I’m tired, does anyone else just feel like they will never have energy again?
M did really well flying over thanksgiving and we had a good trip! He’s finally getting much better at sitting up, hopefully teeth are next, he’s been so fussy and drooly lately.
MIL got all pissy when we said our tradition will be to stay home Christmas Day but they’re welcome to come over and we can do dinner at her house a day or two before based on work schedules. Sigh, I thought that was more than fair.

bex15 Hugs!. I will tell you things eventually get easier. I have pumped for a year with each kid so I am currently counting down the days until I dont have to worry about pump parts and bottles 5 days a week. It been a long fall with illiness and baby sleep troubles for me and I know I am out of energy some days, but eventually kids do sleep and play on their own. Is their anyway you can get some extra help, while your husband is focusing on himself?

bex15, I am also in the zone of no energy. Did you say if M was sleeping through the night? We are up still at least 1x, then again at 5 am although we can usually get them back down. Last week was awful with the virus but they seem to be much better. We are also so close to teeth. Tomorrow is their 9 month checkup so I will update more after. BTW I think your Christmas plan is more than fair! Better to be up front in the beginning/first year. We also said we want Christmas morning to always be just our fam and made that expectation clear. This was after my ILs gave my niece a big tricycle under their tree "from Santa" a few years ago. So generous, but I want to play Santa with my kids! As to your second post, you are an amazing and supportive person. Big hugs and let me know if you ever need to chat/vent.

All the hugs bex15! I’m glad that he is getting help. Do you have a good support system locally with family or friends that can help you? I also feel like I’ll never have energy again! I’m glad your DS did well on the flights. We leave tomorrow morning to fly across the country. I’m praying DD does well!

Thank you everyone, I appreciate the good thoughts! The only local person we have really is MIL and she knows what's going on but never offers to help, I can ask her if need be, but honestly I don't like asking for help when I know that a day could come when I do need to rely on her if Miles is sick or something and I can't miss work. Figure I'll save my favors for when I truly need them. Eames M is not sleeping through the night yet though we're down to only one wake up normally, he has a quick bottle and goes right back down. orangehibiscus good luck on your flight today! I was very happy to get the first one over with.

Also hi everyone! I haven't been around these parts much but it sounds like we're all in a similar spot - I'm so tired all the time! DS does sleep through the night, unless he's sick (which....is every other week blah) so in theory I should get plenty of sleep, but man they're exhausting. My DD has started getting very clingy again and is starting to show some jealousy - I took her out to breakfast a few weeks ago and she told me how excited she was for no Daddy and no baby.
DS is doing well other than the constant sickness. He's sitting up by himself and loves food (he's more into food than bottles.) He's still eating purees though, I feel like I want to start offering him finger foods, but what to start with? He doesn't have any teeth yet.
I'll try to be better about checking in, work is super busy and my direct supervisor is leaving, plus the next three weekends we have jam-packed days and then it's Christmas already and I'm like, where is time going?!

Hey everyone! So Max is... generally sleeping through the night. I think. We moved him to his own room, went cold turkey on the swaddling and now he sleeps from 7:30 to 5. The 5am wake ups are brutal but.. it’s SO SO SO MUCH BETTER. He wakes up sometimes at 2-3, and sometimes my H will walk him around, but he’s been ok. I dunno. Maybe he needed to be away from me? Or like, his little fusses I was making into a bigger deal and he needed to just... fuss for a bit? I don’t even really care, we go to bed at 9:30 and 7 hours or whatever feels like heaven. He still struggles with naps, but I really think he just has crazy FOMO. He’s eating like a champ. Mostly thick purées still, but he loves mum mums and he had whole blueberries tonight. He also had mashed potato and some turkey on Thanksgiving. He’s 7.5 months (8 months on the 13th) so I’m trying not to pressure him. He only has one tooth so not much to chew with. But he’s clearly healthy - he’s around 23lbs and like 29 inches. Giant baby. He’s trying desperately to crawl and pull himself up. He almost launched himself out of his pack and play this afternoon (I have the newborn part still on bc I was changing him on it on our first floor). He was sitting up and then suddenly was on his knees. I hope everyone else is doing well! And sicknesses all go away, that sounds so awful bex15, I missed your poof, but I hope you’re ok.

