Age: 2.5
Milestones: Nothing new
Challenges: Arguing! He's very defiant lately.
Funny/cute stories: He's obsessed with fireflies. He gets so excited when he sees them. He stayed up late a lot over the long weekend, and every time he saw one, he would yell "I love you, firefly. Come back!"
How are you? Tired! It was a long long weekend.
Anything else? The boys' closest friends here (and mine too) are moving away tomorrow. We're bummed.
QOTW: How was your fourth? Do anything special? It was a fun weekend! We went back to our hometown and spent a lot of time with family. It was our ninth anniversary on Monday, so my parents kept the kids, and we had an entire day to ourselves to hang out in the nearest city. We ate out (and got to sit and talk after the meal!), watched a movie, went to a winery, and did a little shopping.

enchanted, my kids have been fighting a lot too. When they run out of things to argue about, they literally start fighting like cats and dogs, just meowing and barking at each other. It's such an annoying phase.

enchanted - My nieces and nephews fight like cats and dogs one minute, and the next they're best friends. FX settling back in at home helps. Hope the vacation was fun, besides the rain! hawkward - I'm so sorry your friends are moving. That's tough. Age: 4 Milestones: Not much to report. Challenges: Attitude. My goodness... the amount of sass she can slip into a sentence sometimes is astonishing LOL Funny/cute stories: She loved the parade we went to on the fourth. She kept yelling at all the marching bands, "Good job, band! You're doing great!" I mean, she was LOUD. A few musicians looked at her and you could tell they were giggling. How are you? Not great. Our furnace blew last night and our A/C runs through the furnace into the house, so we have no A/C at the moment. Thank goodness we installed ceiling fans this spring because otherwise the house would be REALLY miserable. FX it's a cheap, easy fix and not a total replacement. Anything else? Not really. Just surviving! QOTW: We went to a parade in the morning, then got lunch at J's favorite (bar) restaurant where she got to eat for free. The rest of the afternoon we spent inside because it was ungodly hot out.

Age: 2.5 years
Milestones: Using -ing words appropriately. And saying please, thank you and sorry in the right context.
Challenges: Nothing really.
Funny/cute stories: This morning when I said,"Time to go to work!" LO ran to the couch, sat down with his hand on his lower back and said,"No work today. I got a bad back. Ice, please!"
How are you? Pretty good!
Anything else? Cannot wait for vacation at end of the month!!! I have like 10 mental checklists going.
QOTW: How was your fourth? Do anything special? We had an awesome day just hanging out and playing in the yard. Then had dinner on the river as LO slept. It was really a great day, so needed.

Please may I join in? I think the loss community is the best fit for me on this board.
Age: 2 (as of June 15th).
Milestones: I am a SAHP. L loves spending time with her grandparents, but until recently we couldn't really leave her with anyone else. My most recent loss was on Monday evening. For the next four days, she had day-long playdates with someone different every day whilst I recovered, and she really enjoyed herself. This is a huge milestone for us!
Challenges: Someone let her read the manual about two year old tantrums, apparently on her birthday. Also, she's trying to give up her nap, which is really terrible timing.
Funny/cute stories: She paused in the middle of a game, leaned against me and said, with the utmost seriousness, "Ursula is the best teddy bear in the world. Vai is the best cat in the world. Mummy is the best mummy in the world."
How are you? I'm struggling a bit. Latest loss was a fortnight tomorrow, and made loss numbers four and five in thirteen months (it was twins). I'm fed up of physical symptoms and struggling to process emotional symptoms. I know it's early days, but I'm not good at being patient with myself.
Anything else? H and I are talking about this loss a lot more, with each other and with other people. I think it is already helping and will continue to do so.
QOTW: How was your fourth? Do anything special? It's an ordinary working day in the UK :-)
