I’m glad it’s Friday... I’m 1 mile from the babysitters house 😂 on my way to get the kiddo. MH is on his way with an air tank and a floor jack (much better than the piddly ass jack that comes with vehicles). I’ve had 4 people stop to offer help. Lol.

Any tips for keeping an active boys hair in place all day? I’ve tried so many gels and am now doing pomades. The current one (one of the few that doesn’t smell like a 20yo trying to get laid) holds longer than the gels but still becomes a mess. Basically I want it to stay like this but it doesn’t hold and then looks like the second pic. He just had a haircut so it is about the length in the second pic right now but it’s the same general idea. This may just be me but I don't style my 6 year olds hair, especially for everyday hair. I didn't realize this was a thing and I'm ehhh about it

wineallthetime I don't do anything for J's hair either. If it's a picture I'll push it to the side. I realized maybe I should so something when my MIL told him to comb his hair before school and he was so confused. We basically towel dry and that's it.😂🤦

Hi👋 survived the week. I'm pooped and all my kids have coughs. We remembered we have Albuterol finally, so hoping that helps. We are also probably refinancing again, so another adulting task I hate to do, but will bring down our monthly payment substantially.
Tomorrow home Depot has their kids activity to make binoculars but we have a work release, so I have to be online, boo.

Cute slenle, love it. I do J's hair during the week generally in three connecting pony tails down the back of her head, since she naps at daycare it's always a disaster by the time she comes home. I'll try some cooler ones when she is in the pre k room since there arent any naps. As some of you may know from my snap chat story, she doesnt allow me to brush her hair on the weekend home days and rocks the bed head look, it's adorable. Why are we not snapchat friends?!

My mom told jack to get a comb and he said "a what?" 😄

I dont think I actually checked in after making the thread. M went back to school today. MJ was extremely clingy to me today. Literal velcro baby. I have lunch and pottery painting date with some friends tomorrow and A is taking all 3 kids to a birthday party by himself. This is his first outing with all 3 solo. I'm hoping it goes well but also hoping he sees how long and hard my days are. I'm very much looking forward to the time away.

I will run a comb through the boys hair but only style it for special occasions like holidays or picture days. Also tallb chrisy01 I just saw your Home Depot post and thought it sounded fun. I looked it up and it seems they cancelled the classes due to Coronavirus fears! Maybe only by me? But definitely check before you go.

Maybe they’ll have the kits we can take home.

I have the same issue with Charlie, wedding. I always forget to ask his hair dresser what she uses bc his hair is rock steady all day after a cut.

jewels, a school over the border to our county just closed bc of the virus. I hate to think it’s a matter of time here but MHs school has already put distance learning plans in place.

A student at a neighbouring school has the virus (16yo), the child and the family are quarantined, the school is still open 🤷🏼♀️.

L’s school announced they would do virtual learning if they have to close the school. My school is already virtual so I’m ok. I don’t even want to talk about work and the risk of closing down.

A town 5 minutes from me just announced a test closing day - I guess to see how distance learning would go as well as to thoroughly clean the schools. I just can’t fathom the whole system closing down, but it seems like that’s where we are headed. How would distance learning even look for our kids? It’s so hands on I just can’t imagine

jewels they have the kits you can go down and pick them up and watch a video online. Kids do not need to be present to get the kit.

Hi friends! The days have just been going too quickly and I’ve been reading at night and then passing out. I hope everyone is doing well! I can French braid and fishtail. I can sort of do the inverted ones (they have a name and I forget what they’re called now) but those are messier than a traditional braid when i do them. Today I did the topsy-tail trick on Josie’s hair. Does anyone remember that tool? I don’t use it, but I separate above the hair tie and loop her ponytail through twice. It’s called a Dutch braid. Yes, we had a topsy tail growing up.

When I was in HS I refused to cut my hair, and it’s super thick. For cheerleading I would put it in a messy bun but it wouldn’t hold great and it annoyed my coach. So she started French braiding it before games. A lot of times she’d do it into 2 braids coming from the top, 2 braids coming from the bottom and then making messy buns where they met. It was cute. I would let my sister French braid my hair sometimes but she would pull my hair so I didn’t love when she did it. S always wants Elsa or Anna braids so I do my best but like I said, they start falling apart a few hours after I put them in. H’s hair is just as thick as mine so all those cute little pony tail looks would never work on her. I keep practicing braids and at some point I will be good at them. I’ve mastered the ballet bun, although the stick straight hair issue also causes problems with those too.

trtlcrzy I had really straight hair as a kid and when I needed my hair in a ballet bun for recitals my mom put sugarwater and one of those nets over it, it became solid as a rock 😂.

I use a ton of gel, hairspray, and a hairnet for H when she performs. For their weekly dance class I just do my best with Bobby pins and a little bit of hairspray.
