DS’s hockey tournament this weekend and DD’s state qualifier gymnastics meet have both been canceled. This weekend has been stressing me out for 6 months and now it’s pretty open except for my niece’s wedding Sunday afternoon.

That's awesome! Fingers crossed it pans out. Are your parents looking to up/downsize and stay in same area, or somewhere new? The house we're looking at, the family has 5 children (and FTR, this house is pristine...I'm convinced the mom is Superwoman) so I'm hopeful they would also like to avoid the showing process. They gave our realtor the price they will list at and it's very fair so we plan to go in with full price offer assuming everything goes ok next week. So they are planning to RV full time for a year or so. They want to do it now while they are in decent shape still and can handle it and have more adventures. Then they will be buying a villa probably. They like the idea of not having to worry about lawn care, ect. So they want someplace that it is included. That way when they want to pick up and go on a month long trip down the road they don't have to make arrangements for that stuff. My mom is feeling guilty a little about this adventure for a few reasons. 1. She helps my sister out so much with her 4 kids that she feels bad that my sister is so stressed trying to find other help. and 2. She feels bad about me not having a place to stay when we are up there for dr appts.. Lol. I assured her I would be fine staying at my aunts or my sisters instead. I told her they need to get out and enjoy their retirement and quit worrying about everything else! I agree after the financial planning thread on GD a while back. So many people not able to take their dream vacations because of tragedy after saving for retirement. They need to enjoy life while they can.

Haven’t traveled to China or Italy, so no testing needed according to public health nurse. No consideration for underlying conditions, only likelihood of exposure. See this baffles me. How did we get the first ever community acquired case in San Fran or Washington, if they didn’t test for it without having a likelihood for exposure? Do you have to be hospitalized before they will test you for it? If so, by that time how many more people will have been infected if you do have it? Why is our country like this? Why?

😳 maybe you do need a beach trip. Realized that tomorrow is an off day anyway so started today. No school for 3 weeks and then they will reassess. We found out at 2pm and school was out at 3:30 so no work came home that I know of.

M did the addition/subtraction Disney one this week.

Big hugs to everyone! MHs school closed today, they’ll reevaluate next week and beyond tomorrow afternoon. Josie’s superintendent is on some conference call with the heads of the state and an epidemiologist and should have a decision for us tonight. She came home with a giant packet of work! We don’t know if we’re going away for the weekend bc it’s feels kind of irresponsible to go if the schools are closed.

I got an email from my boss that they are restricting visitors at work. Every single person will be screened when they enter the building and only 1 visitor (that is an immediate family member) is allowed per patient. I kind of feel like this is a little OTT.

Our hospital has restricted access to 2 entries. You have to have a reason to he there (can't just be going to the cafeteria), have to be screened, and guests are limited.

I didn’t go to Costco today because just looking at the parking lot I was all “nope octopus”. Everyone was probably there looking to stock up on stuff the other stores are out of. Maybe I can go at store opening Saturday to hopefully avoid a huge crowd.
I don’t feel like cooking and wish we could have just went out. I was planning on it since it was just supposed to be me and M2. Should have kept my plans instead of going to the grocery store.

Schools were closing Monday for staff training on distance learning. They just bumped it up to tomorrow. Most neighboring towns are closing until at least April 13. I’m worried about the 90% of my kids who get free breakfast and lunch.

I don’t know about the CDC guidelines but my hospital added a question to the screening that asks if you have been around anyone that has been diagnosed with covid-19.

Ours too, but I’m not sure how you would. Nobody is getting tested so nobody is getting diagnosed.

Yes, they are also limiting entries. Of course I work one of the few entries that are still going to be open.

I’m worried about the 90% of my kids who get free breakfast and lunch. This has been the thing a lot of teachers have been worried about for the past few weeks. I think in the politics CV thread, someone mentioned reaching out to local food pantry’s to set up a grab and go food service for these kids. I hope they figure something out kim22.

FYI, not sure if it's been discussed, but studies have shown the virus surviving on surfaces for up to 9 days and may have been how it arrived in WA. Lysol those Amazon packages that are direct from China.
