Wow mwhip, that's exciting! No matter what you decide, I think it's great that your skills are obviously in demand and you have the opportunity to do these interviews. Never hurts to see what else is out there.

Trucking along here. Taking the girls to STEM night at their school tonight. I've got sucked into Blind Love. It's so bad/good. I also have never watched the American version of The Office and I'm about 1/3 through it now. Very good. I loved the British version and I feel that this stands on its own. I had no idea Ann from Parks and Rec was in it. Mind is blown that you are just watching this now. So many great people in that show. I kind of want to listen to Jenna Fischer's podcast for each episode, I've heard it's great.

I've seen a few episodes here and there over the years but just never watched the whole thing. It is refreshing to see normal looking people on TV. I mean, yeah, I enjoy eye candy here and there, but it definitely makes it more realistic that these people actually look like they work in an everyday office.

Okay tapa is acting sooooo weird. It’s posting my posts three times and then not. so if you see me deleting posts it’s because of that, not because I’ve wanted to keep something to myself... It’s being very weird. I only know of some posts because of a reply or tag and I have to go back and find the original post.

If you (general ‘you’) have ever held a job, you can relate to this show. We’ve all known coworkers (co-irkers!) like some of the characters.

joelies, I hope that dr gets back to you soon tgrimes - I would def take her to a dermatologist. My friend is a derm NP and she sees tons of kids. She feels strongly that the pedis don't know what to do with skin and that they should be seen by a specialist. mwhip - if the price was right, do you think you would want the job?

jewels I don't know. It's much closer to home. It was a weird interview. I talked to the VP of the company last night (did not realize that was his position) and had a great conversation. Today was him, HR, and their production manager. The production manager asked pretty much all the questions, about stuff that I never would have imagined him asking. I was sharing how I had done a sourcing project last summer and contacted multiple supplier, put the information together, made my recommendations, then forwarded it onto upper management and no one did anything with it. He asked how many times I followed up. Once, because I know how things are here. He was like, that's every company, you should have kept following up regularly until it was taken care of. OK. It was like he was reprimanding me. In an interview. Having zero idea the dynamics of this company. Plus he mentioned that he has heard multiple complaints about micro managing, which I don't handle well. I don't really even know if they are interested in pursuing me. I've come up with a few questions (% of travel, benefits/PTO, what their work hours are, training) that I will send before I leave work and see if they are really interested before I spend more time figuring out $$. I also want to talk to H more about it. I know we could make it work with both of us travelling as he doesn't travel as much anymore. But I just want to get his thoughts on it.

Yikes mwhip, suggesting right in an interview that it's your job to manage up by constantly 'checking in'. That's a major red flag. Hopefully you have some time and can chat it over with YH to bounce the idea around.

I was invested and I think when it was on Thursdays up against Grey's is when I stopped watching that. My co-workers and I all watched and would discuss each week. I still have a hard time not seeing John Krasinski as anyone but Jim.. it did go a few seasons too long, but still great holding power.

My job isn't to babysit. I present you the facts and my recommendations and if you don't do anything with it, that's on you. I think I did follow up a few more times, I don't remember the details from last summer. But damn. It was just weird.

Agree with vino, @whip. That’s kind of strange and condescending saying “that’s every company.” Like a lecture on business 101 or something. That’s actually not every company and it already sounds weird and dysfunctional. Do you know anyone who works there who can give you a read on the culture?

The boys are cracking me up.
Dude picked me a radish from the school garden, and on the way home X shouted “Happy Christmas!” each time he blew on a dandelion.
Now X is napping, Dude wrapped up one of his Christmas gifts to give as a late Valentine, and he’s writing out a lecture on the whiteboard about how eating too many treats leads to cavities and diabetes.
“Cavities are when bugs eat your teeth, and diabetes is when they have to cut off your toes, maybe your feet, and then you die.”

It goes on for too long, and I made the mistake of reading the reviews which paint Fisher as desperate, self absorbed and condescending toward Kinsey, and makes a play that Kinsey doesnt have much to say so she repeats what her cohost says. Unfortunately, it’s all I hear right now. I think they could have done a limited run of the top episodes. All of that to say, I probably will keep listening because I love any bts stuff (even if it’s boring)

So my brother heard from the doctor. His original diagnosis stands and he suggested we get in touch with my Mom's PCP to setup an appointment to refer her to talk to someone, because this is clearly too stressful of a situation for her to handle on her own. My brother is angry but less emotional than me, so we brainstormed on how to handle things, which is really to say that he offered to make the phone calls/emails and I told him what to communicate. Heh. He's going to follow-up with our Aunt to say hey, we ARE involved in this and on top of his diagnosis, and by the way, this is what his actual doctor has to say vs. my Mom's armchair diagnosis. My brother had felt like she was overstepping originally, plus she's never spent considerable enough amounts of time with my parents to know about my Mom's dramatic tendencies, so I'm hoping he can stay calm. He's also going to reach out to my Dad directly because we aren't sure HE knows what my Mom is saying, as I've heard from my Aunt and from my Mom, specifically on texts with my Dad removed. He's going to approach my Dad from the perspective of us being concerned for my Mom, which to be fair, we ARE. She has refused to talk to anyone under the guise that my Dad needs her around the clock, so maybe he can help give her that push she needs to take care of herself. This whole thing is stressful enough, no one needs the added stress of constantly thinking the sky is falling. That said, my brother or I will be at the next appointment to hear the updates with our own ears. Thank goodness he and I are on the same page.

I'm glad you have your brother for support through this too joelies. That has to be so frustrating with your mom. But the perfect excuse to be the information providers to everyone. "Mom, you've got so much on your plate, let us handle this..."

joelies I am sorry that you still haven't gotten the straight story from the dr about your dad. I hope you get some answers soon. Happy Birthday S trtlcrzy! wineallthetime I don't do much with my hair either. And I always just get all over color. But the person doing it usually seems shocked I don't want to get all fancy with the highlights or bayalage (?sp). I just want to cover my greys! cagoldi way to go X!! Thats great news! We struggle with S being motivated to eat. She can use a fork...but shes not great at it. She prefers to use her hands. Lol. But the motivation isn't there. So we basically have to put the food in her mouth for her. She will eat it that way no problem. This is my tricky part. I've only colored my hair twice but it was with someone who moved and I never paid attention. I asked her to do something that would grow out nice since I'm not one to be going to the salon a ton. She did some sort of all over color that she said would fade a tad over time so I wouldn't get the harsh grow out line, then she put highlights (and lowlights? Guys, no clue) in perfect spots that you couldn't really see the root. And they were very subtle to begin with. I will likely walk out with clown hair Fri cause I'm clueless.

joelies As someone with a dramatic mother I know how hard it can be to dig through the weeds and get what you need. I’m glad the Dr was up front with you guys. I know you want to see your dad on your birthdays and get to VT. It may be doable but I’m worried you are burning yourself out. It’s ok not to be all things to all people right now and maybe things have to be put on the back burner for a bit. I’m sending you all the love and energy. I’m sure you are just drained. As for Chase, my C has never done well with negative reinforcement. He either doesn’t give a crap or really escalates. Usually the former. He responds very well to the prize bin at aftercare which was his preschool. It’s little trinkets, stickers, tattoos, etc that he would get for doing good things and being helpful. For him, having an immediate tangible reward was important and it made him try harder the next day to get another.
