How old is your LO?
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going?

4-8 mo If you’ve introduced solids, how is LO doing? If you haven’t, how do you feel about introducing?
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going?
9-12mo What’s your favorite tip for dealing with a hungry yet distractible baby?
Questions/AW?
Any cold weather challenges for breastfeeding that you’re wondering about? Any great methods or tips for nursing in the winter?
GTKY: if you had $100 that you had to spend on yourself this week, what would you spend it on?

I am so sorry I missed the last check in. I don’t play anywhere else on the forum so pulling it up isn’t in my daily routine.
I am happy to keep posting, but if anyone else wants to take over, just let me know. I’ll pass on the check in question rotation & the post I use to invite BMBs to come over if you don’t want to make your own.

How old is your LO? 6.5 weeks
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing. It’s going well. I think we are hitting a growth spurt right now or he has a cold and finds comfort in it.
0-3 mo Nursing in public: questions, experiences, anecdotes? Going well. When he’s super fussy I try to find somewhere more quiet otherwise I just nurse wherever.
Questions/AW? We got his tongue tie fixed a week ago and it’s helped his gas so much. Glad we did that.
Any cold weather challenges for breastfeeding that you’re wondering about? Any great methods or tips for nursing in the winter? Not worried. We live in TX and it doesn’t get too cold and I don’t think we plan on traveling anywhere for the next few months.
GTKY: if you had $100 that you had to spend on yourself this week, what would you spend it on? A massage. My bday is next month and I think I’ll go get one then.

How old is your LO? 5.5 months Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing, pumping 2 times a day at work. 4-8 mo If you’ve introduced solids, how is LO doing? If you haven’t, how do you feel about introducing? DS dropped a good bit on the weight curves, so his ped said to start solid at his 4 month well child. He grabs at food, but is not sitting yet, so I am still nervous about it, and have not introduced yet. We may start avocado soon, but again, he is not sitting yet, so I don't know. He is army crawling all over the place, so I am hoping some of the non weight gain is just from burning energy moving around. If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going? It was going fine, but in the last few weeks my pumping output has dropped drastically. I have days where I don't pump as much as he drinks. I still have a stache, so no need to supplement yet, but it is stressing me out a lot. I am going to start eating oatmeal, and see if that helps. Questions/AW? Any cold weather challenges for breastfeeding that you’re wondering about? Any great methods or tips for nursing in the winter? It is not too cold here yet, but I have a lululemon scarf that works great for both keeping warm, and as a nursing cover. shop.lululemon.com/p/women/Vinyasa-Scarf-II/_/prod4240002GTKY: if you had $100 that you had to spend on yourself this week, what would you spend it on? Oh man, I have spent a lot of money already this week. I almost bought a Yeti water bottle with customized etching, that I decided I really did not need (though the personalization was free through yesterday), so maybe that.

courtnikoMy husband is a yeti fanatic. We have a few thermoses. I love them. One is custom etched by his employer, Christmas gifts for them . He was ecstatic. And we have a ridiculous cooler. I feel like I am so behind on the water bottle revolution. I have been using glass water bottles, and plastic contigo ones for years. I got DD a Thermos for school, and realized what I have been missing. It stays cold, and does not sweat, how wonderful! So I finally started looking into double walled insulated water bottles for myself.

Most recently a glass one All over the kitchen floor Yes, multipul broken glass water bottles, I cut myself on the last one that broke.

courtniko sorry your pump output has dropped! Have you changed your pump parts (valves/duckbills especially) recently? Do you need to change flange size? Also, how much is LO drinking & how much are you pumping? Sometimes your supply regulates to an acceptable amount of milk but LO is being overfed.

I changed the duck bills about a month ago (using the Ameda Finesse, not sure if there is anything else I should change Changing the flange size is worth looking into. They actually kept telling me that he is still hungry after his bottle, so I upped his bottles from 4oz to 5oz, and he is finishing that off, and not spitting up after. He is being fed every 3 hours, so 5oz is on the high range, but reasonable. I generally pump about 4oz, so this upping the bottle is putting me behind. I have a stache, but I dont want to completely work through it, I would rather be pumping enough. I have started pumping for longer, so I am hoping that while signal a need to produce more.

Hopefully the longer pump session does what you need it to. Otherwise you can maybe play around with the bottle sizes, since you’re so close to making what he needs already. Maybe at his biggest/hungriest feed they could do 5oz (which, you’re right, is definitely on the high range) and then they could do a 3oz bottle at the next feeding and a 1oz top off a little later, then you can nurse him when you pick him up (if you’re the one who picks him up)? There’s also the option of adding another pump to your day, at work / at home / while you commute maybe, but I’m sure your time is already precious.

Thank you for the suggestions lily! I have been playing around with his bottle size a bit. I worry since he has dropped weight curves I dont want to not give him milk when he wants it. I do keep thinking of adding in a pump somewhere, I am just not sure how I will fit it in. If my pumping output drops much more I will make more of an effort. The longer pumps had seemed to be helping up my supply a bit, so I will keep that up.
