We got home at 10:30 last night, which may as well be 3am. Olds:we are them
It was DS first fireworks and he talked NONSTOP - oh, it's red/green/blue/thatonewasaheart/thatonewasbiggerthanmyhouse/thatonealmostgotme/whyisitsoloud/thatoneisgreen/thesearesopretty......THATONEISASTAR
He was so excited. E was not into it, it was too loud for her.
Anyway, I'm at work. Three more days.

DD2 woke up at 6:15 to nurse and went back to sleep...and she's still asleep at almost 10am.
High five, little girl!

armpants, sorry for the crap sleep and the Houdini moves. Stay the course! I think E mocks me now, yesterday before his nap he kept saying "mama lay down" because that is what I say to him in my mean voice. CestLaVie, hope you feel better soon! Thanks for the feedback on the taco bar! We have easy guests: no gluten free, no vegetarians. One friend might still be dairy free for her nursing baby but that will be easy for her. We'll definitely do beans and rice and I make a Mexican street corn salad that I might have to add, it is so good. I will practice before the party with making the meat. We may have more taco nights in our future in this house Umm..I need this Mexican street corn salad recipe... Please.

This weekend was long, but good! Finally got around to checking out the canoe/kayak/paddle board rental place near us. The kids loved it and so did I. Now we're talking about buying our own canoe next spring. We love on a lake, near several rivers and inlets that would make getting out on the water pretty easy. Catching up on laundry today, and staying home. It's been a big weekend for us. PDQ [ poof

Hi everyone. I got lost in the binds reveal day yesterday, so I still need to catch up.
Just sent out our Facebook invites for B's birthday party. One month from today! I think I counted like 42 adults + kids... is it bad I'm hoping lots of people can't make it?
Also, I wore white pants today and forgot I'm supposed to get my period, so wish me luck...

For those that answered "All", THANK YOU! Apparently two of my cousins (they are sisters) feel that they need a personal invitation to family things because they don't feel welcomed otherwise.

We are six weeks in to shitty sleep! He literally just screams on the top of his lungs if he wakes up and we aren't in the same room. I slept on his floor for an hour last night. I think it was a total of 4 times he was up. Plus H didn't get him to sleep until 10 because of a late second nap. Does he usually take 2 naps? Could this be contributing to his crap sleep/wake ups in the MOTN?

Question: If your family has a facebook group that is used to post updates, plan vacations, etc and there was a post: "Christmas in November is going to be November 4th"! Let us know if you are going to be there so we can draw names for the kids' gift exchange". Would you assume: A) Open invite to ALL members of the group B) Invite only open to specific people If it's posted to the shared group, then I'd assume it's open to all that are part of it.

@bwtweenthelines- my feet hurt too, I think it's the flip flops and barefeet all the time and the tile I stand on. I actually put shoes on yesterday. Also, anything I can do to help with H? It's definitely the flat sandals and barefeet for me. But it's been bad since Monday. I put on some more cushioned Old Navy flip flops and my feet didn't hurt as bad... Getting old sucks. I appreciate the offer. It's common with H, unfortunately. He comes and goes through bouts of depression and it's been a constant battle trying to get him to talk to someone (he tried it once, hated it) or get on medication. But I think he's coming around. A week ago he did tell me he is considering it, so that is a move in the right direction. For only being 30 years old, he feels like he is just falling apart, and I think a lot of the pain is stemming from his depression.

Could this be contributing to his crap sleep/wake ups in the MOTN? No, he usually only takes one. It can be anywhere from 1-2.5 hours (he naps best at daycare, probably because he can sense everyone around him). Yesterday, he only got a 20 minute car nap, so then he had a late nap in the early evening on the drive home. There is no correlation to his naps and to his sleeping well. I've tried putting him to bed later, I've tried putting him to bed earlier. There are days where I think he has to be exhausted because his nap is only an hour and he ran around constantly, etc etc and then he still sleeps terribly. It's just shitty all around. Monday night wasn't quite as bad. Only two wakeups and he went down rather quickly.

Peekaru, when I get back from Vegas I think I am going to be forced to remove the bed and glider. It makes me really really really sad. I just keeping holding out that it's a phase. It just makes zero sense to me. He was a great sleeper. He's having some developmental leaps and his molars coming in, but he also has this separation thing going on. I'm at my wits end because I cannot figure it out.

amichelle723, that hair! E woke up with like 3 tiny little dreadlocks in the back, which I had to untangle. Luckily, my hair does that too if left to its own devices, so it wasn't hard for me to take care of. jedi, no I'm not veg, but I was for about 15 years or so and I love eating vegetarian dishes! mommabakes, here's the corn salad recipe. It is so easy and delicious, I take it to potlucks a lot too, it requires very little time to prep. www.sixsistersstuff.com/2014/07/mexican-street-corn-salad-recipe.htmlThat is an adorable pic in the canoe! Pizzaslut, I am so sorry for this situation with sleep. I have been there and I know it is so so hard. It's been 23 months of sleep struggles with E off and on and there have been times (like you are in now) when I didn't think I could survive it. Keep doing what you're doing. Hopefully he emerges from this an even better sleeper than he was before this madness, which is what "they" say usually happens. I wish I knew good advice to tell you, but clearly we don't know the answer either. Oh and by the way....I drank coffee this morning! It was a long couple of weeks without it but I think I'm on the other side. I got a half caff latte at my favorite coffee shop and I think it was OK on me and I feel like a million bucks. We ended up going swimming this morning with my sister and E's cousins at their neighborhood pool. It was fun and E had a blast in the kiddie pool. We went over just to drop off the invitation for them for E's b-day party but ended up staying to swim! Oh and I'm having girls' night with my mom and sis out for dinner tonight! It is part of a (way overdue) Christmas gift from me to them!
