After work I get to go pick up kitten Dickens. We've decided to keep his name for now, I believe. We may change our minds once we get him home and see what he's really like.

I am also apparently going on a date with mh tonight.

Hi! Today is a quiet day at the office. There is currently only 3 of us here and it is glorious. I'm spending my morning doing audits and listening to TED talks!

I’m still at home because the plumber is here to fix the water heater. As soon as he leaves, I’ll head to the office.

Morning. We took the kids to a bakery museum, that was way overcrowded & not a working bakery anymore, it was a little disappointing. The kids could make a gingerbread man, which they loved . We’re heading to the indoor playground in a little bit.

I'm at work and it's so slow. I'm hoping the day goes fast then tonight I'm heading to the mall after the kids are down to check out the VS semi annual sale and pick up a couple new bras.

I love a short week! My coworker and I are heading to warby Parker and the rothys store shortly during lunch, so that sounds fun. Otherwise working and trying to decide which 3rd mattress to try🤦 I feel like Goldilocks..Costco should be calling soon to pickup our current one, so need to get a replacement ordered. (This one is sagging already at 4 months old)

Uh oh vino I didn’t realize it was the semiannual sale... I might have to go do some damage. Also... I wish we were not one million hours from each other so we could hang out while our husbands are gone (you too flamingo!) There is just something about hanging with friends who get it! Does he know where he’s going??

Did anyone else’s notifications stop working on tapa on December 29th?? I hate it! Sometimes I don’t get back on for the rest of the day and I miss things- don’t want anyone to think I’m ignoring them!

tallb we bought a new mattress at Mattress Firm over Labor Day weekend. Not sure if that's a store in your area, but we have been happy with it so far.

Morning! I picked up a friends LO and we’re at the children’s museum. It’s nice to have some for for H to play with. Once N gets home from school we will go to my nephews hockey game and then dinner at their place afterward.

Tomorrow, we’re heading to MOA since we have free passes to Nickelodeon universe that expire on Sunday.

Morning! Just hanging here at the house doing laundry and working on Christmas thank-you notes. It’s grey and damp out but in the low 60s, at least.

I think we are going to take down the tree and start working on getting all the holiday stuff put away today. It always makes me a little sad but I know I’ll be glad to have the ‘clutter’ gone once it’s done.

Yes mine did! So weird.

Tapa is dumb.  I don't know about notifications, but if I use Tapatalk, it never takes me to the last viewed post, from my phone, but from when I was on my desktop.  Sometimes, it jumbles up the posts as well.  It's annoying and why I rarely try to stay caught up when I'm not at work.

tallb we bought a new mattress when we moved here and ended up with a Simmons Beautyrest from Rooms To Go. What I like about them is that they carry multiple big brands, whereas most mattress stores tend to carry one or the other of Serta, Simmons, King’s Down, etc., and then their random ‘house’ brands. So it’s much easier to compare and contrast the different manufacturers and models. I also found them very straightforward with pricing—no games like what we were experiencing at mattress stores we also shopped.

tallb we bought a sleep number bed when we bought our house 10 years ago. We love it! I like a softer bed...MH prefers firm. So we have the best of both worlds.

Hiiii! Happy Friday. My Mom said they went out for a cart ride with my brother today. They love riding on their cart but I don't think they've gone out on it since my Dad got sick, so he really MUST be in better spirits.

In other news, DH's friends are going on a couples ski trip at the end of the month into early February. A couple had to drop out so they asked if we wanted to join. It's a week-long trip in CO - now I haven't skiied in almost 7 years and even then, I only skiied in VT, which is completely different. I could maybe survive 2-3 days, with rest days in between. But honestly between summer vacation and a potential trip or 2 to FL, I can't take 6 days off of work this early on. I felt badly because I know he feels like we don't do fun stuff together - and he doesn't get to spend much time with his friends - so I offered to go and just work from the room a few days while they ski, but he didn't seem into it. The same friend who brought up the trip, has plans to vacation in the same place as us this summer, so I think we'll try to align our schedules to at least overlap.

I bagged my run this morning because I couldn't get my HR down and got so frustrated. Fortunately I had MAT and the guy was very familiar with HR training and got me back in the right mindset. This whole thing is mentally draining!!

Hi from my couch. I have not been a stellar parent the last few days. I spent the better part of yesterday in the bathroom with tummy troubles while S kept herself busy with Daniel tiger and Christmas toys. Too bad she couldn’t cook for herself. Then I went to bed at 8 and woke up at 10 and started throwing up (which I was allegedly not supposed to be able to do after my stomach surgery about 2 years ago 🤷‍♀️). That lasted till about 3am, then S woke at 5:15 😩. MH will be back home tonight and I will be gladly passing off all parenting duties to him and retreating to the bedroom. I’m hoping S doesn’t get it! All she’s wanted to do is snuggle with me.

Also, I’ve been binge watching This is Us. Why did I not jump on the bandwagon sooner. I’m really enjoying it. Silver lining to being cooped up in the house sick.

Hey. Both kids were at school this morning!! I stopped to pick up a birthday gift for tomorrow after dropping S off and then came home to lay around. S is working on lunch right now and then it’s nap time.

Mattresses are a giant pain in the butt. We have had our King for a little over a year (or maybe it’s closer to 2 years, can’t remember) and DH is already complaining that it’s bothering his back. I think I need to get some sort of topper for it. My other issue is that in the middle where neither of us sleep regularly there is a hump. Ours is a pillow top that has memory foam in it.
