TW TW TW TW News story about missing woman {TW}
I'm absolutely dumbfounded by the woman from Austin who went missing. They found her dead in a trunk of a car outside Houston. Her "close friend" murdered her, faked her own pregnancy, and stole her baby. Luckily, the baby is safe now. But seriously, WTAF!!! People are so effing psycho, it's ridiculous.

The length some mentally ill people will go to get a baby is insane. A couple years ago something similar happened in Fargo, but instead of a friend it was a couple in her apartment complex. Those poor babies. klong11 |

Morning. Just me and S hanging at home today. H threw a massive fit about the clothes I picked out for her this morning, which was real fun. She did end up making it to the bus in time. I really need to get laundry folded and put away, it’s been sitting in a basket at the end of my bed since at least Monday. Whoops. I checked my informed delivery and it looks like I’m getting 7 Christmas cards today, so exciting! My actual Christmas cards are also supposed to be delivered today so I will be writing addresses like a crazy person when they get here so I can get them out ASAP.

trtlcrzy, honestly, it sounds like something one would see on a lifetime movie. Oh yeah, for sure. There was an episode of private practice a long time ago where it happened to one of the doctors. I’m sure it’s where these people get the idea. Unfortunately I think it happens more than we know. |

Morning! Happy Friday, friends!
I am so excited to have some time off and not be up at 5.30am and rushing out the door, it'll be nice to hang out. B had a full Christmas party day at school yesterday with all the grades, then the daycare party was yesterday, and today he's got a half day of in class partying and daycare secret Santa exchange in the afternoon. So much fun for them!
I've got to get the pizza ordered for the daycare teachers for delivery at noon...brb

Weather is total shit here. I'm sitting barefoot in my office trying to dry my socks and shoes with my fan because they got drenched in the sea that was our parking lot.
We head down to OR tonight and I always say I'm going to pack the night before and never do. Well I did this time and I think I'm more or less ready to go. The girls still need to pack but MH can take care of that today.

Has everyone seen the Macy’s commercial by SNL? I just rewatched bc I needed the laugh.
We are due to leave early tmrw so I’m trying to get us all packed up. I thought we’d settled on taking my H’s car bc of all the crap we’re packing, but now we’re thinking of taking mine bc it’s supposed to rain all weekend (he has a truck). We’re planning to get a Tahoe when we move back to FL but I have half a mind to head to the dealership today.

klong11 yes I’d followed that case a bit, so sad. Ppl are nuts. We just had two children go missing from their front yard in my hometown; they were gone over 48 hours and were finally found in some woods. A bit dinged up but alright. Especially on the heels of the Cupcake McKinney case in B’ham and Taylor Williams in my town, I think we (as a city) were so relieved to find them alive. It felt like a Christmas miracle.

Morning. My Dad went in for his biopsy this morning but my Mom was concerned he was too amped up to get it done. They gave him a sedative but my Dad hates doctors and hospitals on his very best day, and today is NOT that day. Poor guy. I'm waiting to hear the latest.
In other news, it's freezing, I had to convince a very unhappy Colin to wear big kid pjs (i.e., a pair of Avengers pants and a tshirt) to school instead of an old and very tight 5T pair of fireman PJs, and Chase was Captain Clingy at dropoff. BUT I've been super productive and have my January trip to Calgary booked, so I guess it's not all bad. Haha.

Morning ladies! First day of my vacation. I dropped evie and school and spent 2 hours wrapping presents. I have an HVAC guy coming to service our furnace, which I should have done in Sept/Oct, but whatever.
Need to go exchange a vest I got for my mom in a different size, but then I plan on binge watching The Crown.

It may be a UO that I don't really like fancy restaurants hardy ever even without kids. I eat mostly vegetarian and most of those places focus on meat (it feels like a ripoff to spend $$$ on veggies). Not to mention I hate making a whole ordeal out of eating and sitting forever in a restaurant. I want to get my food promptly eat, and GTFO. I don't find it relaxing to hang out at a restaurant.

B went back to school today. Fingers crossed he's on the upswing!
Somehow we are hosting 6 people Sunday night for the first night of Hannukah (not too bad), and 12 people on Christmas eve. What started out as me asking our one set of Jewish friends to come over, turned into a party for 3 families, and now I feel pressure b/c it's christmas eve! And MH (who does 90% of the cooking and set up when we have people over) is down for the count with a broken back.

So happy it's Friday! I'm at work and tonight my in-laws are taking C and L to spend the night so MH and I can get out all the presents. I need to wrap and figure out what all those unopened boxes even have in them! MH needs to put together the giant dollhouse!

As to fancy restaurants, I feel there is a time and a place for both the fancy, and the casual. I enjoy a fancy occassionally, but I am really picky and a lot of times I think the fancy places go overboard to be different and I have trouble finding something I will like. But a good fancy fish or Italian place is my jam.

I got the cutest card from my little brother. It was the first year he's done Christmas cards. He and his partner did a photo shoot with their dogs. He's like a different person since coming out of the closet a couple years ago and I'm happy to see him more comfortable being himself. My stepdad took a long time to come around and accept it. It's hard to stay a bigot though when you see how happy your kid is (not to mention this BiL is the sweetest, funniest guy ever and I adore him).

I just texted everyone that we are just going to do tons of Apps. So now everyone is bringing their fav app and I think I 'll order a try of baked ziti and meatballs or something and call it a day. I originally wanted to do a traditional Hannukah type meal, but F That now.

I'm like that Onion article that is about a mom who just keeps commenting when out to eat she can make all this stuff at home cheaper. I'm the worst in that regard. And no, I don't want to cook it or do the clean up so that's what makes eating out win for me, but I find it boring and don't want that to be the focus of an outing if that makes sense? I'm like a kid, I need my entertainment.
