lahdeedah yes, exactly. You're in my head. And I do think she's appreciative, but when I say, well, you could do ABC instead, she gets very defensive about why she *has* to attend XYZ, or it's better if my parents sit vs. her ILs, etc. It's fine if you're making these choices--to attend the weddings, to not loop your ILs in, etc--but own it. These things aren't being forced on you.

flamingo I agree with you. We miss out on a lot because we don’t have a lot of babysitting options locally. But we make those choices and live with it
