tell C that Tom Brady isn’t on the pats anymore? He and dh were watching tv yesterday when the news broke. C was disappointed but his allegiance stays with the Patriots. That was the most annoying part of WFH yesterday, all the damn sports stuff.

Day 3 went fairly well. Until about 5 when I was vacuuming and C was using a pillow I just cleaned to scoot across the dirty floor. I raised my voice and he stomped away saying he wished he was at school. I have a feeling I will be hearing that a lot.

Survived day 3. This is stressful guys. Still trying to figure out how to work from home and watching the kids is possible... of course work has gotten more intense with everyone remote instead of slower. We got one of our old day care teachers to for the past 2 days but that's not sustainable financially. My company has resources but everyone is calling and I cant even get through. I havent been sleeping or eating well over this. How are you all managing? Luckily DH I'd home the next 2 days so we'll see if we can manage without someone helping daily . Sorry for the DD. I feel ya. Mh still is going in so I've had all 3. By 5pm I had barely eaten and was exhausted. Kids had watched a bunch of tv too and no naps were had. My focus is being available when I have meetings on my calendar and then cramming work in after bedtime. My work tends to allow for that since it's mostly project based though. Mh's job is not, so I will prob be default parent when he's home. Can you get up early and get some work done? I think I need to make a list of things for kids to do so we have some focus when I say go away and stop trying to peek in my zoom meeting. This is really hard to balance, so try to take care of yourself too. I am trying to figure out what I need to do to make sure my mental health survives. Mh got home and sent me out to walk around the block, which helped a bit.

Right as I unmuted myself on a conference call both kids starting singing at the top of their lungs “Into the Unknown”. So fun. Some of the people laughed after it happened.

Everyone needs to get over any need for professionalism right now and get a sense of humor for those type of things. This is uncharted territory. We're all doing our best right now.

I ran to the store to see if I could find H a writing practice workbook after supper. As I was walking around I started getting hot, nauseous and my tummy got tight. I’m going to message my OB about it in the morning. I’m kind of thinking I might be anemic due to some other things but man that wasn’t fun. I came home and laid down immediately and I’m feeling a lot better now. Also, I did not find what I wanted so I think I’m just going to order from amazon and hope for the best. We did get an email from the school saying the teachers should reach out to us on Monday with the distance learning plans.

Sorry for the hectic days at home mamabear and tallb. tallb We have been blowing up the big pool/slide just to let the boys have something to climb on and play on during the cold months. I wish we could get a swing set, but I am hesitant to spend the money when we aren’t in any one place long term. I had Mh clean off the water table that I was going to get rid of because I see us needing to distract them with new stuff soon. It’s supposed to be in the 80s a few days in the coming week, so I’ll break it out then if need be. Not sure if bubbles were mentioned? Hope you can find something to keep his attention outside. cagoldi what made them finally agree to the test?

I finished the patio doors today and put together two pieces of the patio set we got on clearance in December. I see myself escaping out there for fresh air a lot in the coming months.
M’s teacher sent us a math website they use in class with the school login and a reading website. M was excited to be doing something familiar and has been asking to do the math all day. I’m glad I finally caved and got that MacBook a few weeks ago. M will be on it more than me for the time being.

Depending on what our school district ends up doing, I may buy one as well, specifically for E. She can't use my laptop obviously. And I'm not sure her tablet will be good enough.
We are fortunate that we can do that. Many families can't though. It just sucks that some kids aren't going to get the same quality of learning from home that others and will be behind for the next school year.

I was scheduled for infusion today, and they weren’t sure it was safe to go forward. Presumably, it would help, but there’s no way to know. In theory, it’s possible it could make things worse because if my immune system kicks up too much of response once I get infused with the immunoglobulins, then we could be dealing with a cytokines storm that is leading to multiple organ failure for some people. So, infusion is cancelled. Test results should be back Monday. If positive, then they may go ahead with it but teach me how to do it myself so a nurse isn’t exposed. Or they might decide to postpone indefinitely. Just wait and see at this point.
