I love your heart cagoldi and your contingency plans for X. My big brother has a back bedroom in my parents house and it gives him a little more space and privacy. It wasn't necessary the plan, just the way the floorplan ended up with an add-on, but it's nice for him. (To clarify, this is my older brother with Down's, not my younger brother with Immaturity.) Thank you. I think it’s a good plan for everyone involved. Nothing fancy, just comfortable. I figured it was your big brother we met at Disney several years ago. He was so sweet and having such a great time! Atticus tells everyone he’s never moving out and staying with mama forever, so maybe I should plan for that, too.

flamingo Has B been asking about another sibling? Too funny. Not really. And if anything, after having my nephew (the whirling dervish) visit this fall, I think B would be distressed to learn I was having another one! LOL. B was visibly relieved when they left.

I was polite but assertive. lol. He said he had spoken to infectious disease and understands my concerns & where I’m coming from. He still doesn’t think H as an IgM deficiency, although it is on the low side. He went into further detail about it and showed me some studies that had been done. He wants to do a bit more research and reach out to a few other doctors about trying a prophylactic antibiotic drop for his ears. It would be an experiment for him because he’s never done it before but thinks it would be a better alternative than an oral antibiotic. He also wants me to have a 2nd ENT evaluate him, just in case. I should hear back from him sometime next week about the drops.

He loves the girls. Cassidy was talking to me the other day about why I work. I explained that it pays the bills, etc. She asked if she could continue living with me when she grows up and not have to get a job. I know my opinion may change drastically when they're older, but assuming it's not just because they want to be deadbeats, I wouldn't mind the girls living with us for a long time.

The mother of B's BFF at school just texted me and LSS, apparently B said something to his pal, who reported it to his mom, that we are expecting a new addition! I cannot wait to quiz my eldest once he gets home. LOL. 😂 Sounds like B likes being a big brother so much he wants to do it again.

Hi! I’ve been at work and it’s been pretty steady all day so I was able to read here and there, but not post much.
Traffic was crazy this morning so I got work 30 minutes late. We’re done now and just waiting for 430.

I would really appreciate if the school would NOT call me to remind me about STEAM night. My "holy shit, what's wrong with my kid" heart attack could have been avoided.

This also reminded me that I got a message from M2’s school Wednesday saying that this Friday is K2 teacher appreciation day. Please bring a snack for the teachers to enjoy. Really? Two days before y’all create a teacher appreciation snack day. I forgot about it, so I now have to think of something to pick up when I leave here. 🙄

Do your periods get worse as you get older?
Mine certainly have. I was lied to. People said they would improve after I had children. That’s been the exact opposite of my experience.

That’s been the exact opposite of my experience. mine are slightly worse (but thankfully have never been that bad). But more disturbing for me is they are much more often. I used to be every 26-27 days. Now sometimes it's as quick as 21 days. So I feel like I always have it. Super fun.

I used to be #blessed and never really have much cramping or anything, now sometimes I feel like my abdomen has been used for a punching bag. They have definitely gotten closer together. My usual 32ish+ days is now more like 25. #menopausereleaseme

I got an email that school will let out at 11:30 tomorrow due to the forecasted snow storm. I’ve never seen them call an early out the day before it even hits, but I guess if they go for a few hours, it doesn’t count as a snow day.
We bought my nephews tickets to the gopher hockey game tomorrow night for Christmas. Looks like we won’t be making the drive in, so now we’re out that money and need to come up with something else. Maybe we’ll just take them to a movie and dinner... Or pizza and bowling. Bummer.

MH came to the rescue. We completely forgot it was talent show try-outs tonight. M called him in a panic from school so he went so they wouldn't be sent home on the bus. Poor guy is super sick too and not just man-colding it.

I hate heated blankets. They're great for when you first get into bed, so it's warm. But I can't handle being hot when I'm asleep. Even when I turn it to the lowest setting, I still sweat. We have one and I haven't gotten it out this winter. Although I should for H because he loves the damn thing. And now that I wake up at night super hot with a regular blanket, it sounds like torture. Same. A heated blanket sounds like the worst thing at night. It would be great for just hanging out on the couch in the evenings though.

I'm really fortunate that our family room is baller. It's huge. For now I like leaving a lot of open space (it's where I exercise so I want to keep it that way). But if we ever wanted to get a machine or two we'd have the room for it. I have a love of old console games (I had my original NES with a ton of games to it for many years). So jealous!!! We have too many humans in this tiny house. IDK if I mentioned it here, but if Pete does sign over the house, I am selling and buying a single story. Hopefully with a lot big enough to add a mother-in-law unit. My SD will build one and he and my mom can stay with us. Then, if for some reason X is not able to live on his own, I would like to maintain it for him. That way he can feel like he has some privacy and independence, but still has the support he needs from me. I don’t really anticipate that will be the case, but want to prepare for contingencies in case the motor planning difficulties are a substantial problem for driving, cooking, etc. Also, nothing about the house will be baller. Because it’s CA, we’ll be looking at a small 3 bedroom 2 bath for probably $700,000. 😳I’ll be lucky to get around 1500 square feet. Maaaaybe 1800, but that’s a stretch. You will still live in the area right? I can’t lose you!

So we’re staying close where Pete is only ten minutes away and nobody needs to switch schools. Especially with X, I don’t want to start that process over again. Everyone is thriving so I am not messing with more than I have to.

When it finally arrived, late, it was heavier than normal. I dont know if this is my new normal, but I dont like it. Getting old is truly a bitch.
