Good morning! It is supposed to get to 54 today and I'm pumped. It'll be the first day in the 50s of this year. I'm currently at work and had my first random person comment on my pregnancy. She was very nice, but it caught me off guard because she was with the patient I was registering so I was focused on that. Normally at work I wear a fleece because it's cold, but I got warm this morning so I took it off. I'm here until 2 and then I told DD2 that we can go to the zoo. I hope I don't regret that decision later tonight. I have to be very mindful about how I'm walking.

Ugh I wish. We are getting another 1-2 feet of snow tomorrow. My boys have been sick since Wednesday with a bizarre virus. Fever and pain (belly/head) being the main symptoms l, little cough developing on the tail end of it. So I haven't slept in a few nights because fevers kept spiking. They're both well on the mend today finally. Except now I have a bad cough (back to peeing my pants again from it), headache, and just feeling terrible. No fever yet though. Bright side, my doctor officially took me off work on Thursday like I anticipated, so at least I don't have that to worry about.

Sorry your family is sick, do you think it’s influenza?

Holy warm weather trtlcrzy! It was 15* this morning. We went sliding anyway because it wasn’t windy. We lasted a little while before my H somehow ran over the 3 year old. Talk about father of the year. So my ILs told us the other day that they booked an air bnb near us for a few days this summer. This was never discussed beforehand. They have only been up to visit us 3 times in the past 12 years of living here, so it’s not like it was expected. Fortunately, we just cancelled another trip we had planned for the same days. I mean, we are happy they are coming, but wouldn’t you at least drop a message, “hey, we found a place for these days, are you around?”. My H and I just shook our heads.

hangry my MIL does the same thing with planning trips. She won’t wait for me to confirm dates before booking something. And then if I say it doesn’t work (like one of the times she tried to come was when DH and I were in Fiji), she’ll be like ‘oh thank goodness southwest doesn’t have change fees.’ A normal person would wait for date confirmation before booking cross country flights. She’s coming next week. We’re going on a quick ski trip for two nights. Leaving in a couple hours since today was tball opening day. It was so much packing and is going to be really expensive for kids lessons but we’re going with our friends who we love and don’t see very often so that’s why we’re doing it. It will be good to spend time with them - we rented a house together. I will be hanging with DS2 tomorrow while DH and the kids ski and snowboard with our friends. But at least I can relax a bit while he naps with no one else around. Then we come back Monday, see my parents who fly in today to spend a month at their condo here, then I have to fly at 9 pm Monday night to New Mexico for work. I have another flying day trip next Thursday, then we’re potty training DS2 next weekend, then MIL arrives to stay with us. I’m having trouble not freaking out about the craziness we have coming up.

Sorry your family is sick, do you think it’s influenza? I didn't think so initially, because the cough didn't start (for the boys) until 2 days into the fever and aches. Plus we all had our flu shots, which I know aren't 100%. I did mention the boys symptoms to my doctor when I saw her Thursday (we were on day 2 at that point) and she said she's seeing a lot of it lately in kids (weird fever, not influenza) and it's lasting anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks in some!!! Boys seem to be mostly over the fever part and just coughing now so I'm feeling like they are good, and I'm gonna keep an eye to my symptoms where I'm pregnant. I know fever is bad, at what point do you worry (pregnancy)?

I was the first man down with the flu and the doctor gave me tamiflu because I’m “high risk”. My fever didn’t get above 102, mostly I was just congested with a cough the first 2 days, by day 3 I had a massive sinus headache that lasted a couple days. My daughters’ cases were much less severe.

