Coming up for some air. I got sucked down the instant pot recipe hole on Pinterest. I really hope there is a good deal on one on Prime day! I was on there last night. I was just telling my sis this morning...I NEED one now. Dude, this pot seems life changing. I love slow cookers for the convenience, but I'm not a fan of the mushy texture/dryness of meats. And I can't sear in my SC, so this sounds like a win all around. I hear that they were down to $69 during last years Prime Day!

I started my love for the SC right after E was born and especially when I went back to work, but you are right about the texture/dryness. Our rice cooker is a piece of crap too, so I'd love to replace that with the IP. We don't like using things with nonstick coatings (our rice cooker has a stainless steel insert) so I was excited to see the IP is stainless steel!

We don't like the idea of the chemicals coming off in the food....it seems over time (even if you are careful), the nonstick coating wears off. No risk of that with stainless steel. I think people get frustrated w/ stainless steel b/c you have to work a little extra to clean it. It looks like you can buy a nonstick insert if that floats your boat!

Hello ladies! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday! We've had a really good few days here, but the mood definitely changed before H left for Vegas. DSS leaves for HI on the 11th, so H is heading to NV to pick him up from his grandparents and they'll hang at Circus Circus for a few days. I knew today was going to be rough, he went from yelling to crying to saying how great yesterday was, to crying to yelling. I know he's hurting and it hurts me to see him that way. I'm really glad he didn't direct everything at me like he was doing a few a months ago... he threw in a few comments about Family 2.0 and told Allison to ask me why she doesn't have her brother anymore, but I ignored it because there's nothing that's going g to make the next 3 days easier for him and I know he's just trying to deal. As I was writing this A was crawling over me and smashed her banana into the couch... totally my fault for not paying attention to her, but I yelled at her and took the banana away... now she's crying because I'm being an asshole. I think she and I need a nap to reset.

I don't really have a preference. Whatever I have is what I use. So I guess no difference here. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Omg. I'm still spiraling on the instant pot. Spaghetti squash in 5 minutes. I love SS. It don't make it that often because it takes too long to cook.

So my lab results came back and there are some major problems (with the tests, I'm fine).
1. They tested me for Hep A & Hep B antigens instead of antibodies. I don't need to prove that I don't have those diseases - I need proof of immunity to them.
2. Probably the biggest issue is I'm not immune to measles. I am to rubella & mumps but not rubeola. My only solution to that is my mom finding my records to prove I received the vax. I got these titers because she couldn't find them in the first place. I'll have to get an MMR booster regardless, but I don't have time for that and a repeat titer by the deadline.
3. They didn't include by TB test results at all.
Sorry for the long post. At best, my mom will find my shot records and I'll have to go back to the lab tomorrow for the TB test and Hep B titer, which are required regardless. I'll get MMR booster before clinicals start in September. Because of all this, I've been on the phone all day with the lab, my dr, etc and also with my apartment office because we STILL do not have a dishwasher (for 3 weeks now). My children are acting crazy and I need a nap. But also need to study and clean my house.

What do you guys do for mosquito repellent? I put some sunscreen/repellent on her yesterday before she went swimming at MILs. It didn't work & she's allergic to the bites. I gave her a bath when we got home and her back is covered & looks awful. I have some of the repellent bracelets too but didn't have them with me last night.

I haven't added the bracelet this year because they didn't seem to work last year (though we were using them on their own or with an EO).

I am so tired today. H is about to mow the lawn (about 45 minute job) then do the litter boxes and trash. I might be nice and do the upstairs litter box and then give the kids a bath. So looking forward to bed.

We noticed that our ac stopped working today. Thankfully DH found that a fuse was blown and it's fixed! DNW to make any major replacements before moving.
Also called to cancel DS1's phone (long story...but moral is teenager). Because they think I've been a customer for 25 years (I took over my mom's account! Lol) they talked me into a really cheap plan, switched to month to month and I can cancel anytime (so basically they waived a remaining tab and will most likely cancel unless he gets a job).
Plus I biked to work today.
I feel like I'm winning. I might have a glass of red to celebrate! (#itsthesmallthings)

Okay so seeing as no one has brought it up, I will. So what's up with the site name change? I think it's kinda hokey, but whatever. I just need to understand how it will impact me? Like will I need to log into a new place or will it automatically happen?

I am not sure I have given you an update lately on my whole insurance is a f-ing pain in my ass. As you know, they denied our appeal that our therapist sent. We can appeal if we want and we will but I am not very optimistic. I am going to finish up everything tonight and get it sent in tomorrow. H reached out to someone at his work in his benefits dept. They "looked" into it for him and said, "oh you get have OT in your plan and it's covered, but you are only allowed 20 visits per year and S1 received OT from this date to this date and has met those 20 visits" I said to H, "THAT IS NOT WHY THEY ARE DENYING IT!" I mean i didn't really yell at him but I flipped. I wrote an email out and let him respond. We are allowed 20 visits per year and if it's deemed medically necessary then we are allowed more. We were allowed more last year and not this year. They claim there is an exclusion but no one seem to know this when i call in. anyway, his benefits person responded and are apparently assigning us an "advocate" to "help" and we'll "hear" from them soon. That was almost a week ago. Granted it was a holiday in that week, i would have thought we'd hear from them by now. At least a "hey, i'm your "advocate" and i'll be in touch soon. Want me to add fuel to the fire? Blue Cross Blue Shield did not reach an agreement with the children's hospital here in MN. That means that the children hospital is no longer in network. E's genetics doctor is there. For us, thats not the end of the world, but for others it's really really bad.

Like will I need to log into a new place or will it automatically happen? No. You won't. It will update automatically. TCF was something else before and it just switched over on it's own. It will only mess up people on tapatalk until it updates through them. Basically, it was poorly planned out in my opinion. It would have been nice if the name change and the switchover to pro boards happened at the same time so it would only disturb tapatalk users once but instead we're being told to stop whining and complaining and just use the mobile or desktop while we go through two separate updates. There were people who actually said, "who cares if we lose people"

The plan was to figure out the name and only have the change happen once, but the issue of the sight being blocked like Peekaru mentioned happened. There was an offsite on proboard's end (or maintaince, I forget) which cause it to take longer. All the name suggestions were bored on in three rounds of polls by all the mods and admins. They waited to make the switch in proboards until after the holiday do the staff would be back in the office in case of any issues. Art last that's what I remember of the discussion.
