I guess I don't get the schools closing thing. I realize kids can be carriers, but they're not at high risk of actually getting sick. It also doesn't do much to close schools if everything else is still open. 🤷♀️

Teachers, staff, volunteers can all get it. Essentially, they are hoping, I assume, that with schools closed you then stay at home and prevent the spread.

Morning ladies!
I just read a post from one of my step brothers, who is currently stationed in South Korea with the Air Force, that all military has been put on a 'stop movement order.' He had some time off scheduled and was going to travel and he's now stuck. He is not happy about it.

I guess so, but with everything else still open and probably at least 1 parent still working and going in and out of the house it still keeps things circulating. Also these responses are too late in most communities. They waited until it probably already spread a lot.

Some families are definitely in a bind that are moving there, Bc they’ve sold homes or ended leases here in the states and now they’re in limbo.

So while I still believe college kids are getting together to party, their gatherings are smaller than being in a classroom with 400 other people. We're in mitigation mode now.

Morning!
Both kids will be in school today and I don’t have any volunteer stuff or plans, so I will have 2 lovely hours to myself 🙌🏻
DH and I have been talking about ‘the house’ ad nauseum, and I think we want to make an offer(!!!) I’m going to go down next week and take one more look and take some measurements, etc.

Morning.
Work today. It’s slow. Not mad. I can continue to drown in the news. I have never watched so much CNN and MSNBC since before the impeachment inquiry and because of the upcoming election and coronavirus I’m all in. Last night’s coverage after 45s speech was something. I finally turned it off at 12am to go to bed.
Yesterday the tennis coach asked Mh to go to the tournament with them this weekend because they needed another driver. Since it’s spring break, he and M are going. It’s in our old city in AL. M is so excited. He even helped me pack for him last night. So just me and M2 for the next few days.

And just because kids aren't a high risk, get enough of them together and some one is going to get it. A man just gave it to his wife and 3 year old child.

I just sent an email to the partners asking what plans, if any, they have in place. I know half of them don't wash their hands. I'm already having to fork over quite a bit of my end of year paycheck to cover vacation hours that have accumulated over the last several years that they have now decided to do something about, what happens if my kid's school goes the way of the university and extends spring break a week? Is my kid allowed here? I certainly can't afford a random week of full time daycare. They are acting like it's the common cold and we all just keep on trucking and for the most part I was fine with that when it wasn't here, but now it's here and I would like to know if they are at the very least going to start actively washing their hands!!!

That’ll be fun for both your H and M, and you and M2 lahdeedah. It’s nice to have one-on-one time with each kid every once in awhile (also serves to remind me how easy I had it with just 1, lol)

My firm has done nothing. At least the school district and daycare have sent out emails and phone calls. My boss told the office manager to put an extra hand sanitizer out and to tell us not to shake people's hands when they come in.

Head partner came into my office to discuss my email. In essence we should just pray about it and everything will be fine. I'm not shitting you, that was his take away from it all. WTF??

The lack of preparation is astounding but look at the pisspoor leadership we've had from up top. We've had meetings at work but no real plans discussed. Our boss asked if patients flying in from out of state can be cancelled for the time being (these are not crucial cases that need to be seen ASAP) but last I heard there was no response and we were still flying in people from areas with little to no infection to the hotbed in Seattle. 🤦♀️ That was a reasonable request and not panicking like buying every sheet of toilet paper in the area.

This attitude pisses me off. Yes, in the end most people will be fine. A lot will get sick but a lot will recover. But it sure would suck to be among the 5% who don't recover so it doesn't hurt to take extra precautions to protect the vulnerable. I put it in the same category as "I didn't use a car seat when I was 5 and I made it out alive" mentality. Well good for you. Little Johnny and Susie died because they weren't either but they're not here to share an anecdote.

I'm not necessarily worried about myself, but half the partners are in their upper 60s-70s, one of whom just had major heart surgery a few months ago. His doctor wouldn't even let him travel to Dallas last week. And Smokey the Secretaries husband is homebound on a respirator 24/7. Like have some freaking consideration for them!
One of them is currently laughing in the lobby about how he got some great deals on flights to Florida for spring break since everyone else is cancelling.
Like, I just can't with these people.

Smokey just responded to my email (since head partner decided to forward it to the whole firm) commenting on how she is constantly washing her hands because of her sick husband. She is full of shit. I sit by the freaking bathroom. There is no way she can piss and wash her hands in 10 seconds flat. Half the time she doesn't even bother to flush. At the end of the email she said, "I hope I don't loose my puppy to this virus". That's right folks, she is more concern about her dog than her husband who is on a respirator.
I need to find somewhere else to work.

The antibiotics I'm on have now caused a woman issue. I called the pharmacy to ask them to refill the prescription from when I had this issue a few months ago. I then called my drs office to ask them to prescribe more, since I'm on antibiotics for another week. They said the pharmacy would have to fax a refill request. Why is this so hard. Just give me the damn pills.
And why is Diflucan not available OTC? I feel like women know when they have this issue. We can be trusted with it. What else are people going to do with this pill???

Spring football is canceled and now the tennis trip is off. I mean. I didn’t expect that here just yet. We just got our first presumptive case and it’s an hour south of us. No word on the public schools yet. I’m thinking they may follow suit, but I hope not. This is crazy.
