We aren't supposed to hold any in person meetings, unless necessary. Our VP of Ops just sent out a meeting invite for the entire company to discuss preparedness, but that we all have to stand a distance away from each other. Uh, isn't this what we should be avoiding? 80 people standing around, but not closer than 6' of each other? So stupid. So dumb. I would refuse to go.

Partners currently in their meeting. Sounds like they are talking more about the deposit debacle from Friday than Covid-19.

Hi.
I’m letting Dude take a few days to live his best pajama rainy day life, then we’re doing homeschooling starting Thursday.
Not sure what to do with the little ones yet. Pete is going to be WAH from here, so we can both watch the kids. But how we are supposed to be educating them while working remains a mystery to me.
Really, I am mostly concerned about X. He’s not going to have access to his therapies that are done at school and with limited access to playgrounds/no adapted PE and whatnot, I’m worried about a decline in his coordination, balance, strength, and range of motion.

That's tough cagoldi - have they given you therapies you can do at home with him to try to mitigate that?

That's tough cagoldi - have they given you therapies you can do at home with him to try to mitigate that? No, everything happened so fast. His program is M-Thurs. when he left Thursday, nobody knew anything. Friday afternoon they notified us that they are closed through April 13th. So there was really no time for the therapists to come up with an appropriate, individual treatment plan for all the different students. I could try to get referrals for private therapies, which he would certainly qualify for, but by the time those come through and we get appointments for evaluations it usually takes a good six weeks.

Also de fell on her head last night on our concrete tiles when she all of a sudden decided to climb out of our soaker tub last night. She started screaming immediately, pupils and reactions where great, but I decided to put a matras on the floor, sleep in her room and wake her up every two hours. My neck is feeling sore and I’m exhausted, which I’m sure is down to sleeping on the floor on a small matras with a thin blanket on top of me. But the corona thing is making me paranoid, what if it’s that!

The groomer told me 3 hours. I got home and they called to tell me he was done. Took an hour. Ugh. So I turned around and went and got him. He looks great.
MJ fell asleep so I drove to moms and had lunch with them. Just got home. Shes still asleep so I'm going to journal in the car until she wakes.

Our district did the same. Schools are closed until April 3rd.
The partners will be providing me and the accountant (we are the only ones with young children) with laptops and are allowing us to work from home if we need to. Obviously, I am fine this week, but I will be staying home starting next Monday, since I will have Cadence.

I went to the stupid meeting. He talked so long that we stopped at 11:30 because it was our production crews lunch time, and we will continue at 1:30. It isn't everyone, but management and production leads, so probably 20 of us. And we are all sitting far from each other. But it's dumb. He just wants people to volunteer to take lead on making sure temperatures are being taken of all employees and anyone who enters the building. Ironic, our FedEx rep showed up while we were talking, to say that their drivers will not have their temps taken when they come here. trtlcrzy your H works for a similar company, what are his thoughts on this? He is around so many different people daily as well.

Sorry about the layoffs, jewels. So many people and industries being impacted right now, it’s so far-reaching in ways we probably can’t even imagine yet.

Oliver jeffers is one of my favorite children’s author, he makes the most whimsical &funny books. He’s reading one of his books every day, not so much fun for my kids since they’re in english, but maybe fun for one of yours! The link on his website wasn’t on yet, but here is the instagram announcement.

Ugh jewels that is awful. I am sorry. vino how cute! So far today j has been the most high maintenance. He's listened to a podcast and then FaceTimed with my mom and aunt to read books to them. I think this will be a daily activity to keep spirits up. Poor k has a nasty cold, eye goop and all. Her 6m well check is tomorrow that I was considering cancelling, but I think we actually will need to go to bc I won't be surprised if she has her first EI. How's everyone holding up? I go between terrified and focusing on what we can do right now, which is what we are doing, staying home as much as possible.

I’ll see what he says when he gets home.

But LTL and truckload drivers have to, or at least they should, inspect their shipments prior to loading, plus sign paperwork. This could have an impact on the trucking industry as well.

He delivers and picks up from some businesses but it’s not anything like big freight.

Apparently, my firm is allowing those that can work from home, to do so. However, I don't have a laptop anymore and they've already run out. FML.

My boss hasn't even told us they're allowing work from home yet. My friend sent me a text about it this morning. My boss is headed back from the Houston office now to talk with us.

This sucks. I was done by about 10:30 this morning. Working while caring for a very active 6yo is rough. The CDC's recommendations for 8 weeks of this just about killed me this morning.

I know it sucks but in these times think about things you can be grateful for...you're able to wfh, you have a healthy family, still have jobs, ect. I'm just really trying to remind myself how good I have it when things are challenging. ETA: and this isn't directed at you or an attack, just a reminder for everyone (as I remind myself).

I feel like we need some sort of a fun thread not about all the shit going on. Any ideas? Never have I ever? Funniest memory? what your dream house would look like? if you had $1M all of a sudden what do you do? Or $500 you have to spend on yourself for fun stuff? Any interest/ideas? This board needs a pick me up!
