Our schools are basically fortresses during the school day so there is no way any parent is ever eating lunch with their kid. They are planning to install drop boxes so if you have to drop something off for your kid, you aren’t even allowed to go inside.
My school had a gas leak earlier this week so we had an emergency evacuation. The kids were amazing and it went smoothly.
We can send non-food goodie bags for birthdays in K only but I invited the whole class to T’s party so I kinda feel like I don’t need to give every kid 2 goodie bags.
We had a Halloween event at our local high school Wednesday and Trunk or Treat at the elementary today. I’m all Halloweened and we have a lot more Halloween to go.

LO didn’t have school today so I took a day off. I kept E home too, no reason to pay for daycare if I don’t have to. C didn’t work until late so we did family photos and visited Jack Skellington. Then nap followed by a play date with his BFF Regan at the Children’s museum. Tomorrow C is watching the kids in the morning so I can finish my finals.

I stayed up too late watching the old movie Awakenings with Robin Williams and Robert DeNiro about famous neurologist Oliver Sacks and his patients. I don't know why I do this to myself. Every time I see the movie I cry. I've read several of Dr. Sacks' books and they are fascinating.

Every time I see the movie I cry. I've read several of Dr. Sacks' books and they are fascinating. I read his books in graduate school. I also met him at a party in nyc many many years ago. |

I feel like Halloween has morphed into this week- or even month-long event. Possibly a UO but I don’t love it, I feel like having SO much on the front end takes away from the special-ness (not a word) on the actual day. |

Most of our Halloween activities don't include candy, only the trick or treating the day of.

How I spent my Saturday night: scrubbing dirt out of the knees of B's costume football pants so they will be clean for Thursday  |

We’ve always done a Halloween party at Disney usually late September early October. So that’s our reveal. But this years I feel we’ve had way more Halloween things requiring costumes then normal.
