This hotel has terrible sound dampening. I can hear everything outside of our room. Not a fan. Can you download a sounds app? I use Noisli when I travel. If rather listen to white noise or the ocean than people. I could but I don’t know that it would have helped. We are poolside and we could hear everyone playing and loud until 11. Not a fan. |

tallb I'm dying at J winning the read-a-thon. That's hilarious. I hate when teachers want us to track reading minutes. Cass' teacher wants us to track it daily and the books she's read (or that we read to her). Not happening. Every couple of days I jot down approximately reading times but I'm not listing the books. I don't see why it's relevant for them to know we read Thelma the Unicorn 4 days in a row. H’s teacher sends home a sheet with 20 objects on it (last month was pumpkins, this month is leaves) and H just has to color one in for each book she reads or someone reads to her. I like this method. |

Morning! I turned off my alarm and slept until almost 8. I'm hoping that taking it a little easier will make this cold disappear quicker.
We need to grocery shop and do a disguise-a-turkey project for Col's class, but that's about it. I need to keep the boys busy or get DH out of the house, but I don't really have much energy to push either. It could be a long day!

joelies cadence had that activity. She said she turned it into a witch, but she basically just colored it black and put a black hat on it. It still looked like a turkey. 🤷

8:30 and I'm the only one up. Cadence was wiped after everything yesterday. They had them swimming the entire length of the pool with kick boards.
We have a bday party at 1:30 to go to, but other than that nothing. I need to clean, but don't want to.
Oops, spoke too soon, the girl woke up before I could even finish the post!

joelies, we had that project too. I realized it the day it was due 20min before the bus was coming. Oops. We made it into a glass and put a straw in it.

M found The Descendants on Disney so she’s been watching the first movie and the animated series this morning. MH went to get some things done at work for a bit so I’ll probably take the kids on a nature walk or something.

B was up at his normal time but C slept til after 8 (which meant DH and I got to sleep til after 8 🙌🏻🙌🏻)
I put in a grocery order for later today, and we’re thinking of taking the kids to see Abominable after lunch. I didn’t really care to see it when it first hit theaters, but it’s showing free on base today so maybe worth a shot.

I’m exhausted. Ds threw up late last night and spend the rest of the night fidgeting in our bed. I always get extremely anxious when ds starts throwing up. I was a nervous mess, wide awake at every squeak, I hardly slept at all.
Aside from not eating (which is why I get anxious in the first place) he seems fine. We just got home from the Sinterklaasintocht, he’s running around like a mad man. I’m wondering if it was just the combination of spice biscuits and fresh orange jus...

We ended up in the ER with C at midnight for an ear infection. I'm not one to rush to the Dr, especially ER, but he was just screaming that it hurt so I just took him in. Luckily we were in and out quickly! Oh goodness! I hope he got some meds and some relief, poor guy  i hope it heals quickly for him. |

We are doing a deep clean of the family room/couch. Realizing I need to pull the couch out and apart more often. Yuck.

Funny story from yesterday. One of the bazaars we went to was at a Catholic college. They used to have an awesome bazaar with lots of vendors so I was excited. We get there and it's just in this tiny room and it's mostly secondhand Catholic stuff and a lot of it was super cheesy (like a plastic bottle of holy water, religious books, figurines that were made in China). I found a book called something like How to Get Your Children Excited about Mass and snickered to my friend who was also raised Catholic that my mom could have used it when I was a kid.
Cassidy had birthday money that's burning a hole in her pocket and she zeros in on the rosaries. She got one and was shocked when she saw that Jesus was nailed in the cross. She just thought it was going to be a pretty beaded necklace.

Morning. We are hanging at the pool. DH left to pick his parents up from the airport and then will be back. H has nutcracker practice at 12:45 and then we have to pick up the cake and come back to get ready to party. nam2013 and wineallthetime I hope your kids are feeling better quickly |

I’ve tried to keep up, but never got a chance to post much yesterday.
I ended up getting two shots and prescriptions Friday. My cough is so much better and hopefully be back to normal in another day or so. M had a good night with football Friday. Some of the players and coaches gave him birthday money, so he is itching to go spend it. He had a good birthday weekend.
The concert was good, we made it through the football game, and went to a surprise party at a bar last night that was fun. Today I’m planning to just take it easy after the busy weekend. I need to meal plan and do some laundry, but that’s it.

C went out to play with neighborhood friends and somehow they all ended up at our house. I’m just staying out of their way. It sounds crazy though with five kids in his small bedroom.
I have to run to the grocery store and do a return at Loft. Tonight we have a sitter and dh and I are going out to dinner for a much needed date night. I can’t wait.

I’m pretty strict about the kids eating on our sofa, but it still amazes me what all gets down between the cushions 🤨 We deep-cleaned the kitchen today. It’s so oddly satisfying. I want to do more but will have to wait til after the movie. Hope C continues to feel better! |
