Since it is common to all of us we have been talking about the presidential race in the super Tuesday thread but I thought a place to talk about other races might be useful.

I'm excited that Gina Ortiz Jones is officially the nominee for Will Hurd's seat. The Republican side is going to a run off between a 45 ass kisser and a more moderate dude. She was so close to flipping that seat in 2018. MJ Hegar is going to a run off but she got 2x as many votes as the next challenger. I know she is a longshot against Cornyn but I hope she can make some headway.

We've obviously got the House race. That's basically the only one that matters. Everything else either has no Dem candidate or only one (not a lot different on GOP side either, most people are running unopposed). And the House race has all of 2 candidates. One whom I wholeheartedly support and helped campaign for in 2018. I will again in the fall, but too busy with Girl Scouts right now to be of any help.
The other I've barely heard anything about, but now she's a much more progressive candidate who is not that popular. There's no way my district will elect a progressive. there's too much red in it, so if we want to flip the seat, the moderate is a better bet.

We have two challengers for Rischs seat. that primary is in May. Either of them would be millions times better than him.

Mark Warner is up for re-election, and Uncle Gerry too. Gerry usually wins our district by a landslide but I’ll do my part for him and Sen. Warner.
I also want to volunteer for Amy McGrath because McConnell needs to gtfo.

Our district has 3 people running to replace Zeldin. The primary is at the end of April, same day as the presidential primary here. My favorite of the 3 has the lowest chance of winning the primary but I'll volunteer for any of their campaigns in the general. GTFO Zeldin.

I'm really hoping Jaime Harrison can send Lindsey Graham home.
I really like the Democratic challenger to our House rep (Gowdy's former seat who was taken by someone probably more awful) but I don't think she has a great chance, but I'll certainly support her.

Sen. Gary Peters is up for re-election in MI. He's not a terribly exciting guy, but he's a good one and fights hard (if quietly) for the state. He's up against John James, an up and coming Trumpublican businessman and vet. He ran against Stabenow, too, and lost handily to her but I think he'll be more successful against Peters. It scares me.
And, please please please let this finally be the year we unseat Fred Upton in the MI06.

I appreciate how you described Gary. So accurate.

Steve the governor guy - reports floating. And, oops, definitely got my western states mixed up! Sorry! Should have been Montana.
