Ooh, I think B would love Big! We watched Honey I Shrunk the Kids recently and he enjoyed that. We got another RSVP for B’s party so we’re up to 10 kids, plus C and a friend’s 3 y.o. who is tagging along. So I think this will feel sufficiently festive and we won’t end up on Yahoo News having to invite the fire department or whatnot bc no one showed. 😬 Question: are y’all giving a holiday gift to your kids’ bus drivers? If so, what is appropriate? Cash? Gift card? Other? My girls loved Honey I Shrunk the Kids but oh man the tears when {Spoiler} Anty dies. Fun fact, the boy in Honey I Shrunk the Kids is also the friend in Big. He also starred as one of the sons in Overboard. The girls also love Overboard, Baby Boom, Three Men and a Baby, and Home Alone. I need to have them watch E.T. again. Madison recently watched The Journey of Natty Gann (on Disney+) and loved it. It's fun watching the old movies with them. Yes to bus driver gift--doing the same thing as for the teachers--a little goodie bag with some chocolate, shea butter hand cream, and maybe a small value gift card. It's much easier now that we don't have so many care providers. I think last year we had to buy for 12, this year there are just 4. Yay for RSVPs!

I work at my other job Fri-SUN and I can't wait until it's over with. I've been super tired lately and that job always drains me because even when it's slow I have to be more "on." I hope it goes by quickly so I can be done with it for the month. Last night the girls and I finished watching Big. They loved it. It's always been one of my favorites. Such a cute movie. I bought the kids one of those huge piano mats for Christmas. Most of the stuff I got as gifts is to complete the playroom and I’m so excited: tabletop air hockey, Skeeball, a popcorn machine, huge fuzzy rug, gumball machine, play tent, etc. Can’t wait to see how much gum ends up in that new rug. I expect the boys to have mastered playing Heart and Soul on the piano by Easter. I want to hang out in your play room. I would freaking love a popcorn machine. Possible UO, but I think school popcorn machines make the best popcorn. Movie theater popcorn often tastes too fake or weird or something. School machine popcorn is the bomb.com.

Most of those movies are subtitled over here, so we’ll have to wait until the kids can read fast enough. I really want to watch Mathilda with them .

Oh good call on the gift for the bus driver... I hadn't though about that. I believe C has a different bus driver to and from school.

I was checking out the UO on GD and oh my 'lanta, as per usual, they are making drama out of nothing. I know one of the posters they are focusing on can be...challenging, but lord the digging in that leather is so much easier to clean in a car and cloth is a nightmare. A giant mess in your car is a giant mess in your car no matter what the material. I've never found it much more of a challenge to clean up cloth than I have leather. And to keep bringing up the scenario of having a giant cup of spilled pop to clean up a week later...never once have I had a spilled beverage in my car and not discovered it for a week--let alone pop. I don't think that makes me some giant special princess who acts cleaner that thou art to say that either. But even if I did have to clean up that mess, it's going to take more than a quick wipe up no matter what the material. *eye roll*

I’m glad this was mentioned because I was listing off everyone to buy for this morning and didn’t think to include the bus driver. I’m going with a nice three wick candle from BBW and a $10 Starbucks card for everyone.

Well, I thought I would be productive today, but those hopes have evaporated now that I had to pick up X early due to him telling his teacher “tummy hurts” and having three runny diapers this morning.

Ugh, sorry cagoldi. Sometimes I feel like the biggest mistake I can do is plan to get a lot done during the day. Hope X feels better soon.

And I just started my period. Praise be. I had my period at the beginning of the month and it was a particularly miserable one. I looked at my period app and was confused when it wasn't showing my next period until the end of JAN. Then I realized that's because it was showing I'm scheduled to have a second period at the end of DEC. I wanted to scream and throw my phone across the fricking room. I want early menopause for Christmas.

cagoldi when it rains it pours! Great news trtlcrzy ☺️ inthekitty I haven’t read today but yeah, the stuff some of those people get het up about is...something. I rarely wade in over there unless I can offer concrete advice in a ‘need help’ type thread...as the old saying goes, “fools walk in where angels fear to tread”.

Hi Ladies! trtlcrzy , glad everything is going well!! Layla watched Home Alone with us the other day. She loooooooved it. I had to talk to her a little bit about how he doesn't make very good choices, but she understood that it was just a movie. Home Alone was one of M's favorites last year. I asked her if she wanted to watch it over the weekend and now she thinks it's too scary. We've been watching it on repeat here. M asked me if we could go on vacation soon so we can forget him 🤦♀️🤣

The only movie Cadence wants to watch right now is The Grinch. I'm just glad it's not the weird Jim Carrey one.

M has been asking me to have Jello at home for the past week. I keep saying I forgot at the store and he should make me a reminder. He put it in my lunchbox.

I rarely wade in over there unless I can offer concrete advice in a ‘need help’ type thread...as the old saying goes, “fools walk in where angels fear to tread”. I used to regularly check out GD. Now it's a rare occurrence. They just get more and more ridiculous about the things they choose to focus on and willfully misinterpret/make a mountain out of a molehill. I really don't understand the need to manufacture so much drama. In my mind the UO/confession threads should be lighthearted joking threads (and sometimes they are), but usually they turn them into something serious and heated. So of course I'm here, but also the blinds/other entertainment threads and mostly steer clear of the rest.

trtlcrzy so happy for you! Do the girls know yet? Yes, I told them a few days after my first ultrasound. It’s kind of weird but there’s something that’s different and I’ve felt more confident about this pregnancy from the beginning so I felt ok telling them after I saw the heartbeat.

So I was up all night with C. He stayed home with DH and DS who was home to get his braces and my dad said he’d come stay with C when they had to go. Get to work and DH texted DD has a migraine and is throwing up. Not a single migraine for months and then she gets one the day after we see the neurologist. DH and are have both been slammed at work and I’m having C’s party Saturday, plus Christmas and taking classes. Tomorrow I took the morning off to go to DD’s concert and tomorrow night is my work holiday party. I really hope we all get our shit together tonight. Taking C to doctor at 6. Got him a pulmonologist appointment on the 30th and got DD a cardiologist Appointment on the 23rd (bless them, she has an appointment with gastro that day in the same building and they squeezed her in right before that one). I do think the hospital might have a Star by our names saying “take extra care of these people” ever since they almost killed me. Both doctors said appointments would be February then I gave my name and stuff opened up.
T however had a great day. Santa came to kindergarten and happens to be a friend of ours and called him by name. He was so excited.

Busy day at work, then a lovely leisurely trip to World Market. Now I'm at the spa....aka I'm in PJs with a glass of wine while the kids are in the tub. L is screaming at me now about her goggles but I'm just trying to keep my Zen.

I just love that my mother texts me saying she got our Christmas card, then turns it around to "why don't you take family pictures, you need pictures of yourself for family when you're dead, blah blah blah" I just....ugh. it's not like I don't have pictures of myself, I just don't plaster them on my social media or mail or whatever. Now I'm annoyed. Plus, my damn fb profile picture is me and cadence together. 🙄
