Shower games are the worst, mwhip. I’m trying to think of any that have ever been enjoyable and coming up empty.

I dropped mh off at the ophthalmologist to have a keratectomy on his left eye. Poor guy. It’s been a rough winter fot him so far. Took the kids to McDonald and ate a fillet o fish. I used to love them but this did not taste like i remember.

I have a spot on my lower eyelid that has appeared in the last few months. I am so nervous about having stuff done near/on my eyes.

flamingo, the keratectomy removes the epithelial layer (first layer) of the eyeball. M has recurrent corneal erosions (basically he get a a tear in the first layer of his eyeball if he rubs it wrong, it’s too dry, or something gets in and agitates it.) When he has a tear, they put a blank contact on it and wait for the tear to heal. If the tear is too great, they can do a keratectomy, but in MH’s case, this time, he’s had 4 or 5 minor erosions since the start of the school year so this is done in the hopes that it’ll grow back stronger (healthier?)

I am so annoyed. On Sunday morning I saw B's BFF's mom posted that she (the kid) had the norovirus and was up all night puking. I reached out to her to offer her zofran for her kid and she said she seems to be over the worst of it. This was at 11 AM. She also posted a long meme about keeping your kids home when they have been sick and not spreading the bug, even if it means missing work, etc. When MH dropped B off this morning, she was in class. I mean, maybe her last puke was prior to 8 AM on Sunday, but given how righteous she was with that meme, you'd think she'd keep her home today. But really I am just terrified my ridiculous 3 year old will lick her or something and then get the tummy bug. Oh I'd be so annoyed.

I feel so bad for your H guster. Have I ever asked if he has sleep apnea? I haven’t had one tear since my weight loss surgery that also fixed my apnea. I theorize that part of it was that I would stop breathing and jerk awake which would cause the eyelid to open or flutter and when it was cold and dry all of that exposure and constant lid movement caused tears. Every so often I will feel dry. Last night I woke up and my left eye felt funny so I put some refresh eye ointment in and was fine in the morning. Food for thought. Also I’m sorry for you too. It can be hard being the person who lives and cares for someone with chronic health issues. I hope you’re able to take care of you a bit.

mwhip easiest shower game ever- set a timer on your phone when she starts opening gifts. Whoever’s gift she is opening when it goes off wins a prize. Reset timer as many time as you’d like. T had 8 out of 17 kids out sick from his class today and C’s sitter’s father is in the hospital so I’m feeling like my chances of making it through a whole week of work are slim.

I’m hosting a baby shower with 3 of my friends at the beginning of March and there will only be around 20 guests. We had a planning meeting this weekend and decided on 3 games, but I’m going to try and avoid being involved in those. I also hate shower games. I mostly volunteered to bring food.

wedding, no sleep apnea. His is genetic. It’s called basement membrane dystrophy. The procedure he had today usually buys him a few years without the tears. There are two types of drops/ointment he uses — muro128 and a systane gel drops— to create more moisture. The biggest issue is that his doctor is 40 minutes away bc we haven’t looked into finding someone here because he he hadn’t had a problem in a while. Now that he’s bought himself some time, he can make that a priority. Eye problems are the worst. Just so painful. I’m sorry you have to deal with it.

guster That sounds like an awful procedure for YH's eye. Hopefully he's doing ok today.
