I’m dealing with family drama. Not loving it.

chrisy01 I’m sorry. Family drama sucks. We’ve had our fair share these last couple off weeks and it just sucks the energy out of you. We’re here if you need to talk/vent.

Morning. Tonight is Sinterklaasavond/Pakjesavond (present evening) the kids are beyond exited. In my need for something positive last week, I went full on overboard with the presents... Whoops. I hope the kids will be elated.

Quiet morning here, DH has a ceremony to attend this morning so he was able to take C to school. Once B heads out I will have the house to myself 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I am working on Xmas cards and laundry today. The new light saber might also get hidden 😏

Slow moving this morning, n slept til 8! And then we get to school and they are evacuated for a fire alarm so I had to park around the block and wait until we got the all clear. So I'm late for work and already pumping. Hoping the principal reaches out today, I'll keep you all posted.

Morning all. Yesterday was such a long day, we had our Christmas lunch for work and went to a Brazilian restaurant and the waitress was all 'oh do you want the 6oz pr 9oz of wine'...i ordered a 9, which isnt delightful middle of the day with such a big meal AND having to come back to work after. In the words of lahdeedah I needed to adult better in that moment.

B had his Christmas concert last night and since he found out that Little Drummer Boy is my fav Christmas song he was so excited that he was singing it for me, it was adorable and J was dancing along the whole time yelling for B and waving like a maniac.

I'm dragging today but the executives want us all to have a forced fun afternoon of Christmas games and stuff....yay.

I am at work today and B is home with various babysitters. But he is totally acting fine. Kid's such a trooper
I'm assuming S has a holiday concert coming up b/c he keeps coming home singing random songs (last night it was a whole song and dance to a Kwanza song) but I haven't gotten any info from the school about it. I should go investigate their website since it's probably at like 2:00 or something super convenient for working parents

I wish I were kidding tgrimes he does this every year, a few times a year. We've kind of pushed our way this year that we'll have a table set up to play board games for those that dont want to play 'Christmas guess that tune' and/or Christmas Jeopardy. Eye roll for days.

Also, lets not get into the fact that he gives zero money for snacks, prizes etc for any of these events and there isnt a budget for it cause government. So there are raffles and shit throughout the year to raise money for there to be snacks and little prizes.

I've got a lot of feels on this shit...

In my attempt to adult better, I went to work out after dropping M2 off. I have been so lazy all week and I know working out put me in a better, more energetic mood. I just made some returns that I’ve been putting off because it’s way across town. I’m now sitting at the Chicken Salad Chick drive thru waiting for them to open so I can order. If I’m on this side of town, I have to grab it. I used to live 5 minutes from one and the only one here is 25 minutes away.

Going home to do some organizing and get more of our Christmas decorations up.

Jealous of your CSC run, we don’t have it here Please have some Fancy Nancy and pasta salad for me. I’ve never seen one with a drive-thru, that sounds amazing!

My sister came over on Tuesday and we had a couple glasses of wine in the afternoon. She left and I was sooooo tired. Mid day wine drinking is only delightful when you're able to nap after!

As someone who has also had too much wine at lunch, I can confirm it makes for a rough afternoon. Plenty of time to sober up before the drive home, but damn.

And the saga continues with the bullshit happening here. They're discussing closing our facility the week between Christmas and New Years, cool. I had that time requested off anyway. But if the new owners approve it, they will also announce that Tuesday, when they tell everyone our company has been sold. So you're giving people their last paycheck as well as telling them to take a week off. So many hourly employees will not return.

I did find out this morning, that Tuesday, when I get my last check, paid for all my PTO accrued plus an additional 40 hours, and my retention bonus, that I will get a letter stating if I stay with the company until 12/1/21, two years, I will get a LARGE bonus. Like, more than half of my annual salary. I was shocked.

I'll be so glad when this month is over.

Bummer! Apparently they are putting one in my town, but I’m not sure where or when it will open. The one by my old house had a drive thru and it was too easy to just stop and pick it up on the way home when I didn’t feel like cooking or needed a quick lunch. I also love their pimento cheese. It’s probably best for my wallet that they aren’t close anymore.

mwhip, you should have seen me deleting emails prior to leaving my old job. I wanted to keep my email active so the person taking over could use my history but there was so much in there I didn't want seen (like emails about the boss' extracurricular activity)

Hey. I’ve been deep cleaning my kitchen this morning. The parts for the dryer came so I really do need to pull that thing apart to fix it, but I want to wait until DH is home because it’s kind of a beast to wrangle. After H gets home from school I have to take both girls to the dentist. They usually do fine so FX it goes well today. Then tonight I have to work and the ILs are coming over again to watch the girls. DH was home at 9 last night so hopefully it’s the same or earlier tonight.

I have never heard of this place and I’m so curious about it now.

Lots of different kinds of chicken salad, sandwiches, soups and sides. I like it b/c it's fresh and feels healthier than fast food if you just need a quick bite. It's mostly in the south, although they've expanded a bit northward.

Same reason why I like it, fresher than fast food, but easy to pick up. You can buy the chicken salad and sides by the pound, too. I would sometimes buy a pound for lunch for the week. The franchise here just opened a few weeks after we moved, but still a trek to get there.

I don’t know that I’m that into chicken salad. And this may be blasphemy to you, but I’ve never had pimento cheese. I don’t even know where I could find it here.
