I didn't see this, this week so I'll start. Also was thinking we can combo weekly check ins and appts? I think many are on a 4 wk appt. save a few of us. Let's try here.
Share with us how you're feeling, any concerns?
Appt. update this week. What type of appt?
How was it?
Any feels/vents/etc?
Learn anything new?
Next appointment?

I'm annoyed with my OB office. I scheduled an appointment and planned to do my 3 hour glucose test tomorrow morning. I get a call yesterday confirming my appointment at a completely different office than I typically go to and they can't so the 3 hour test at that office.
1. I was not informed the appointment was at another office in the practice when they booked it.
2. I have to get this stupid test done.
3. Of course they can't secure me an appointment at my normal office tomorrow with another doctor.
So I now have to make two trips, instead of one to get both the test and appointment done. Tomorrow glucose test, next Wednesday OB appointment. And I was on the phone with the office staff for over 30 minutes trying to sort this out. It shouldn't be that difficult.

mkrupar that sucks. I feel like a practice should bend over backwards to get you when they screw up scheduling like that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

mkrupar, your OB clinic sounds like they need to work on their communication skills. So frustrating. FX with your GD test tomorrow! Hopefully you pass. I think I am going to need one like my OB predicts...sigh!

Squeeze me in. 20 minutes tops. I'm going to ask when I get there of There had any cancellations. Do you think if I cried a little they'd take pity? Lol

I think I am going to need one like my OB predicts...sigh! Funny you should say that. I was looking up the number the other day to call them and came across the Yelp reviews. Everyone looooves the doctors, but a majority of complaints were about the office staff and their disorganization. I haven't had a problem before this, so I was hoping things had gotten better, but apparently not.

Hey guys. I just got home from my OB appointment. It was good, overall fairly boring but I did get some exciting paperwork!!
Baby front: Everything was good, HB is in the 140s. I've gained a few pounds, as expected but I'm right on track.
Paperwork front: I got my hospital pre-registration today!! I also got directions for my glucose test which is in 3 weeks, but that's not very exciting lol. Also got some info on picking a pediatrician as well as a paper on recognizing signs of labor. It's getting real, yall!
Oh. And I also got my prescription for my breast pump. Now to call Tricare - boooo.

I ended up with an actual appointment today. Baby's heartbeat was 145.
We talked about my pre-e diagnosis. She said it was fairly early to be showing signs, so well be upping the monitoring.
I got a dreaded pee jug and have to do a 24 hour catch with bloodwork. I thought I could avoid another, but alas, the OB says it must be done.
She asked me if I had help at home with DD, because while they don't put people on bed rest, they still require limited activity. So, we're now in discussions with my dad and partners about DD and I moving in with them in the next week or two so I have help with DD. I lived with them on bed rest during my last pregnancy, and for six weeks after DD's birth, so not something that is foreign to us, just much earlier than I would like.
I have my next appointment in two weeks, and the OB told me to call the MFM for a follow up with her. They moved my next growth US up from the 27th to next Friday the 14th and I'll meet with the MFM then.

mkruparThis update makes me sad for you. I'm sorry!! ❤ I'm sad too. I cried a lot yesterday talking logistics with everyone and again when I got home after putting DD to bed. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared about all of the what ifs and unknowns right now, but we'll just take it one day at a time. So long as this doesn't turn in to the severe form of pre-e we can keep baby cooking. OB did confirm our first milestone will be 34 weeks. Fingers crossed we make it that far and further.

mkrupar, LT for your dad! he sounds awesome. Sorry you're having to go through this esp. with everything everything else going on. Really glad to hear that you can lean on your dad for help at times like these. I am so so fortunate and thankful. My mom is a godsend. I am happy too that DS will be starting pre-school next month and she'll can have a break although she has been watching him when I was working but she's been having to watch him over the last few weekends cos hubs has had a lot of work to do around the house. We're here for you and we can count our weekly milestones together! same with you ssm, glad you decided to come back.

