Is it just me and hawkward? Who is still here? How is the school year going? How is curriculum working out? Joys? Stressed? Anything? Bueller?

Hey! We’re still here doing our thing. We’ve been a bit unschooly this fall since the weather has been so nice. We should probably buckle down a bit more but it’s working for us right now. We’ve been focusing on communication skills mainly- reading comprehension, handwriting, composition, and speaking- and then working other subjects into that. We’ve also been doing a lot of life skills because I had an epiphany that I do too much for them.
We’re currently doing a lot of basic math skills review but I still love Beast Academy.

Things are going pretty well. We kind of gave up on Torchlight and I’m only really having them do English and Math as requirements and everything else is just interest based. We’re about to finish Logic of a English Foundations A. I can’t say enough good things about it. DD2 loves the games and the other day she woke me up begging to do it so that was really nice, and she’s reading CVC words easily now! I’m having DD1 do it with her because I got the cursive version and so she’s learning that and it has improved her handwriting so much. I was worried about her being a lefty but it hasn’t been an issue. We’re doing Right Start for math which is fun for them but a lot of work for me because it’s pretty parent intensive and they obviously aren’t on the same level. I’d like to try to pick Torchlight back up just because I think it’ll be fun once we really get into the Ancients but I have to lower my expectations about what I can get done in a day while teaching 2 and keeping 2 toddlers alive too.

I’m here. School is going well. He really does best with Science, Math and arts. He doesn’t like social studies too much but consistently does well. His reading is massively improving but we have days where getting him to just focus is such a pain in the butt. We’ve been sooooo consistent though and I’m really proud of that. I was nervous that maybe I wasn’t cut out for homeschooling but consistency hasn’t been much of an issue for us.

Hey I'm here. We are starting A with kindergarten level work this week and N with preschool. I'm feeling so overwhelmed. I'm a huge over-thinker so this isn't really a surprise. Both girls loved their school 'work' previously so fx this trend continues.
