thechickencoop, I really like that wrap pattern, and the solid matches it really well. I'm sorry it's a crappy chippy formula.

Kida post it again pretty please? I had saved a bunch of stuff she had recommended to my amazon lists but I didnt need any more top/base coats then. Now I'm just about out of my normal gel-ous base coat that generally I like so... I guess I can try switching it up.

Kida what products do you use to keep your manicure nice for that long? I love having my nails painted but I don't really bother because they inevitably chip the same day I do them. Ok so it's probably gonna sound extra but it's not too bad I swear and its worth it because you only have to do it like once a week. So I use California mango magic cutical softener after I file and shape because making sure all the dead skin is removed is very important to helping the nail polish stick and not lift at the back. Plus if I have dry cuticles, I pick at them until my Polish chips or I bleed. Next I use Orly bonder base coat. I have never ever used a better base coat. Anyways, I'm careful not to flood the cuticle because that can cause chipping later and I wrap the tip but also (and I really think this changed the game too) paint the base coat underneath my nail. Then I do a coat of polish followed by another coat of the bonder and another coat of polish. Each time I use the bonder, I paint under my nail and wrap the tip but the polish I just wrap the tip. After the second coat of polish dries, I top with one coat of Seche Vite, wrapping tips and doing underneath the nail. After that I apply one coat of American Classic Instant Artificial Nails including under the nails. Repeat one coat of seche vite. The next morning (or later that night) I add one more coat of instant nails and seche vite. It makes my nails feel like fake nails, long and strong. thechickencoop

I started doing this with my pedicures (bonder, polish, bonder, polish, and two coats of seche vite) and MY GOODNESS it has made a world of difference. It has extended the life of my pedicures long enough that I have to redo it for grow out instead of chips. Bless your heart Kida.

I’m late but my mobile photo posting method isn’t the most straightforward but it works for me. I scroll to the bottom of the page and switch from mobile view to desktop view. It’ll let you post photos normally that way but the actual site looks really funky, so I just switch back to mobile view to edit/add text.

I bought seche vite because of kida in this thread a while back and it really does make a world of difference in dry time and shine. I do base, color coat, seche vite, color coat, seche vite.
I only get a week or so before they start peeling up but no chips, and the peel could be my base coat, I dunno.

@chickencoop what brand are the wraps? Thanks! From a former poster, now mostly a lurker who enjoys this thread! They're from nailsmailed. Super cheap, I bought them off an IG or fb ad and was prepared to be disappointed but they're awesome! I usually get two weeks out of them (after 1 week I usually file down and put a new coat of top coat).

What does wrap the tip mean? In my mind it is the same as painting under the nail, but it sounds like that’s not the case. An initial YouTube search wasn’t helpful.