What type of appt? Glucose test and OB check-up.
How was it? Fine, I passed the test with flying colors and got to hear baby boy's HB which is always fun.
Any feels/vents/etc? The dr I saw to day was my least favorite one. As soon as he walked in the room, he started talking about the 4th degree tear I got with DD and how that often means a c-section for the next baby, depending on how it healed and how big the baby is. The other dr has already told me how great I healed up last time, and the midwife who birthed DD has talked about it too, mentioning that I may not tear as bad with the second. Never once did a c-section get brought up by them just because of the previous tear. So, I'm not putting much stock in it. I get to see my favorite midwife again in 2 weeks so I'll bring it up with her.
Learn anything new? Aside from the above info, the lab said my hemoglobin was a little low. Once the dr looks at it, they may call some iron supplements in to me, so we'll see.
Next appointment? 2 weeks - and with my favorite midwife no less! I'm so excited to be at the two week appointment mark.

I had my 25 week MFM appointment today, and it went really well!
How was it? Good! The internal bleeding is almost gone, there is significantly less debris in the amniotic sac, my cervix is 2.9cm long, and the baby is growing right on track 😀. The doctors think that the clearing up of amniotic debris and the smaller size of my SCH mean my membranes have less risk of rupturing early. Our next big goal is 28 weeks, which will put me solidly into 3rd tri.
Any feels/vents/etc? The only bummer was a surprise 1 hr glucose test that I wasn't expecting, but it wasn't that big of a deal.
Learn anything new? My risk of PPROM is getting lower at each appointment, which is very happy news. The doctors approved me to stay on modified bed rest for another 2 weeks, so I can keep moving around a bit. After being in bed for 3 months, it's so nice just to walk/stand, even if only for 10-15 minutes a few times a day.
Next appointment? 2 weeks from today - hoping for the debris to be totally gone and my sch to have completely resolved by then. 🤞🤞🤞

I realize I didn't check-in despite me starting the thread lol! but I think most of you guys already know all about it with me serial position in the various threads. Had my OB appt. Monday. Everytthing looks stable and bubs HB sounded good according to my OB. I also did my 1 hr glucose that same day and as my OB predicted I would fail even though my numbers were in the "normal" range when they finger prick tested me but I guess she knows from the number and glucose in my pee. Due to holiday, my results weren't available until yesterday afternoon when the nurse called and said I failed - no surprises there! So now I have to go do the 3 hr test sometime next week. Boo! I think this time around, bubs is hanging really low for some reason so if I am up on my feet more, I tend to feel super heavy by the end of the day so I've been conscious about making sure I keep my feet up as much as I can throughout the day. Also I figured out I can use DS' high chair to sit on when I prep food in the kitchen so exciting!

Taitai, So glad to see a good report for you!! Keep baking that baby! duskymonkey, Sorry you failed. Is there a reason you failed even though your finger prick was good? mkrupar, I'm sorry you have to deal with that.

Just my glucose test tomorrow. Midwife appointment isn't until next week. They are also testing my iron because I ended up on supplements with DD and have had issues with low iron numerous times over the years. Usually I know when my iron is low by the way I feel and I feel ok so we'll see!

mkrupar, big hugs...☹️ Did you have GD last pregnancy? It's rough but diet restriction is only for the next 3 months which is what I've convinced myself as I may be facing this too this time. Still big stinker on top of everything you have. You've got this! You can do it! Just a few months.

thatgirlrachel, I had a trace of glucose in my pee and I think even though my finger prick was "normal" the number was on the higher end and my OB I am sure with her years of experience knew I would fail the 1 hr. Armed with this info we decided to take the test anyways because we rather find out sooner than later. Also I am over 40 so very susceptible of developing GD even though I didn't have it with DS the first time and yes I was also in the geriatric category then.

Copy and paste from high risk
Well it is as I expected. Another glucose test today. I'm glad I followed my gut and left ds with a friend. All my symptoms could be from a few different things - not being hydrated enough - blood sugar too low - blood sugar swings from super high to super low - not enough protein - it is always possible to be a bp issue, but since I haven't checked it in the middle of a bad spell, I can't really say
My dip test was a bit concentrated and showed trace proteins. But that can happen if you are dehydrated as well. So not sure exactly on that.
She is checking my electrolytes as well.
I'm not sure if I helped or hindered myself today. I ate chicken tenders on my way over for some protein. But I also ate a biscuit. Now I'm kicking myself.
She is glad that I am keeping an eye on the bp to see about trends or trying to pinpoint if things dont go well.
