Hi! This is fun. I lurked because I was just a FTM, freaked out by everything. I judged most of the earlier posters, they were way over the top and dramatic. Then somewhere along the second trimester I started to participate. Everyone ignored me for like the first 2 months because there were cool girls.

Also, I’m in a FB group with Kama and some other old people. Not sure if that was where she meant to post it but that group wasn’t created instead of the forum. We made it back in Bump days and then when we switched to HiH, I think figuring out a new forum was not worth the effort for people. It’s not an incredibly active group, I love those girls but I think lots of us have become busy. I miss everyone, you guys too!!

I also remember the mistress who posted her outlandish nursery and didn’t understands everyone’s issues with it or her blog. That was some fun reads on the middle of the night. Oh yes, that girl was...memorable.

I was pregnant in Disney in July and mid-day every day, DH would take DS1 to the pool and I would lay down with DD who just turned 3 to rest my hot pregnant self when I found this group. I had to bite my “just you wait” tongue a whole lot of times being the 3rd time mom. I joined because I felt like I wasn’t doing anything to get ready for T- we already owned all the baby stuff and he wasn’t getting a room so nothing to decorate. I guess I was living through the excitement of the first time moms.
I also just realized I’m a top contender for being first grandma on the board if we all stick around that long. My niece getting married in March is making me feel old. She was 4 when DH and I started dating. I told H when she has a baby, we are the great aunt and uncle and that’s like grandparent status.

Another long timer here, I think I joined in March 2013. The vibe was weird - I tried to stay out of the craziness while still creating a community for myself because I was a neurotic first time Mom.
I had forgotten about a lot of the posters mentioned up thread!

She’s great. Insane and does whatever she wants but, she’s trustworthy and entertaining. Not that great at cleaning though.

hmmm I find it interesting that so far everyone who posts now was not active until after the babies were born. I wonder why all the original people left? I think they all abandoned ship for a secret Facebook group that they all still participate in. One time(not that long ago) Kama posted in our fb group about going on a date on accident, before she ever told us she was getting a divorce, and said something about posting on the wrong group. I don't think that's a secret FB group. I'm in it. I think it was just a holding place for us to stay together while we found a new home.

I had such a hard time with the “just you wait” thing with my second bmb. You and inthekitty are saints for generally not using it against us when we were all FTMs. Although she’s not really active anymore ladystrat may be grandma first since her oldest has already graduated HS.

It was created by kimmycup not that long before the exodus. There is another one that was created way before that. I am not in that one.

I started lurking and posting on the trimester boards when I found out I was pregnant. I think I moved to the BMB right before our babies were born. All the mean posters and drama made me a nervous wreck but I stuck around for some reason. I would reread my posts a dozen times before posting. And still got chewed out alot lol.
I think all the mean girls started their own facebook way before the one I'm on like @trtlcry said.
I had posted a few times on the knot while I was getting married but very little.

vino yes, there were some real winners. We've lost some great posters but then others I was not sorry to see go. There were several (a bunch) that seemed to just love the drama and being unnecessarily mean. I do wonder what happened to some of them (the mean ones...some of the nice ones I'm friends with on FB:) I continue to liken it to a den of vipers. Some of them were just plain venomous.

Yay! Cher is here!!! Okay, I don’t remember how I got here. For cereal. I stumbled upon the boards and guess I must have felt like I needed community with other pregnant people or something. 🤷♀️ Which I did find, and am eternally grateful for. wedding, sing2phins, kellykinns really kept me going when I had a colicky baby and terrible PPD. Then, I feel like we all became friends as the kids grew older and we could share war stories. I met chrisy01 through the board and she’s my ride or die bitch, a real life literal angel and I love her.

Cher remember that awful person on the 0-3 month board who came to admonish everyone for not being back to their pre-baby weight instantly?

Thanks for the shout out, cagoldi! I knew about TB because I was on TK. I was also a regular in another online community for years before I found TK, and many of those people are actual friends of mine now, too. I'm not sure when I found our BMB, but I think it was pretty early on. I don't know how often I posted in the beginning, but I know by the time of our anatomy scans, I was starting to feel like a regular. Goldi and kellykinns were my first off-board friendships and I'm so grateful for them. All of you have been a total lifeline for me; even now though I'm not here regularly, I'll still think of something funny that happened on the board or a tip one of you gave me. I think we're all very lucky to have found each other.

She came on and was basically like “what’s your excuse? Get back into shape!” Ad infinitum. And you asked “Maria Kang, is that you?” 😂

My main memory from the early days is when anyone would ask anything remotely medical it was a big to do of "we're not doctors, ask your pediatrician!" Which is hysterical now that some of us are the group experts on different illnesses lol.

But if someone has experienced it before, knows what to expect etc then that's what a poster is looking for.

I signed up for the knot way back when. After the wedding you get an automatic referral to the nest and the bump. I lurked on the bump, I was the first of my friends to have kids and I liked reading something very relatable, a lot of the questions and experiences posted where things I went trough too. I was to scared to jump in, it was madhouse. Until I was called out I was still scared and a little embarrassed for lurking for such a long time. I’m so glad I was called out, you girls have become so important to me.

I thought some of these ladies pediatricians must be so annoyed that they call for every.fucking.thing with the over-the-top "ASK YOUR PEDI" response.
Ah, JessnTim...good times.
Yes there were some mega bitches, and yes there were several FB groups, most of which I was not privy too nor did I care to be.
