We've had nothing but issues with our Kindles so I planned on the Switch to replace them for activities in the car. I was kind of bummed there wouldn't be a movie option anymore. Discovered the kids can watch Hulu on them and soon Disney+ will be available. Wahoo! What kind of issues? We've gone through a lot. Free time is awesome. But the units themselves suck. I get expandable memory cards yet even with the default to put stuff on the cards at least part of all the games goes on the hard drive and clogs them up in no time. Once they are full they work so effing slow it takes forever to even delete games. I have an old one I want to get rid of but it's so jacked up it won't even let me factory reset it so I'm giving it to MH for target practice. On some of the older ones the charging ports would come loose and they wouldn't charge. Our current ones won't hold a charge. Sometimes they freeze or just won't turn on. On car rides I spend so much time trouble shooting them it's a PITA. I loved one of my old Kindles which was one of the higher tier fancy ones, we've always only bought the lowest tier for the kids and maybe the more expensive ones are better. But I figured I've owned Nintendo products for decades and never had these problems so I'll just go with them. 🤷♀️

inthekitty I just got out our kindles for the first time in years right before Christmas. One of them kept having storage issues despite the memory card and I gave up on it once we got the iPad. I decided to get it out because I’m still paying for free time and I’m hoping that the book selection for reading levels is plentiful so M can practice. I feel like I need a refresher course on how to work the damn things again.

I finally decided to get rid of free time even though it's a couple bucks a month because the kids rarely choose to read books on the Kindle and with the Nintendos it's an expense we don't need.

I hated S’s kindle. 1. I am an Apple person so I just struggled with operating it and finding things. 2. I couldn’t lock S into apps or videos like the Apple products and she constantly gets out of things and then wants me to get it back up. It was annoying. 3. Slow responses. 4. I went through 3 memory cards...the first one lasted a while, then suddenly there was an error and it wouldn’t work anymore. So I bought another and re-downloaded everything and then it happened again a few months later. I switched to the iPad at that point. But then when we went to Fiji last year I took it and got another memory card and downloaded a bunch of stuff for me for the long plane ride and all the airport time because MH was using the iPad and I didn’t want to watch the same stuff as him. But I retired it after that.

Sierra’s favorite gift was this...(please pay no attention to the gross carpet, it’s a playroom, and my child is a tiny tornado that spits out medicine and holds her supply cups upside down and shakes vigorously to purposely make it leak because she is a wild beast. I will replace it once she becomes a tame child...someday).

That’s a cute dog! I want him. lfig I hope you enjoy the play, or did enjoy it. I’ve seen those little pod things sold on Sam’s. They look really neat, but I have no where in my house to put one. I think Costco has an outdoor one, but we have no big trees in our years either.
