Lo does have his 6 year checkup. C is currently planned on taking him but I may change my mind and take him instead. It all depends on if I get off work on time.

H puked all over MH at 5 this morning. Luckily I was spared since I was in the shower. He stayed home with him so I could go to the office for a bit. I need to get everything ready for court tomorrow. And go through al of my emails from last week. Then I’ll head home so he can go to work.

I’m not sure if it’s a stomach virus or the flu. His temp got up to 103 yesterday and came down with Motrin. This morning his left ear was reading 100 and the other was 102.

Our sitter showed up and we had a really nice dinner at one of our favorite spots; I was so tired by the time we got home (the cocktail and wine probably didn't hurt) that I fell asleep early but then woke up wide awake around 4

Speech this morning; once B heads out the door for school C and I have a couple errands.

Snow day here— we have about an inch on the ground. We are expecting it to snow all day but I haven’t seen anything yet.

We did some crafts with the kids this morning and now they’re watching tv (Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum on PBS Kids is an excellent history lesson for things I know only a bit about)and cyber Monday shopping.
I’m having a really hard time buying things for Josie. I’ve basically gone through all of the hot toys lists and if it’s on Amazon and not a zillion dollars I’m buying it because I don’t know what to get for her.

Good morning. I am so glad that the girls are back at school today. I have had enough togetherness. S is a crab this morning. I will be dropping her off at school soon, thankfully. While she’s at school I need to run to target to pick up my online order and then the hallmark store. I told H that we could get her ears pierced this afternoon.

tgrimes poor guy. I hope he’s feeling better quickly.

I also don’t want to crowd the playroom with a lot of junk, so I have that in the back of my mind as I shop (especially bc I got Charlie all this paw patrol stuff that’s big and ugly)

I don’t know if Evie likes glittery sparkly stuff but Josie got a ton of gifts from her aunts and cousins from Justice— a sequin backpack, an adorable make up kit, change purses, hair ties, headbands—basically all kinds of accessories from a store I never would have thought about.

Ooh this is a good tip, one of the Angel Tree children we have asked for a purse and make-up. I've been googling but haven't seen anything that grabbed me, I'll check out Justice.

- kid friendly nail polish and make up

- pink guitar
- new clothes
- bath bombs
- pink terry pyjamas

For Sinterklaas she asked for a doll bath, shampoo, socks with hearts & doll outfits. I got her a wooden unicorn for Christmas. Can you tell she’s a girl...? my goodness 🤦🏼‍♀️.

We got ds a subscription to a magazine he loves!

ETA they both love to play with the wooden animals, which don’t clutter that much and are pretty to look at!

@nam, we got those cute wooden dolls I sent you, and I found a great store about 40 minutes from us that is all nesting dolls so I ordered animal ones for both kids. So cute!

mwhip, what about a notebook/journal? Cadence has 3 of them now and she mostly draws in them, but she has also started trying to write messages and things, which I think is great because she hasn't been really interested in writing until she got them. They are of course sparkly, and one of them has a little lock and key for it, for her "secrets".

Does she like Jojo Siwa? Cadence hates getting her hair put up, but she got a JoJo bow and is now all about it. It's big, sparkly, and ridiculous, but she loves it and ALL the girls have them. LOL

tgrimes I'm so sorry about H. It is so exhausting both mentally and physically when your kid is always sick.

Right now it's sleeting here but they called an early dismissal already. MH is home till tomorrow so I told him he had to pick up S till I get home. With everything going on with B over the past few months, I have already taken off almost double my alloted PTO since I started here. Thankfully no one says anything to me, but I still feel awful. S is on a few inhalers now and his cough is even worse so who knows how long till DC tells me he can't come anymore so I've got to be here when I can.

I feel like "experience gifts" gets thrown around so often but what about horseback riding lessons, or something along those lines? 

It's tough when the kids have fall birthdays followed by the holidays.

mwhip, we do very little for birthdays in our house b/c the party is the real present. So they only get 1 gift from us, usually. I assume if we stop doing a party some time, I will probably have to change that. But he got a scooter from us for his birthday, and all the random toys etc he circled in the target catalog are going to be for Hanukkah /Christmas

Hi from the surgery center. K took forever to go to sleep, so I felt a bit rushed this morning getting ready. I've had my first layer removed and am waiting to hear if they need to take more skin or if I'm ready to bit stitched up. I haven't pumped yet, but will if I need to do a full round again.

I'm struggling for gift ideas too. J is getting a bike and lessons (I'm being extra with this, but I'm all about out sourcing and he doesn't like mh coaching him when they play baseball, so I think outsourcing is maybe better for this). No idea what to get N...

Back to reality today. C is at school, we had an Early On appointment for A and now waiting on our grocery order. Thinking I'll stop by Tim Hortons on my way home for a panini!

Cadence has her first kindergarten field trip today. They didn't ask for parent volunteers, so I'm at work. The kids looked so cute in their matching rainbow tie-dye shirts. They are going to the theater to see The Snowy Day or something.
She told me this morning that it would have been nice to stay snuggled up in bed this morning, rather than coming to school. I hear ya, kid, I hear ya. We got used to the lazy morning schedule of last week.
