So it turns out I'm not a teenager anymore, and I cannot increase my distance without improving my stretching. Anyone have a good resource to suggest?

Nothing specific, but my PT (a runner) always recommended dynamic stretches before running, static after.
So leg swings, butt kicks, etc. before, "reaching for your toes" after.

After I like to stretch (yoga) with SarahBeth...hip flexors and hamstrings. It's rare I get that kind of time. But I like to end with 5-10 mins of yoga of whatever I can remember from her sequence. TBH, it's whatever is tight after that run.
Beforehand...high knees, butt kickers, tuck jumps, walking "hydrants"...I'm terrible beforehand. Some times (most often) I'll walk for a quarter mile, slowly build over the next and then start my run.

Definitely do static stretches after your run, not before. I'm bad about stretching prior, I will admit. I also foam roll a few times a week, depending on how many days a week and mileage I run.

Thanks for the ideas!
I think I need to dedicate more to dynamic stretching. I usually walk about a quarter mile, do some quick hamstring stretches, and go.
I also got new shoes and that helped. I know better than to run in old shoes, so that was a big duh moment.

I do an hour of old lady yoga once a week, and it's the absolute best.
