I've started singing "let's go sit on the potty" to the tune of the "let's all go to the lobby" song. So that's how my day is going so far.

DD woke up with a fever, so I am staying home with her. I'm not terribly upset about missing work after a 4 day weekend. I just hope it's something easily curable.

bigyellowtaxi Sorry to hear your DD is sick! Hope she gets better soon. letthewookieewin We sang the exact same potty tune when we were training DS a few months ago! Lol. Normal day here - not much going on. DS brought home some really cute artwork from school. They painted sheets of cardboard with different shades of blue and then glued on little sea shells, with a bit of glitter and foamy white bubble stuff on top of the paint. Looks like the ocean! He was pretty proud of himself when he gave it to me - definitely keeping this one to hang somewhere.

Hope your DD feels better soon bigyellowtaxi. I'm hanging out outside with DS while DD naps inside. He's playing with rocks on the side of the house and naming them after various sea creatures. The toddler imagination is quite something. ETA tag

Daycare is closed and DH took the day off to watch DD. I am working from home, but hiding in the basement since she would never let me work in peace if she had access to me. I am trying to limit my appearances upstairs since every time I leave it is 15 minutes of crying for DH to deal with. I am in desperate need of chapstick and I can't find any down here, so I think I am going to have to text DH and have him roll a tube down the stairs.

Just packed up the boys into the car and about to go on a run. I'm looking forward to everyone going back to school/work and having the house to myself. I haven't gotten a chance to get things under control since I've been back, and since I don't have any meetings today I'm hopeful I can do that.

My 4 day weekend seemed to go so fast! It was good family time. Esp since Dh has been working crazy overtime the last month. He totally made up for it by deep cleaning the house and my car! I have to admit though, by day 2 with him I wanted to smack him a few times. ❤️ I got to work late but really need to run to Target during lunch. I need some ant poison. I've had some pop up sporadically around the house but just cleaning with clorox wipes and using some ant baits got rid of them. These new ones in the kitchen are not leaving. It started by the back door and this morning found them half way into the kitchen. Hate bugs.

bigyellowtaxi, jewel, hope your LO's feel better soon! swivelchair5, I've banned H from working from home on Fridays when I'm home with DS, because literally the entire day turns into me prying him off the doors to our study, saying, "nope, daddy's got to work," and then dealing with crying because he thinks that computers are basically just devices to watch train and animal videos on, and that daddy's being selfish not letting him watch too.

We had such a nice long weekend! The weather was perfect, and somehow even made DS discovering that being two means you have to hit the "terrible twos" a bit more tolerable. Plus, I got my "me" day on Monday which was fantastic, and yesterday DS was swimming in my parents pool basically from when he woke up from his nap until bedtime, so he slept like a rock last night, which was awesome And, only two days now until my weekend starts again!

Yeah, it's not ideal to work when she is here. If my commute wasn't 45 minutes each way, I would just go into the office, but I do not want to spend an hour and a half traveling if I don't need to. I wish I could go camp out at starbucks or the library for a couple hours at least, but for security reasons I am not allowed to telework anywhere besides my home.

jewel I'm glad your LO is getting better. I went ahead and took DD to the doc because she also had a cough and the daycare director sent an email out last week that croup was passing through the toddler room. She's fine and has a cold/virus. And is now acting like a wild woman. DH is coming to switch out with me at lunch so I can run into work for a bit. This will be quite the short work week.

Hi everyone! My son just turned one, so I decided to move over here from the infants board (where I mostly lurked).
He had his one-year vaccines this morning, which are always upsetting (for me more so than him). My husband took the morning off so he could come with us. L is currently napping and I'm hoping he doesn't develop a fever.
Other than that we are having a great week! There's a heat wave in our area so we've been making good use of the baby pool and iced coffee.

We went camping and it wasn't the worst but it also not exactly fun. So many bugs, the closest toilet was 70 feet way, it was hot, the night was super cold, my back hurts from sleeping on an air mattress with 2 kids right up on me, and I feel like garbage from basically eating hotdogs, chips, and marshmallows for 3 days.

It feels like Monday after a 4 day weekend. BP had rights to having kids for fireworks with us having to be there.....so tired today since it was about 11pm when we got home and I have to be to work at 6 am everyday this week to make up hours from Monday per my bosses for being closed....and kids get up at 6am so everyone in our household is very tired since I got about 5 hours of sleep and the kids got about 7 hours....we are not happy campers.

Middle kid peed on the potty! She took her diaper off and wandered to the bathroom all by herself. Her aim was way off though. So this might be an interesting week.

I made the two-hour trek to my hometown to sort through my old bedroom. Mom also gave me some of my baby clothes (the early 80s were a ruffly time, it seems) so we can take pictures of E in them when she gets a little bigger. There is also the tiny cheerleader outfit from when I was a cheer "mascot" around age 6-7. My old band jacket. Vintage Cabbage Patch dolls. A shit-ton of pictures.
Then, the stuff that I never expected: my dad's aunt a long time ago sent him funeral books from his parents' funerals, pictures of his mom (my grandmother), photos of this old historical cabin that belonged to some random relative, news clippings, pictures of my dad as a kid and other members of his family. Mom never knew he had them. He put them all in a box and put it all away and never told her. Dad never talked much about his family, especially his mom, who died when he was just four or so, very suddenly and with little explanation. Mom said he was always bitter about it. I never knew any of this. I got a little misty-eyed over all of that.

mintyblueair Welcome! Looking forward to seeing you around here! Hope your DS doesn't react much to the 1 yr vaccines. maplebaconbar Bummer about camping. Is this where I admit that I've never been camping, because I fear a situation like you described? fuzzylogic How cool you found all that stuff in your old bedroom! Glad your Dad saved that stuff for you too - how special.

Taitai, Yeah, no judgement on my end. Maybe camping is easier when they're older?
