Working from home today, but our office closes at 12. Unfortunately Hs office (same parent company, different divisions/subsidiaries) hasn't given them any similar reprieve so he might be there all day.
My mom is coming over at some point (since it's normally her day to watch the babies anyway) and I might take advantage by either cleaning the house, a nap, or going out for startbucks and target/shopping.
I have a question. I only breastfed a few weeks so there's not really that connection per se. Also H was primary care giver for AB the first 2 months of life, plus he still is the one to take care of AB and cosleep with him overnight. Past few weeks AB gets into a tizzy 1-3 times a night screaming bloody hell and H can do nothing to console him. I'm starting to notice though that if I come kiss him or take him he quiets down the second I'm there We chalked it up to teething but I'm starting to wonder if it's a separation anxiety thing or something? I guess I'm just curious if anyone has read anything on this - it doesn't make sense to me why AB would prefer me/look for me over his dad when it's dad that's been there all along. Are babies just wired to prefer mom? I'm trying to figure out what the issue is so we can address it properly (teething, fear/stress, something else).

kleigh I don't know for sure, so these are just my thoughts. I think babies go through phases through life where they prefer/are more comforted by one parent over another. I think you're right in that you would think it was his primary caregiver (not that you aren't, but in the context of this convo), but maybe you are giving him the comforts the exact way he needs them right now. Babies are confusing though, so I don't imagine it's an easy fix no matter what the reason! I hope your H isn't taking it personally! It can hurt to be unable to comfort. I am that one with DS right now. He always wants daddy where for his first 2+ years it was mommy, mommy, mommy. I guess Im saying, I get it. And it seems somewhat normal to me.

I woke up sore for whatever reason so I'm already feeling older. But it's my first birthday in 2 years not KU so I plan to drink all the drinks today!!

Happy birthday waitwhatDH is taking C and H to his parents for the day to give me some alone time (simce H finally gave in and took a bottle yesterday). I'm just watching TV, gonna go to Yoga, then maybe watch some more TV lol. Only downside is this means I have to pump again.

Happy Birthday waitwhat!! AFM, I think L and I are going to try to hit the YMCA! There's a class at noon and I'm hoping that with the holiday weekend it won't be crazy busy! I just don't want to embarrass myself. I'm in search of a cheap changing table. We had one that was attached to the PnP but with us trying to get him to nap in there we can't keep it on there! LOL

hangry I'm glad you had a good time here! What did you think of the museum?! Pretty cool right? I think DH and I enjoyed it more then B. I felt like we missed a lot because there was so much to see so we were kinda going fast through it!

kleigh I second what hangry said, sounds normal, babies/kids go through phases on preferences including Mom and/or Dad. I hope your husband isn't taking it to heart, it's all just a phase.

Pumping right now. Apparently D was a nightmare for my ILs last night while H and I were out on our date. She didn't take her bottle so we'll need to feed it to her today.
When I am done, H and I are going to put the kids in the double stroller and walk downtown. We left one of our cars there last night so once we get there we can drive everyone home. It's a good 2.5-3 miles but it's gorgeous out and I'm excited for the walk.

Monday confession - I was lurking TCF. It's dead. Like completely. It made me really sad.

Morning! H is finally home and I had a few things planned for today, since it's the only day this weekend we get him, but he's being a jerk and has poopooed every plan I made. Ugh, just fraking listen to me, play along and do what I say. kleigh, I echo what others have said, sounds like a phase and it will eventually pass. My J15 BMB just brought this up this past week about our kids preferring one parent over the other, so it still happens even at 2. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Part of me hoped she'd rally and try to save it (not necessarily get us back, but just try to save the site, you know).

But then I read something about the meds she was on effected her sight and she couldn't be in front of the computer all the time and she was basically ignoring everyone.

I doubt it. How close are you going to be? Not sure. I seriously doubt you'll probably be so close that he'd need ear protection. But if you're concerned, take some ear muffs just in case.

Morning/almost afternoon everyone! HAPPY BIRTHDAY waitwhat!!! kleigh I love it too! I can't believe how perfect it was. He was actually falling asleep but it looks like he's just really into the boat ride. So my friend asked if I wanted to go running with her yesterday morning and I said ok. It was only a mile run and mile walk back, but man am I SORE today. I've walked longer distances than that over the past few months but I guess running works out muscles that I haven't used in a while. I have to admit that it feels good to be sore like this again. Maybe I'll start trying a little harder when I go walking.

So with my day alone, I decided a glass of wine and a bubble bath would be good. But I guess I didn't put the cover back on the bottle tight enough last time because it tasted disgusting *sad face*. So bubble bath without wine (still a great concept, but kind of disappointing now lol).
