New to voting or politics? Everything is overwhelming? Don’t know if or how you’re registered to vote?
There are some super knowledgeable people here and can help point you where to find out!

Ok I have a question. I have been trying to find out all the races that will be on my primary ballot next month and have not been able to do so with Google. Any resources? I live in TX.

Have you tried Ballotpedia.org? Not sure how well maintained it is for everywhere but might be a good start. Here in CA we get a sample ballot a couple of weeks prior (just got mine for Super Tuesday voting this week) in the mail that has everything on our ballot in it and write ups on the candidates and measures. For the big elections with lots to vote on we get an entire voting guide with full legislation, summary, pros/cons/rebuttals for the propositions. It’s amazing. I was shocked when I moved to Georgia and they had nothing like it. I just had to read the quick snapshot of the issue on Election Day and make a decision. It made me vote on less because I didn’t feel informed on some issues and just skipped them.

Also you can contact the county election board if they aren’t help your sec of state. The sos site shows early voting already so there should be sample ballots available

At least I can look into those for now. Otherwise I can stop by once early voting starts.

You may need to go to your county election administrator -- maybe this will get you there? www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/county.shtml

Do you have a local newspaper? Ours has a website where they cover local elections. You could also try your library, they often have election information.

You can try www.vote411.org. It’s run by the League of Women Voters and tries to compile voting/ballot info for each district.

So I have a question. I renewed my drivers license a few months ago and updated my name and address. I got my new voters card in the mail and it has my updated address but my old last name.
Do I just contact the county election board and request they fix it? This may be a basic question but I just don’t know the easiest way to correct it.

Depends on your state, but you should be able to go online to your state's voter registration and fix it.

Or just complete a new application for name change www.ok.gov/elections/documents/Oklahoma%20Voter%20Registration%20Application%20form%20v4-20%20SEB%20web.pdf
