First run of the year is in the books. It's borderline embarrassing to run in public so slowly but I can't get over the fact that this is apparently the exertion level I'm supposed to be running at for the bulk of my miles. No wonder I've been feeling like trash. Boys have been a bit crazy but it's mostly on Col. We didn't send him to daycare at all over school vacation so he's been without a schedule for almost 2 weeks. Thank goodness he's heading back tomorrow!

I took Cadence to my mom's today. After being there for about 15 minutes Cadence asked me if I could please leave now. 😒 Rude. So she's there until Saturday, which is when we will have Christmas with my mom, brother, and nephews.
Got home and now I'm bored. It's amazing how quiet the house is without the 6 year old.

I totally checked out of childcare today. I woke up feeling horrible. C and I took down all of the decorations and I made lunches but aside from that I’ve been sleeping. I feel bad because dh is fighting a cold too but I’m exhausted. Hopefully I’m better tomorrow because I have a meeting with the new Judge and I would hate to reschedule.

Hello and happy new year! We had lot of fun last night, but I definitely woke up with a worse cold. We did run out for errands /lunch today bit otherwise have kept it lowkey. Back to work tomorrow and I'm wishing wed gotten more little projects done around the house. Considering I always think it's too hard during "normal" parts of the year I'm surprised we didnt try to do more. Eh well, closets and drawers will get cleaned out eventually right? You are me every time I have a number of days off back to back. I plan to get a lot done, but somehow doing nothing while the house is quiet is so nice. That’s one of the things I would like to do better with this year. Productivity.

Happy New Year! @sands, that sounds so hard. I hope the time goes quickly. How often do you get to talk with him? No resolutions for me. I’m not good at keeping them, but I really want to make an overall re-commitment to my health. I don’t know what it looks like, but I’m hoping to make better choices each day. I feel better today, but I’ve been dozing myself with DayQuil. We had a nice dinner and dessert and played around with the furniture in Josie’s room. I hate that Josie and mh go back to school and work tomorrow. Charlie doesn’t start again til Monday. I wish they had the full two weeks off, too.

Today is not my day. I got everything together to put the shelf in the closet, had DH cut my boards and then accidentally knocked the drill off the bathroom counter and this happened. That, my friends, is a broken tile that just happens to go underneath the toilet. So now DH will have to remove the toilet to replace it. Then I discovered that the screws DH told me to buy were not long enough so I had to make a 2nd trip to the store to get the right ones. The shelf is finally in but man, I don’t know if all that was worth it.

Everyone made it to midnight last night, even C who then slept until 10:30 this morning (as did I). I’m now in bed and not tired but I am determined to get up at 5:15 and workout before going back to work. We are all so ready to be back in a routine but I’m glad the week starts on a Thursday so it’s only 2 days to power through.

Sorry about the tile. trtlcrzy So annoying when DIY projects become more work than you anticipated. I think my next project is to paint trim work. I want to start it while I’m motivated to get shit done because otherwise it may never happen. I have a goal to be done with all the painting by the end of February, that is, if my work schedule doesn’t pick up.

Hi!!!
I worked today. It was super quiet so I caught up on 85% of my paperwork. I hadn’t done any since October 😬. Oops I’ll be able (in theory) be able to finish it tomorrow.
I also won a $200 bjs restaurant gift card from one the radio stations in the area. I have to drive to Burbank to get it but that will inspire me to take the kids to the train park or something near there.

I’ve decided to use backup care to the fullest this year. Both kids 5 days $50 for an in home nanny. I can use it 15 times a year. I used it 4 times last year. I’m not taking vacation days as often. That’s my goal.

lahdeedah I did all the trim in our last house and have a great brush recommendation, if you need one! trtlcrzy that stinks. Totally one of those "if you give a mouse a cookie" situations we've talked about Glad your new shelving is up, though. Also Team Everyone Needs to Go Back to School.

flamingo Yes! Please tell me everything. I actually have a question for you about paint. Did you paint oil based or latex for trim? I think all my trim is done is oil based paint because of how smooth it is and I think the built ins have a little yellowing. I know if I paint with Latex paint, I will have to sand everything or treat it with a primer. I’m not sure about what I would have to do if I go oil based. Would I still have to sand and prime? Thoughts? Also if you have a recommendation on a white trim paint, please share.

Anybody following blinds today? Anything newsworthy? I just finished reading. Per typical Enty a lot of vague hinting without anything substantial. There was a really weird blind I don't believe about the government using mind control in movies and apparently Keanu is involved which is why a new Matrix and Bill and Ted are being released. Yeah, I didn't buy it either. The biggest for me was Brad Pitt is apparently a pedo (Juliette Lewis was mentioned by a commenter but the Blind was about Kirsten Dunst). There were 2 blinds about him within the first 2 or 3 pages. The rest I think wasn't anything really new and exciting. A lot of recycling and repackaging old material. There's a royal blind that claims Harry has a love child but most didn't believe it.

jewels whoever Enty is I think he has contact with a limited fringe group of Hollywood because he has blinds about the same people all the time. Many of these were the same things he's posted before or tabloid fodder you can read anywhere. 🤷♀️ Several were very, very long and definitely not worth the read. He badly needs an editor or a lesson in less is more.

I read very few. And it seems like it wasn't just me... usually those threads are super long with tons of discussions and this was not.

inthekitty,RE: the blind reveals. I was just glad to see that multiple posters pointed out how messed up the Interview with a Vampire blind was. It was worded along the lines of the things KD "allowed" to be done to her, which immediately pissed me off. SHE WAS 11 YEARS OLD. A damn child! But yes, let's blame her rather than focus on what a bunch of disgusting, powerful men did TO her. SMDH.

joelies yes! That one was the most shocking to me. I think Brad Pitt often gets a pass because he's, well, Brad Pitt. But if that's remotely true he's no better than any other pedophile. Unrelated, but I'm shocked Ben Afflect is still so prominent in Hollywood and gets so many roles. It's not like actors aren't a dime a dozen. I was thinking of Joseph Gordon Levitt and how he seemed like he was going to be a huge star and has all but disappeared. Yet Ben Afflect who seems to be nothing but a drunken douche is still out there

Also very underwhelmed by the blinds. I do what jewels does and read who it’s about first. Most were TL;DR.

flamingo Thanks for the info! You recommended that brush before and it’s my favorite. I tried to used a couple other brands after using that one, and not as good. Good to know it works well on trim, too! Going to look up those colors. I think I read a blog a while back that mentioned white dove. I’ll check out alabaster, too. Thanks again!

Is anyone making resolutions this year? Not a resolution, really, but I’m doing January Whole 30. Just because it’s a little easier to do this month than others (not much happening socially) since a lot of people do it this time of year and the resources are a bit more abundant.

Also thanks for the blinds break down. I haven’t been following along for a while now, but usually check out the New Years and July 4th ones. Glad I didn’t waste the time this go ‘round.
