Hi everyone - Any interest in restarting the daily random thread here? The FB page is a bit too overwhelming for me, but I do like seeing everyone and their babes! BUT these types of threads are WAY easier to read/follow, so ya know... I'm here.. putzing around wondering if anyone else wants to hang out

I'm in!
C got his first round of shots yesterday, so we're hanging out at home today. Just about naptime...they were hit and miss yesterday, so I'm hoping today's are better.
Any tips for transitioning to the crib? He's been in a bassinet, and will be three months old in 2 weeks. I'm starting to naps mostly in the crib rather than the swing downstairs. Any other tips/suggestions?

I'm here. Hangin' out in my office pumping away...
DS had a lovely cold that he gave to me so I'm congested as hell. It's days like these where I really miss being able to pop a Sudafed.
Also, on the sleep front: DS did close to 8 hrs last night (yay), but then fussed on and off from 4am to 6:30 when he was up for the day. I have a super hard time falling back asleep sometimes, so I've been up since 4. Blerg.

yay, friends!!! sterl724, I say just go for it! Maybe on a night when baby is ready to fall asleep hard right away? ellabee, I'm right there with you on the early morning fussing/sleep issues. Lately, if the paci doesn't do the trick, I've been pulling her into bed with me. She usually falls back asleep and at least I get to cuddle her while I'm 1/2 asleep.

I do enjoy the morning snuggles.

My baby girl definitely had a mental growth spurt recently. She just started giggling when her daddy tickles her (only daddy, mommy isn't as fun) and she is babbling a lot. Her babbling sounds are kinda like dinosaur noises though so I'm laughing.

I'm here. The baby has changed so much this week. She's less and less like a newborn everyday.

I have to admit I'm really interested to see if these forums will really gain traction or if the majority of the active posters will remain in the general discussion section...

I'll play! I skipped lunch in order to take a shower. The stars aligned and DS1 and DS2 were both sleeping at the same time! Winning!

Any other tips/suggestions? If he likes the cuddle comfort, rolled blankets under the sheet to support his body, moving them slowly away every couple days.* we do first down in the crib at night then move to our room. All naps are in the swing. Having a white noise running and form of night light helps, too. *make sure that his head is above them so he can turn his head side to side as he prefers

I'm trying to decide if I should get a Bumbo seat for DD. I can't tell if her head control is there yet or if it's just better than it was. She's 11.5 weeks so I feel like that's little for it. But she's 15 lbs now.
She giggled at us this weekend and repeated it for me today. But only right after her morning nap and only on the changing table. I tried to catch it for DH but she wouldn't do it again.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I had it. We used it maybe twice. It is very awkward to get baby in and out, especially with thunder thighs. I ended up selling mine on a FB yard sale for half of what I paid for it.

H works in ag, and it has finally dried up enough for him to plant. We've been married almost 7 years, so it's nothing new, but I always forget how lonely I am this time of year. I think right now it's worse, because I'm home ask day with DS (which I'm so grateful to be able to do). But I've been home with the baby for almost 12 weeks. I'm going a little stir crazy. We live in a pretty rural area (about 30 minutes from the closest city), so finding things to do to get out of the house that don't involve an hour round trip is hard. I also don't really have any mom friends that live close by. I'm just having a rough night tonight.

Hugs sterl724 - it is hard when your main source of adult contact is gone a lot and you don't have anything to break up the day. DH works long hours with a long commute and it's tough to only see him an hour or so a day. I'm trying to make mom friends but that can be tough as an introvert.

I'm a bit of a introvert as well. I was rather lonely during my my time at home with DS. My husband worked a lot and no one else in my circle of family and friends had babies. Luckily, this time around, my sister in law had a baby 3 months prior to me. We've been having weekly lunches and play dates. Is nice to get that adult time in!

moutonrouge and butterfly thanks for understanding! I was having a moment for real last night. After h got home, I left the baby with him and walked the dog to get out of the house. Then I was able to squeeze in some time on the phone with my bestie - she's due with baby number 2 in two weeks. She's four hours away, so we don't see each other as often as I'd like, but it was nice to catch up with her for awhile. Definitely made me feel better!

Mom groups, museums, baby store events w freebies...it's good for the mind and soul. I live in the Chicagoland area and visiting family is usually an hour long round trip. It sucks if the baby hates the carseat (my 1st) but luckily my 2nd one likes to nap in the car.