I’m jealous of your warm weather trtlcrzy! It is getting warmer here but not that high yet!Expected to get cold again though which sucks but at least we’ve made it through most of winter, so it’s manageable knowing winter is almost done! hangry haha was your DS okay?! I’m also mother of the year because as long as no one is seriously hurt I can’t help but laugh at stuff like that! We took DS tobogganing last weekend and the nose of his sled got stuck in a snow bank (not a very good hill lol) and he rolled off and rolled down the hill. I couldn’t stop laughing (but did make sure he was okay). sdlaura good luck with the potty training!! Hope it goes smoothly. Enjoy your short trip, hope you get great weather. danib I hope you don’t catch what your boys have been battling 🤞 Was asking my DS if he’s sure this baby is a girl (I don’t know if I feel it’s a girl anymore). He said “yes, it is going to be a girl but it’s gonna be a weird one” and I asked him what he meant and he said “oh you’ll see when she comes out”. then he starts laughing.... 😳 lol so I said what do you mean. He said “she’s going to have weird hair, I just know I saw the picture”. Soooo that’s fun I hope that’s all that will be weird lol 🤣🤣

I’m glad I was at the top of the hill and was able to pull it together before they got back up to me and she was still crying. She does have a couple scratches on her face. Minor, so she’s fine.

Warm weekend indeed! It was 80° (F) here today! I am nooot ready for winter to be over yet. 😭 Luckily it's supposed to cool down and rain again on Monday. Yay!
Ladies, I need your help/opinions! I went thru the first container of baby clothes I saved from ds to see if any of it could be reused. I am just at a loss though about what to have this new baby sleep in! DS was born in November and so I have a whole lot of long sleeve/footie sleepers from 0-6ish months, but I'm not sure if that is going to be practical to put this summer baby in. But is it also practical to put him in just a onsie for sleeping? It is typically 110°+ for a good 5-6 wks throughout July/August, but of course the air conditioning will be on inside the house. I feel like I'm probably overthinking this!?

twopeas I had a June baby. It doesn’t get nearly as warm here, but I kept him in a onesie and then swaddle at night. I didn’t use swaddles for long and then had him in long sleeve sleepers at night or in the house. We have central air and I’m pretty sure I made it cooler in the house than I would have otherwise so that he didn’t overheat. Outside, he mostly just wore onesies and I always had a Muslin blanket draped over him or his car seat or stroller.

We keep the AC in our house set at 69 at night so I want her to be comfortable. If it ends up being to hot, at that point I'll reassess. I have seen short sleeve/shorts sleepers at children's place but I don't know how small they sell them.

Good morning! I'm at work again and my shift is 1/2 way over. It's going to be another nice day, not as warm as yesterday but I'll still take it. After I get home from work I'll probably take a nap and then we are going to the IL's for supper to celebrate DD2's bday. This baby has really enjoyed kicking at my pelvic bone this weekend. I don't mind, it doesn't hurt, and I am hoping it's a long time before she finds my cervix.

twopeas DD is an August baby it sounds like we live in similar climates. I think the sleeping clothes depend on how you keep your A/C in the house. It's too expensive to cool our house much lower than around 78*, so a onesie was fine for the most part. I also like the thinner cotton footie pajamas for when we're going somewhere that I know will be cooler inside. Of course, I also did a lot of onesies with a thin blanket when she was in the car seat so I could adjust for temperature.

Has anyone ever had food poisoning while pregnant? I was eating a wrap today at the mall and after my first bite (one piece and a half maybe) I noticed the chicken looked really pink. So I took it back and he was really apologetic and recooked it but now I’m freaked out.
My H is trying to reassure me that I didn’t eat that much of it but I’m still worried. Ughhhh. I guess can’t do anything about it now but if I get sick to keep an eye on it to make sure I’m not getting dehydrated? Anything else to be doing?

I think it's safe now, 4 hours later and I feel fine. Thanks for the reassurance though! You basically can't do anything while pregnant, so I was over-reacting lol. But from what I was reading about eating one piece of raw chicken while pregnant the options were so varied from you will basically kill your baby to it's fine don't worry so I didn't know what to think.

aries I have a more sensitive stomach while pregnant. Especially during my first pregnancy with my daughter. There were multiple times where I ate the same thing as everyone else and I was the only one to get food poisoning. I spent the night before my BFF’s wedding at 35 weeks puking all night
