joelies sorry your mom is ringing the alarm bells. I’m glad they signed off so that you and your brother can talk to the doctor. I hope you hear back soon. chrisy01 that changes my opinion a bit. H went to an in home daycare and at 2 I felt she wasn’t getting enough mental stimulation so I would switch her. If I hadn’t switched to staying at home after S was born I would have switched H to a center. Is the $100 extra a month for a whole year or just until she’s potty trained?

I’m finally back home after doing 1000 things while S was at school. I got in to see the chiro after my PT appt and I’m glad they were able to fit me in. I talked to the body shop and I have to drop my car off on Friday for the day so they can re-wash it and assess it. Hopefully it won’t take all day. S is eating lunch right now and then we will be laying down for a nap. I need to strip my bed and bleach my sheets after last week. It’s another nice day so when H gets home from school we will probably play outside again before the snow comes tonight and makes it cold again for the next few days.

I'm sorry tgrimes , I hope you feel better soon! chrisy01 What are the differences b/n daycare and preschool at her current age? Would she be doing dramatically different stuff? Yes. She’s currently at an in home daycare which does some things with her but not very much. At preschool they do activities and start teaching and they will potty train. Daycare didn’t really help L potty train either Obviously I have no experience with any kind of DC but I personally do like a little bit of structure, activities, etc. Mine both started part-time preschool the fall they turned 2 and they've enjoyed it, especially C. She loves all the crafts, singing, etc. And of course the outdoor playtime. So for $100, if it doesn't make a huge dent in your budget, I'd go for it.

chrisy01 I think that changes my answer too. Assuming you can afford the $100/month, I would probably move her.

Good afternoon! chrisy01 I can see the benefit of both. Would your commute change at all if you were to bring E to preschool? joelies, all of that sounds so stressful and confusing. I hope you and your brother get the true story from the doctor and set the third round of chemo goes well for your dad.

Thought I was golden with the 3 older kids playing quietly in the basement while I cleaned upstairs. I hear a cry, run down and blood everrryyywwwhhheeerrreeee. My niece pushed her little sister into the train table and she got a gash on the back of head. Luckily she's fine and bleeding stopped. Heads really can bleed, wow!

joelies I’m sorry for all the extra, hopefully unnecessary, stress and anxiety. I hope your mom is just over exaggerating. Hope you and your brother get the right answers soon. chrisy01 Yeah, I would consider the preschool if you can swing it. wineallthetime Yikes. Glad everyone is ok and the bleeding stopped.

I’m taking a half day tomorrow. I’ve spend the whole day running around and didn’t have to drink a cup of coffee while sitting down. And my house is still a mess. Ds’s teacher still isn’t coming back, so no school tomorrow or the day after. I did a lice check because we got word from school that one of the kids in ds’ school had lice and sure enough dd had nits... no lice wtf. All for of us have long and very thick hair, I spend 2.5 hours combing and treating all four of us. Im just done.

Yuck nam2013, that is one of my biggest fears. And DH and the boys all keep their hair quite short. But still, no thank you.

My brother hasn't heard back from the doctor but we kind of assumed it would be an end of the day (if not tomorrow) conversation.
In other news, I pulled out an old copy of an accounting standard and found a 5x7 of newborn Colin hiding between old files. I keep staring at it, trying to see him in it but I just see some weird alien baby that sort of resembles my brother as a young child. Weird.

I’m sorry joelies, that sounds like a lot. I hope you and your brother can get a better idea of the ‘reality’ from your dad’s physicians—hopefully it’s not as bad as your mom has made it sound. I have a friend who goes to the absolute worst case scenario/100 steps ahead every time (specifically with medical stuff). I’m not sure if it’s an attention-seeking mechanism or what but it can be exhausting to listen to/deal with.

chrisy01 what are the main differences btwen daycare and prek? Is it an in home daycare? Age appropriate stuff? Tv allowed? I'd factor in all those things. Yes she uses tv quite a bit now I'd pay to switch to daycare. I don't mind screen time, but I want it to be at home and for me to get the break when it's on.

Stopped at the dance store before class. It is right across the street from class and we had 45 minutes. I thought we could just size up and be done, but the dude wanted to try so many freaking sizes. If I said our current pair is a 13, why in the world would you jump up to a 2?? And then down to a 12.5??? Wtf? Barely got Cadence changed in time for class. 🙄

chrisy01 I would send her to pre-k if you can swing the extra $100. She’ll be potty trained before you know it and would probably enjoy the structure. joelies I’m really sorry for everything you and your family are going through. I hope it’s not the doomsday scenario that your mom is describing.
