tallb, I didn't realize bike riding lessons could be outsourced. Hmm...I may look into that. REI has them! We are using a lady that my friends have used and is a small business, it's 4 private lessons and she is letting N tag along on a balance bike.

Glad to hear the marble runs are a hit! B's been talking about them recently after seeing them in a cool STEM toy catalogue we got, so Santa is bringing one of those.

Morning! tallb Hope you finish up soon. tgrimes Sorry about H, again. Also stumped on gifts. Adding marble run to the list. Looks like something right up his alley. Thanks! It’s been a slow morning here. M2 and I overslept. Didn’t get him to DC until 930- whoops! Once I got home, I had my coffee and browsed the cyber Monday sales. I bought shoes for M and myself at DSW -30% off the purchase- and I have a cart at Target I’m deciding on. I think I may run to Walmart. I saw those halo jr. scooters the other day and think I want to get M2 one because he always tries to get on M’s, but it’s a two wheel, so he can’t manage it. I need to run out to do errands, but don’t really feel like it.

We got sone stem catalog (mindware?), education works, and a lakeshore learning catalog all on the same day. I thought their heads were going to explode with the choices!

Ha, sounds like the same ones we got--thankfully there was one catalog for each kid!

I hope they got it all tallb! I am not lacking in the Christmas idea department. Both girls have been very vocal about what they want, it’s just a matter of getting something from every category without blowing my budget.

Thanks all, they got it on the first try and stitched me up -4 stitches and it seems to curve under my nostril, so hopefully that means the scar will be discreet.
K slept almost all morning in the carseat so mh has a lovely morning of nothing to do🙄
Our after care camp registration just opened up so now I'm anxious trying to research what we will do for the summer. I checked the daycare schedule for k and they are now closed for a full week of spring break (the week after J's) and a full week in August (different than N's). I need an assistant to keep track of this stuff.

tallb glad that got it all on the first try. The ride home from work was scary. It didn’t seem bad but I get out at 12:10 and I work less than 2.5 miles from the middle kid’s school where they were getting out at 1:00. DH was working from home and he had to run for them because I almost didn’t make it

Our elf, Elfie, came back. L keeps calling him Mr. Elf and asked me to call the police to come get him because he won't talk to her and wants him to go away.

You should put some handcuffs on him tomorrow. Our tickle got into the goldfish crackers today and had crumbs all over him. M was very amused by it and keeps going over to study him. Lol.

Our elf, cha cha, appeared in the tree this morning. N kept asking yesterday when he would be here which made H scared to go to bed because he thought cha cha would come in his room. So H slept with N last night which is always so cute.
We surprised N at school to have lunch with her today. She loved it and H thought he was pretty cool having lunch with the big kids.
We gave her the power to pick anywhere she wants for dinner tonight so we’re going to...... subway! Lol. Probably for best after a long weekend of lots of food.

I took H to get her ears pierced and she did way better than I expected. She didn’t cry after the first ear and only a little after the second. She acted like we cut her leg off when she got her flu shot so I was expecting a lot more dramatics. The lady at Claire’s was really pushing the more expensive earrings but I didn’t want to pay $70+ for this.
So glad we don’t have an elf.

We have an elf, Caribou. He sits on the fireplace. He doesn’t move or anything.

No elf's in my house. I do not need one more thing to fuck with daily. A friend brought the kids an elf last year. Thanks, friend! I'm unsure if it'll move. If it does it won't be making messes or anything like that. MH brought it out last night so I think the elf falls under his responsibility!

FFC I love our Elf. He just moves around for the most part, sometimes brings treats like the advent calendars he brought the first day. My kids get so excited to find him every morning. I have saved the cutest letters DD used to write him. She hasn’t written one this year yet so I think she’s on to him now but it was sweet.

Mine just moves around for the most part, too and is no big deal. Since I was off today I decided to be a little more creative with him. He brings stuff sometimes, too.

Not an elf owner. Don’t want or need an elf. We already have a lot going on during this month.

We have an elf. He doesn’t make messes but moves daily. C loves to find him and takes it seriously that the elf is watching. He explained it to the cats so they know to behave as well.

Our elf brings the matching Christmas pj's and just moves around, no messes. He annoys me in practice but the kids love it so I suck it up and find a new spot each night.
Funny, normally we do the long-john style PJ's but this year I opted for something different. C opened hers first--a nightgown--and then B started to open his and found tailored 'menswear style' pajamas. He legit thought it was a dress and button-down shirt and started crying b/c he really wanted Christmas pjs, lol. It took him a couple minutes to come around but he is now quite happy.

I had a pair of the menswear PJs for M last year and he disliked them very much. He didn’t even last a whole night in them. The day they got to wear PJs to school, I sent him in those and he was pissed, but I didn’t want to send him in the long john kind. That reminds me that I need to get him a shirt to wear with his flannel pajama pants for polar express day this year.

This is too funny! I had ordered that style from old Navy but the baby version was also this style and was not practical at all, so they all went back. I did order long John style hearth and home ones on sale a few weeks ago for the kids..I need to get them washed.
