As far as paint goes, I’ve always used latex bc oil-based is harder to clean up, and it seems like it’s becoming more difficult to find. It’s probably just a question of doing some sanding/clean up to remove the gloss, but I’m sure google or the paint store would have tips.

I like Ben Moore colors, we used White Dove at my last house and I loved it. Cotton Balls is another good one. My sister used Sherwin Williams Alabaster and it seems to be a good one, too...’neutral’ and works with warm and cooler tones.

lahdeedah another paint color recommendation is pure white by sherwin Williams. It’s the color I got to paint the cabinet I got for my laundry room. Very true white with no undertones. I think the guy at the store said it’s (one of?) the most popular white trim color paint.
