Anyone else’s kid have major FOMO? Today I took DD for a princess day and DH said DS went down for a nap easily and slept for 2.5 hrs. He fights it so hard on days with me. Then tonight DD felt sick and went to bed early. I kept DS downstairs to read for 20 mins while dh put her to bed, and DS was back to being an easy bedtime. He is terrible most nights lately wanting to party in her room. I guess we need to settle them down separately.

My mom signed up for Disney + but we haven't watched a thing on it. We don't watch TV like that and when the tv is on during the weekend it's usually a Christmas movie or football. We also never watch Netflex either. We just don't tv like that.
It was a quiet but cold weekend here. We put E in his snow pants for the first time even though we really only have a coating of snow on the ground. He didn't have a clue what was happening but he had a blast. I noticed this weekend I was blowing my nose and coughing a lot again. Fuck me if this illness rears its head again.

On Mondays when DH isn't home my mom will read to N while I am doing E's bedtime. We could never try to put them to bed together. We learned the hard way that they can't even do baths together because they totally work each other up.

I've been on a deadline at work and N is in a major boundary-testing phase, so last night ended with wine. We leave for Florida on Sunday. The ILs have made some comments/things have happened that individually would be fine, but collectively are concerning H, BIL and myself so we have no idea what we are walking into (mostly related to finances and utilities). I know they're excited to see N, but it's going to be a long week. The garbage truck was going by our house as we were leaving for DC, and the workers waved at N. He thought it was the coolest thing ever, so thanks to those guys for making his morning

I love the idea of Disney+ but Ds1 just isn’t super interested in movies still and I would only want to watch them with him.
One of my best girlfriends from college came over today and brought her 1 year old. C was very sweet with him but did not like the idea of sharing his toys. Like c would rip a toy out of N’s hand, and when I corrected him, he would go up and give him a hug. We should really get him into a play-time program since he’s not in daycare so doesn’t really have a lot of exposure to other kids his age.
Also I finally made the call and got him set up for an evaluation with birth-3 on Friday. I really hope he qualifies for speech services.

We are in the process of downgrading to basic cable and internet so we got Disney plus and will probably be adding the ESPN plus as well. So far we are getting our monies worth. H loves all of the old Disney stuff and is having fun introducing his favorites to the kids.

Ugh. My work now has this site blocked. What a pain. That sucks. I've had that happen a few times. And then mysteriously I have been able to access it again a few months later. It seems they are always tweaking things that way.

We don’t do bedtime together because C’s bedtime is still around 6:30-7 (pushing mostly to 7 now), and A’s bedtime is at 8. It makes things relatively easy.
C is usually easy to put to bed, we sing a song and she goes right out or talks to herself for a bit before settling down. The last couple nights she has been screaming bloody murder for me or H (whoever put her down). Last night I did go in and snuggle for a couple times, and then when she kept screaming I just calmly talked into the monitor “C, go to sleep.”
YOU GUYS. SHE LIED DOWN AND WENT TO SLEEP. Am I in the upside down? Did do sorcery? I thought there was absolutely no chance it would work. 😱

We have TV on a lot in our house. I love TV, lol. So do the girls. We ignore screen time rules, for the most part.

The one time H did it she completely flipped out and still talks about it years later. They share a room so it's a no go.

Calvin had his birth-3 eval today. He did not qualify for speech services, but she will give us some resources to hopefully improve his speech. They will re-evaluate him in 3 months.

The same exact thing happened with my nephew pootsen, He ended up being evaluated twice and didn’t qualify. But then all of a sudden it all came together and he hasn’t stopped talking since (he’s 5). So hopefully it’s the same for Calvin.

My department had to move to a new area of the hospital today. I spent the whole week packing up the department and lost steam trying to unpack everything. The space is super nice but has no windows so that’s kind of a bummer.

Where is everyone? My work has now blocked HIH so I can’t check in as easily. I HATE typing on my phone and IPad because I make so many typing errors.
I survived a 5 day week. We haven’t had 5 full days since the last week of October. My class continues to be exhausting. I’m definitely looking forward to thanksgiving break.

Wed night we got an email from PS that 4 kids had the stomach bug. Then when DH picked her up Thursday, she was the only one left (of 9 in the AM). I thought for sure today we would be knee high in puke, but luckily nothing today. Please send healthy vibes our way! Ha
Today was nice. I had my therapy evaluation and referral for some sessions. Now I wait for kaiser. The contractor came back and fixed our shower valve. They didn’t flush the system and we had terrible flow since this summer. He finally cleared some plaster from the pipes and tonight’s shower was amazing!! Then we went for a family bike ride. Kids both crashed early tonight due to no naps.

So hopefully it’s the same for Calvin. Ds1 was evaluated twice and didn’t qualify for services. I finally pushed back and at 3.5 when he was evaluated by a SLP in the school district, he was diagnosed with profound speech apraxia. He’s been in speech classes for 2 years now and while he’s doing much better, still has some issues with most word sounds. I can see the same patterns coming up in C so I’m just worried. But I’m sure everything will turn out okay... I know it might still be too early to tell.

The space is super nice but has no windows so that’s kind of a bummer. They were talking about moving our department to a downtown location in a different city but then they discovered mold all over the offices, so we are staying put. I’m glad though because it would’ve turned by 7 minute commute into 30+ minutes.

I’m so glad it’s the weekend! H is gone hunting so there will be lots of Disney + on lol. My SIL and her family will be coming over later to hang out for a bit but otherwise we have no set plans today. I’ll have to go grocery shopping at some point and get DS1 more pants- dude had a major growth spurt! Tomorrow there is a Christmas parade that I’m hoping to bring the boys to.

We went to a Breakfast with the Grinch event this morning and it was really fun! They had a guy dressed up as the grinch and both boys were too afraid to get a photo with him. Ds1, my mom, and I are going to see frozen 2 with my in-laws this afternoon. I’m excited to see it!

DD missed her daycare barfing bug, but DH got it Thursday night 😩 thankfully he's mostly recovered today and it hasn't hit me. We went to gymnastics this morning. Feel bad for my chunk all these tiny things are holding onto the bar no problem and she's like umm, these tiny hands are supposed to hold up this badonkadonk? 😂 We already went to visit Santa, DD was ok to sit beside him only. Afterwards she had to talk it out, "Santa a nice man? I scared". And I've been to a couple craft fairs, but that's the only Christmassy stuff so far. We don't decorate until December typically. We might put up some lights before that if we get a sunny day.

I’m still alive. Between the new acquisition at work and fiscal year end I have been swamped. My boss is out this week and my goal is to finally finish Bs 1year book 🤞🤦♀️
B has had way too much screen time today, mostly iPad. He’s obsessed with the Sesame Street app. But we won’t be home tomorrow so he won’t have much then.
In other news our FET got approved by insurance and we ordered our meds, so crap is getting real. H and I are taking off Tuesday to go test drive SUVs because I’m gonna need a bigger car.