Hey everyone!
Dd is going to be 9 months next week. I’m not sure how that happened! She is a crawling machine and pulls herself up! She still isn’t sleeping through the night though. Mh is trying to get me to do CIO but I just have a hard time with it. We did it with our other two so I’m not sure what is holding me back.
We’re still on purées and the baby puffs. She finally had a tooth pop through last week. I know I need to start giving her actual food but I just get so nervous with choking.
Also, I started Zoloft a few weeks ago and I’m so so so happy I did it. Im finally feeling like myself again. I just wish I would have done this sooner.
@bex I missed the poof but I hope everything is ok!

haleyscott I just started on Zoloft too about a month ago and it has been so helpful. I’m glad it’s helping you too. PPD is so rough. bex15 I missed your poof but hope your doing ok. I am feeling the echo as well. Just don’t feel like I can ever catch up on things. lemondrop I’m so glad sleep is improving it’s so hard when they aren’t sleeping good! C is crawling and pulling up and cruising and getting into everything. I am so bad about food. I definitely don’t do enough solids. He seems to like pieces of food better than purées but I get nervous about choking. His sleep got really bad so we did Taking Cara Babies and it has been really helpful so far. It is a modified cry it out which I didn’t think I would ever do cu I wouldn’t with my first but I needed sleep and it was only one night of longer crying and then only a minute or two. We still have to do it for naps so hope that helps too.

Yay for sleep lemondrop! I'm so so happy for you. Now wish me some of that magic, lol. @ges072115 we do small bits of scrambled egg, soft cooked veg pieces like carrot, mashed potatoes, pancakes, the other day I made a lentil soup they liked... really, almost everything we have! I just make sure the bits are super small. The lentils were perfect sized. They like veggies from soups and things like chicken pot pie.

I’m so glad y’all are getting some sleep lemondrop! I’m glad the Zoloft is helping haleyscott and snickerdoodle! We just got back yesterday from our vacation. DD did so well on all of our flights. She slept through basically all of them. When she was awake, she played with her toys. Someone even asked me if we had given her Benadryl to make her sleep...umm...NO way! We had a wonderful visit with the ILs, and DD loved them. She also got to meet my grandparents, which was really nice. They’re 90 and almost 93, so I’m glad she got to meet them. DD is all about food now! She even likes eggplant, leeks, mushrooms, and goat cheese! She basically likes everything savory, but she isn’t much on sweet things like fruit. She has also decided that she loves ice cold water from a straw. She can’t suck on the straw yet, but I put my finger over the end and put some in her mouth. She also learned how to clap while we were on vacation! It’s so cute to watch her learn new things. ETA: accidentally tagged the wrong person

What are everyone's favorite books? I need some new ones for Christmas. We are getting her the Little Golden Book series. We put those on her Christmas list too. So far we have The Pokey Little Puppy, The Big Red Caboose, one about a ballerina (I think??), and one about a shy kitten. The ILs also got her a cool book about the Itsy Bitsy Spider that she can touch.

We took our first out of town trip today for my family’s Christmas gathering. Soooo many people. I’m hiding in my mom’s guest room waiting for DS to fall asleep in the pack and play. He did really well during the drive but wants nothing to do with napping.
At least I have wine.
Hope everyone is doing well!

Merry Christmas!! We had such a fun morning, M is a pro at opening gifts! I keep getting overwhelmed with emotions that we actually have a baby to spend the holidays with, makes everything so special.

The baby boys are happy playing with the discarded wrapping paper, but big sis "gets" Christmas this year and it is sooo much fun! Attempting to get the boys to go down for morning nap is so far proving unsuccessful, so here's hoping we at least get a car nap on the way to my folks. I was up at 4 am this morning, I'm ready for a nap too!

Merry Christmas everyone...after 4 Christmas parties with late nights and lots of car naps over the last few days. N is napping after a morning of trying to eat paper and cardboard. She was one tired girl this morning.

Merry Christmas everyone! DD wasn’t in to unwrapping presents. She loved her toy horses, and she kept putting them in her mouth. She helped H open his stocking, and she held on to his container of gum all through opening presents. I’m feeling all the feels too bex15 about finally having a baby here this Christmas. She is by far our most favorite present! H just put the turkey on the smoker. I’m holding DD while she naps, and I’ve got hot chocolate and watching Christmas Vacation!

Merry Christmas! DS just wanted to eat the wrapping paper and did not get the unwrapping at all. DD “helped” him but was mostly just too excited about her new dollhouse.
We are going to make steaks later but otherwise just staying home in our jammies. DS has another ear infection so we cancelled our plans, but I can’t say I’m sad to stay home just the 4 of us.
