I have a lot of work to do but I don't feel like doing it. Later today I have a sign being delivered and installed that will finish a project I've been working on a long time. I have everything crossed that the sign is right!

I’m on the shuttle to work. I’m not 100% but I’m much better then yesterday. I’m ready to get some work done. Can’t wait until this weekend.

I just dropped S off at school and am headed to get a massage! Only downfall is that it’s an hour drive each way.

That's adorable lfig! Nothing exciting here today. We are supposed to get freezing rain and snow tomorrow morning, starting around 5am. I have a feeling school will be cancelled and I will WFH tomorrow, due to conditions. I emailed our ops manager yesterday to make him aware that since our production crew arrives at 5:30, they should consider a late start tomorrow. I haven't head anything from him. Cool.

Good morning! Josie is at school and I’m hanging out here with Charlie. I have to clean out the fridge today before I go food shopping tomorrow. I do it every week but for some reason it feels like a giant undertaking today.

Morning. H has been walking to the bus alone (I stand on the sidewalk in front of my house and watch her until the bus comes) but for some reason today, when it’s -11 she decides she wants me to walk with her. Of course I wasn’t really prepared to walk down there so I froze my butt off in my yoga pants. MIL is coming to get S at 9:30 to take her to an activity, so I’ll have some alone time until after they eat lunch. Oh, last night when I was laying in bed and couldn’t fall asleep I had the brilliant idea to put that phone number that I didn’t recognize into google. Turns out it’s my boss’s personal #. She normally texts me from her work phone so that’s why I didn’t have her number saved.

Morning! We drove N to the bus stop this morning so she could stay in the car until the bus came. Windchill is -25 so after i take H to school, I don’t plan on leaving again the rest of the day.
H had a speech eval at preschool but doesn’t qualify for services through the school. I’m not sure how i feel. I understand 95% of what he says but a stranger most likely doesn’t. The SPL said most of the sounds he’s missing will come with age, but like.... s, f, th, sh... seems like a lot to be missing. So I guess we’ll just try and work on it more at home and hope we start seeing improvement

slenle You could always get speech therapy on your own. I'd check your insurance to see what it would cover.

Took M to my mom and J to school. The boys have been begging for more one on one nana time. So she's switching off today while the other is at school. MJ is with me and I have a bunch of work to get done. She's car napping now so I'm eating breakfast in the car.

I just got off the phone with the chief from another division at work. She’s going to bring me back on a month early to help with her program before I go back to my regular job. So I will go back to work Mid Feb instead of mid March! I’ll take it! So I only have 1 month left off work!

slenle You could always get speech therapy on your own. I'd check your insurance to see what it would cover. I don’t think it’s covered at all until our super high deductible is met.... and $600/hour until then 😳

slenle remind me how old H is? ETA: IME those are middle to later developing sounds—like B is working on S vs. Sh right now, he worked on Th this summer (those are 6-8 y.o. sounds). F is ‘middle’, so age 3-6. He worked on that when he was 3-3.5 ish. Idk if that helps you but basically I wouldn’t worry overly much right now. You can practice with him in front of a mirror, that seems to help B ‘see’ the difference. Also, FWIW, about a third of B’s class gets speech therapy at school, according to another mom from his class. So suffice to say, there are options down the road if you feel like he doesn’t catch up. We’ve always gone thru private therapy bc our insurance covers it, and B had the trifecta with the tongue-tie and ear problems as a toddler. (But at this point, his pedi here said he probably wouldn’t even qualify thru the public school system bc his issues are so minor and age-appropriate). lfig she looks terrific!

I've got a kink in my back (shoulder blade) and I was hoping it'd work it's way out when I slept. Nope. Still painful to look over my shoulder. I might need Cass to walk on it tonight if I can't get it back in place. Aging is a delight.
P was my partner last night at TKD. Holy crap the instructor went from hardly having us ever kick to doing way too much. Everyone was dying. P gave me props because this old lady kept up with the youngins.

Morning!
My Mom came over yesterday, she got the kids from daycare, made dinner and then watched Julia while I took B skating. He is doing so well since he first started in September, I'm so proud of him. She also brought me a heated blanket that she had laying around the house and not using, I put it between my flat sheet and duvet and OH MY GOODNESS, it was like getting into a heated massage table, I was giddy and had the best sleep.

I notice a few of Dude’s friends in K still struggle with these sounds. My sister got ST at school for similar reasons. When we had X’s evaluations, they said he had to be more than 30% delayed (which he was in all areas of speech except receptive). Not sure if that’s a state or county guideline that varies?

Yes, I’m not sure if there’s a standard #, I could ask my sister (an SLP). I remember when B was first tested as a toddler his receptive score was pretty high—around 85 or so (esp considering the poor kid wasn’t hearing at full capacity 😂). His expressive was in the low 70s, IIRC. I remember them saying he was kind of on the bubble, but bc insurance covered it and due to his ear/tongue issues we should probably pursue it.

flamingo, he will be 4 in April. Thanks for input! Sounds like he’s not too far off for his age. The SLP did say they can reevaluate in a year if we don’t see improvement, but she didn’t seem too concerned.

Poppy and X have RSV. I guess because they’re older, they don’t seem to be having too much trouble. They’re not feeling 💯, but it’s not scary like it was when they were tiny little things.
I have a cleaning service coming here in a bit. I had to delegate something with so much school work to manage right now. And it’s been getting harder to keep up with everything since my right arm/elbow have gone straight to hell.
Tim is flying in for a visit tomorrow, and staying through Monday morning.
