Hey, so I intro’d but haven’t been participating... I’m currently 23 weeks with my third (due 6/24). I’m just curious what other’s experience with BH is like.
I thought it was more of a first time mom thing but I started having some today and it caught me off guard. Has anyone had them with subsequent pregnancies? Did you find they started earlier?
I don’t think I had any with DS2. Had them with DS1 in the last couple of weeks. I actually thought it was just him stretching until I was having a NST and they let me know. I just had an appointment Monday and all was well. They aren’t painful, just that familiar tightening at the top of my abdomen. I’m mostly curious if this is common in later pregnancies and if I can look forward to them for the next 4 months, or maybe I’m just having an off day. Also, the baby is breech so part of me wondered if maybe he was preparing to flip. Sorry for the word vomit.

I have Braxton Hicks if I walk to far, too fast. It feels like my whole tummy is tight and sometimes I will have a pain in my right side. It goes away after I slow down/stop walking. I had the same with DD2. I didn’t have any BH with my first pregnancy at all. Towards the end of my pregnancy with DD2 I had more of the timetable BH, which I assume will happen this time around but earlier.

I've had them with all 3 of my pregnancies. They definitely started earlier this time around. Oddly enough I usually get them at night in bed. Not every night, but that seems to be the most consistent time.

Thanks ladies! I always heard they were just for practice so I’m like..ok, wouldn’t my body have it down by now?? Especially since I don’t remember having them last pregnancy. Good to know I’m not alone!

Yes I think BH are common with every pregnancy. I have been getting them since probably 22 weeks or so. I get probably at least 10 a day now mid-way through my 31st week. I also get more of them because my body is expanding even more rapidly due to two babies growing at once. They just feel like my stomach tightening and it's more uncomfortable to stand or walk until it's over.

I cant remember exactly when they started with DS1&2 but I remember it being in my second trimester. I'm 24 weeks today and I have been having them for about a week and a half now. Only when I have been really active or at the end of the day though.
