It’s the weekend!

We all went to see Jumangi this afternoon. It was good. Some scary parts and a little swearing but overall it was pretty cool and C loved it. Tomorrow C and DH are going to Boston to do a walk supporting DHs work. I considered going but I would have to be up at 6:30am and this high tomorrow is just above freezing. I hate not to go but I know I’ll be a grump. After the walk they are going to the Legoland discovery center so they will have fun. My plan is to sleep, do groceries, and hit up TJMaxx.

DH is flying tonight...he took a buddy with him for company which is good, b/c night flights make me nervous.

Kids are fed, bathed, and asleep, and everything's cleaned up, so I'm now in bed with a brownie. Trying to decide if I should read or watch TV. This is when I really miss having a bathtub.

Hi hi, I went to a friend's open house for her friend that has a clothing line that has lotion built into the fabric. It was nice to see her and meet her babies. Of course I had to buy something, so got k a new hat and j a shirt since he has the driest skin..also best chance of shirt getting it's money's worth being passed down since it was not cheap.

Otherwise organized and cleaned a bit, got Chipotle takeout and bought Valentine's. I did join a FB group for wavy hair and I apparently kids shampoo is often recommended...I'm going to try the kids Aveeno shampoo and get the Johnson & Johnson curly hair leave in conditioner, which people are raving about

Our PTO bought out the local college ice rink for all the students and their families. It was so much fun! It was my first time in 10 years and I didn't fall once! It was the boys first time and M was a natural! One of the hockey players there told us to get him in lessons. So we might look into that.

MH and I volunteered and attended a charity event last night which was fun. We got home at 11 and C and L were still awake though, ugh!

Morning! More taping today... trust me this looks very easy, but it took us 4 hours, to get the feel and the angles right. Hopefully the fillers at the ceiling dry soon and we can paint it this weekend

We had some friends come over for dinner last night. One day MH will understand time management skills while cooking and have dinner on the table on time. I even told him to prep stuff before they got here. He technically started an hour before they arrived, but he had to make homemade tahini sauce and tzaziki, which took forever. He also loves to use every pot, pan, appliance we have. So many dishes.

Anyway, I will do something easy the next time we have people over for dinner.

I have really had to work on this over the years; either I’d choose stuff that was very complicated, or start chatting and lose track of time.

It’s hard bc I tend to be a perfectionist and I want to do it all. But I’ve learned that most ppl are just happy to not have to cook, so if you serve a bagged salad or a dessert from the store, oh well. Plus I want to be able to mingle and not slaving away in the kitchen while everyone else has fun.

Thanks everyone. Time has been going so slow, yet so fast at the same time this pregnancy. I stayed up way too late last night and then DH woke me up early to ask a dumb question. I just wanted to sleep in dang it. My boss sent out a text asking for someone to work this afternoon so I’m going to do it. It’ll be nice to work without having to train someone.

cagoldi sorry you’re body is rebelling against you. I hope it calms down soon.

I’m sitting here supervising DH cleaning out his bureau. Lots of old T-shirts, fishing shirts and workout clothes that need to hit the road.

We were going to take the kids to see Spies in Disguise but it’s not playing anywhere here! Bummer. So not sure what we will do now.

My dad emailed my sister and me late yesterday that he and my mom would like to treat us all to a long-weekend at the beach sometime this spring. Hoping we can work it out for our spring break week in April, bc otherwise I don’t know that we can do it (since we are already pulling B out of school for a week next month). Fingers crossed, tho, bc I’d love an excuse to get out of the cold here.

Work has been insane this weekend. I saw double what's considered a busy day yesterday. I passed out early last night. Today has been ok so far and this afternoon we have a work party. We're going bowling so that should be fun. The different teams all have gift baskets to raffle and we went with mystery box (it has an Amazon gift card inside), but I think the nurses are going to beat us again with their awesome Disney box. It has Baby Yoda stuff in it. Baby Yoda--that's like cheating because he's so dang cute.

Re: summer camps

I can't remember how much the YMCA camps are around here but I think they're about $185/week. Cass is obsessed with horses and asked me the other day when she's going to get to ride. I looked up equestrian camp--$750 per week.  Holy $$$ Batman! One lesson a week is $160/month so I might talk to MH about that, but with 2 kids that's $320 so it goes up fast. Sheesh.

Hiiii. Just got back from a birthday party for one of Chase's friends at the usual spot, a bounce house place right around the corner from our house. I was planning to book Chase's party while we were there, only to find out that they are moving and only renting out moving forward. I'm bummed, we had Col's 4th birthday there and it's so easy and convenient. Back to the drawing board.

DH took Colin to basketball game and will be gone most of the afternoon. That gives me a couple hours to myself once Chase goes down for his nap. Woohoo!!

They decided I needed incision and drainage, so they cut me open in the ER, gave me morphine, then admitted me for several rounds of Vancomycin. They’re going to keep me at least another day.

Pete said all the kids are sick, so I hope they are just wanting to take it easy. My sister is bringing me some toiletries soon and then going over to help Pete at the house for a bit.

Lolz, the nurses may be beat us with their gift basket for the raffle but we had to have won over the medics. They grabbed random stuff they had in their cars (which included a bottle of tequilla, pregnancy test, relish, kids slippers, a loaf of bread) and put it in one of the containers they use to transport blood vials.
